I was going to say it was because they are both prone to acts of violence.

Yumeh wouldn't make a good pet. Yumeh has to much of an independent streak.

-shrug- I'd still feed him. We had lots of feral cats when I was younger. People would abandon cats on the side of the road too, and we took care of them too.

I have a real problem with people just abandoning their pets. If you don't want a pet anymore, it's best to find a home for them.

I agree Taiyo. There are so many stray dogs in my town.

I understand why some people do it...the "shelter" we had before the new one was built in my hometown was absolutely dismal, so tiny and so overcrowded that many animals were killed there each day. I understand the thinking of, "Well kitty/puppy has a better chance on his own than locked in a cage waiting for 3 days until they run out of room". But the people who left them by our house, I mean, we lived right next to a busy highway. If you left your cat or dog there, you didn't care one jot. If we hadn't been there....well, lets say they had a better chance in the cages.

Oh wow...I really hope that shelter got their act together. And if they didn't, then they need to have a foot shoved up their arses.

Its closed now. And they have a bigger one, and then they were able to add on to that one a few years back. Its pretty good now.
