Being one who was banned, I still feel for Gaia. They have so many users, and it's so very hard to tell who is telling the truth and who is not. ._.

I really hope they can recruit new people to handle the bannings properly.

She's got her account back, but items are missing. No odd activity in trade or vend log, meaning items must have been gifted. She has to PM the mod back and tell them what's up. Anyone know if there is a way to view gift-giving history?

I have a lot of friends that were unfairly banned from Gaia. I'd be really frustrated if it happened to me, but I understand how difficult it is to keep things running smoothly on such a large site...

You should always take a picture of your inventory to show the mods what you've lost.

Mahinva, Gaia said they can view those trades (gifting), but I don't know if it's true. They might have said it to discourage the offsite trading. I'm not sure. :[ I really hope they can track them now.

From what I've heard, only an omni mod can see the gift-giving history. Sorry I'm not much help. I don't know much about this. At least, your friend got her account back I guess...

People these days have no guilt or at least feel shameful for what they have done. *^*

Sadi: I actually wrote down all the proc numbers of my MCs, but I have to update that list. I figure that's more accurate than a SS, though a SS is useful too. She doesn't have an inventory SS so that's no help, but she knows she has lost 3 items for sure - possibly more. Either they locked the account before more could be given away, or the hacker didn't want much - could've done more damage it seems.

Chiairen - I hope they can track too; I remember gift-giving being removed for a time, I think it was to improve the system (so they could track such activity)? I'm not exactly sure though. I have been trying to watch the exchange for anyone selling the same kind of items.

I just don't understand who would even want to steal virtual items. o_O I mean, unless they are like seven years old.

I was trying to find a full mod list - only found forum mods. Some other people in another thread told her to PM someone who turned out to be a mod assist er something. She got in touch with an Omni mod and now she's got access again.

She has PM'd that Omni mod again to say that things are missing. Since sending that, she got a reply saying that she now has to wait for the report form she filled out to go through. She's discovered a few more items are missing. - -;

I've told her to record all her proc numbers and write down all the items she is discovering are lost.

A proc number is basically like an ID number - whenever you purchase an item or open a MC, the item you get has a proc. You can see proc numbers by going to your "My stuff" display (where all items are shown in a big inventory display) and click on each item. When the discription pops up, you want to look at the address bar in your browser. At the end of the url, it will say "proc=(numbers)" the "(numbers)" will be the item's ID.

I do not know if having a proc number will help you in the case of being hacked - I assume the item could be directly tracked as you know the item's ID... I don't know how admins work to retrieve items though.

It's not so much the password security anymore. A lot of people have been hacked from simply clicking links their friends send. :[ It's very common for some jerk to make a fake login page just to get your password.

I'll never understand why people hack into avi sites?
I mean it's just pixels there is no real money in it
