I made something that looks iridescent. I tried to, anyway.

Edit:

Here it is at various saturations. From left to right, I used 100 percent of the default saturation for the palettes (I used Dusk and Atlantis), then 75 %, 50 % and 25%, trying to capture the feel of the iridescent jelly squid. Of course, I can't accurately do that without using Alpha, but this is the closest I come with MS Paint.

Too bad the outfit itself is terrible hahaha.

And by that, I don't mean how I pixelled the outfit. I've seen this kind of thing in real life, it's really not pretty xD

It has become in vogue for women recently in my country, and they wear them with various beaded accessories haha.

Which makes me notice that a lot of the clothing I've pixelled are female clothes adapted for the male person.

your drape at the back do not look convincing... and the one falls on ground... is not...does not feel natural...

I noticed DX

This was actually supposed to be a pretty light, long skirt.

...search for some reference and study how fabric drop on floor?
that is the best advice I can give you right now when I am not in the mood to red line the fabric flow for you,...

My bigger problem is shading around the hip area. I actually had to use a pink from a different palette compared to the one I used for the rest of the skirt because some of the 'lightest' colors have a big jump in brightness compared to the second lightest.

Ignore the lightest, just use the remaining 5 shades?

This is the best I could do to minimize the shading problems-- I put them in different palettes. The palette seems to be part of the problem, but I'm definitely still having trouble shading the hips.

I haven't actually used regular dithering in a while, so that might be throwing me off.

I actually used the four middle shades, because the darkest one looks too dark.

In the end, these skirts just frustrated me and I might make new ones instead.

What I see currently is that you are using a lot of dithering...to the point of it is very obvious.

So yeah. I'm scrapping this and starting a different skirt. These just, well, they don't work.

In stark contrast to my last attempt, I rather like these pants.

the dithering looks rather strong in certain palette... especially the cyan and pink ones...
but the shape certainly look nicer.

yeah, unfortunately, some palettes do that. I could cobble together my own palette but they wouldn't match anything on the site.
