Laurell K. Hamilton is one of the best authors I've read. I'm a big Anita Blake series fan. :P Vampires and Were-animals = yummah. :D

One of the best Historical Fiction books that I've read is Miss Spitfire : reaching Helen Keller by Sarah Miller. It's about how Annie Sullivan taught Helen Keller with pieces of her own life included in the book. It's really good, I couldn't put it down and it totally surprised my mom because I don't normally read Historical stuff (even though I'm a history buff XD)

Ooh, I think I might partake of this... Sounds like a good challenge for the brain.

^ I'm glad to see someone else who's read The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. Case studies have always interested me, and I've found that Oliver Sacks is one of the best physicians to document his studies. Not only does he experience the most interesting finds, but he knows how to present them as both a doctor and an author.

He came out with Musicophilia this past year, but I've never been able to find it in any of the stores near me. I think that just makes me even more anxious to read it.

Its been like three years since I've read it, so I don't remember. Also, I used to read a lot more books than I read now, and sometimes, if I really get into them, I read them way too fast, and I sometimes forget the book pretty quickly after I read it. D:

Ha, dude if I had been reading Merry Gentry while I was still in school, and they happened to open it... I probably would've got unlucky and they wouldn't have seen really good writing and a great story; they probably would've seen her describing her men's private parts or the all the sex they have. x_x; Which is still really good writing and a great story, but then I probably got in trouble for possessing pornographic content, #1 New York Time's Bestseller or not. Dx

I am too! ^^ I love Anita, because she's really short like I am, and people totally underestimate her because of it, like they do me, so I can really relate to her in that way. :yes:

Lol, the only thing I have in common with her is the fact that she has a fetish for long hair guys. Guys with long hair is like..:drool:
My friend actually gave the book to me when I asked her one day at school what she was reading.
Me: Whatcha reading?
Her: *holds up hand*
Me: *looks over shoulder and reads a part* Holy crap is that porn!?
Her: SHHHH! NOT SO LOUD!

She winded up coming to school the next day with the first three books in hand and let me borrow them. Winded up finishing them within the week. I never really got tin the Merry Gentry books. I have the first one and one other one that my mom bought thinking it was a Anita Blake book. I started the first but it never really stuck, but I was also doing a lot of stuff at that point of time. XD but I plan to read it sometime...maybe after I finish The Host and before Breaking Dawn. eh.

:rofl: My God, that happened with one of my friends, at the library. She was like "Whatcha readin?" and I showed her, and her face turned like five different shades of red and then she's never asked about a book of mine again unless she knows what it is. Goody-two-shoes. xD

I just really loved both of the series, but one of the reasons is because I love Hamilton's writing style. :yes: She's got such a great imagination, and her characters are just so freaking AMAZING! <33 :drool:

I forgot I was still in this...(.:sorry:.) right now I am reading Leo Tolstoy's, Anna Karenina, it so far has proved itself to be a very good read. ( A long read though) I'm only about 300 pages in but I about 500 more to go, it's so good, I feel so much for the characters and what they're going through.

Lately I've been reading early in the morning before my job starts. I have to get there around 8, but nothing actually happens until 8:30-8:45, so that gives me some time to whip out a book and read a few pages while sipping my coffee. It's a good system. :yes:

I'm reading A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn, but since that's a little too big to fit into my pocket I'm also reading The Accident by Elie Weisel. It's a strange combination, but I like them both so far.

I'm between books right now. I finished The Virgin Suicides last week, and lately I've been too busy with writing and brainstorming on the book I'm writing to do any actual reading. XD

The book was a little drawn-out and anti-climactic. And at times, it was hard to understand. There were moments where I had no clue what was going on and I'd reread a paragraph four times to try to see what I missed.

I am considering joining, but I would basically be reading manga.

I like fantasy novels, but they do take a while to read.

I would only get through maybe twelve of them in a year.

Manga do go much faster.

They are fun, and I have a subscription to Shojo Beat magazine.
