This is your daily dose of a sweet, little, slice-of-life story between two companions as they trek through forests and traverse seas. Held together by a strong bond, their pasts have no hold on them when they have each other. They promised to be for each other through thick and thin, but does that promise still hold strong when there stronger forces are involved? Will our brave heroes get through their daily lives in stride, or will a secret drive them both to madness?

Name: Sophronia Astraste (art by nemiri)
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Special Aspect: Brought up under the care of a mage, with a general understanding of how to manipulate the elements around her. Also has a basic understanding of which herbs can heal, if they were made available to her.

Personality: A quiet, skitterish little thing, Nia sees the good in everyone and everything. She's used to doing anything without question, which can get her into compromising situations, though, so she's thankful that her companion is there to keep her head in check. Will use her magic for what she thinks is the best choice for everyone involved. Weighed down by her past, she will do whatever it takes to prevent anyone (including her companion) from speaking about it. She's been running her whole life, why stop then?

Bio: Sophronia, Nia for short, was the daughter of a well-to-do family. They weren't as wealthy as the lords around them were, but wealthy enough that they were able to form a business around the vineyard they owned. Nia was always taught to sacrifice for the family, to the point where she gathered her things and left. She was taken in by an elderly woman who saw the power, unbridled and untamed, within Nia and decided to teach her discipline.
Nia learned how to keep her powers in check, and was able to help out a nearby village with their growth and prosperity, but only on her terms. This way, she was able to make a small name for herself, enough to get some funds to finance her trek across the land.

---------

Sophronia woke up first.

She crawled out of the makeshift tent that they made just a few hours ago to feel the cool, morning air. The fire died down just recently, as made apparent by the few glowing embers left behind. It was probably a bad idea to leave the fire going as they fell asleep, but it didn't matter now. They've been doing this for days, months even.

Nia got up and stretched a bit, her neck and back erupting into a series of crackling noises that comforted her. At least she knew she was aging. She couldn't bear to think of immortality and what it entailed. What can one do when they can't die? That sounded like a personal hell she wasn't sure anyone would understand. She looked around for her bags, wondering what they would eat that morning. Or whether she wanted to eat that morning.

Name: Dahlia Vakhtang
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Special aspect: A great huntress, Dahlia's arrows never stray from her prey. She possess a general understanding of destruction magics and has a knack from ice spells.

Personality: A quiet, but mischievous girl, Dahlia seems to find trouble wherever she goes. She never stays with one group very long and tends to disappear quite expertly, making her very elusive to bounty hunters.

Background:Growing up as an orphan, Dahlia was raised by the streets of a small farming village. She quickly gained skill as a thief to feed herself. The towns blacksmith, a very kind old man, taught her to hunt and made the crossbow she clings to so dearly.

---------- Post added 06-02-2016 at 07:15 PM ----------

Dahlia woke up at the crack of dawn, before the sun even rose to bid the world a good morning. She'd been following a small camp for months now, awaiting the perfect time to pounce on the unsuspecting travelers. They appeared to be well to do, their clothes made of strong, colorful fabrics, and their supply of food very plentiful. Why she'd been following so long without making a move was a mystery, even to Dahlia herself.

Down in the camp below, a figure rose. It was Nia as Dahlia had overheard the others call the very quiet young woman. She seemed to always be the first to rise among the camp. She was by far Dahlia's favorite to watch. She was very interesting in the way that she carried herself. She almost had an air about her that would suggest she grew up among nobility, though why a girl of noble blood would be roaming these lands was a mystery. Perhaps she wasn't nobility at all. Perhaps she was just well educated and polite.

As the other campers rose and began to move around, Dahlia made a strange decision. Instead of attack the group, she decided perhaps it would be easier to infiltrate them from the inside. So she made herself clearly visible to them.

"Hello" She called, waving. The campers looked at her in suspicion. "I was wondering if perhaps I could join you. I've been traveling in search for the nearest village." She lied, trying to play a harmless young woman. Although still looking a bit cautious, the group allowed her to approach without threat to her.

Nia averted her attention to an unfamiliar voice. She looked at the rest of her camp members with a questioning look. It was unusual for someone to just be travelling alone, and a woman at that. Then again, she was thinking of making it on her own after a few weeks worth with the group so she couldn't really judge. Suspicious, however.

"Alright. We don't really have a leader among us, so if it's okay with the others," Nia looked back at the group and no one seemed to be refusing the offer. She looked back at the stranger and flashed her a smile. "The nearest village is, uhh, 3 days away? We can accompany you until then. We need more supplies anyway." She hoped she didn't step on anyone's toes with letting a complete stranger join them. If the stranger decided to attack, it would be obviously outnumbered so they were probably okay.

Didn't people in the group kind of introduced themselves the same way? All wayward people, not wanting to settle in one place for so long. It was normal to be suspicious, but they couldn't forget how they all came together in the first place.

Dahlia grinned to herself. That'd certainly been easy. No one ever suspected her of anything being that she was so small and feminine. She has three days to make her move before they arrived in the net village. Dahlia followed behind the group, walking with Nia. Their surroundings were beautiful, the grass green and flowers blooming. The thief decided to make small talk with the noble looking girl.

"So, what brings you all the way out here? You don't much seem the traveling type." She could tell the poor girl was a bit shy and hoped she'd be able to get some information from her.

"Oh...the usual," Nia smiled. She looked over the stranger from head to toe, she didn't look like the menacing type, but you never know nowadays. "People wanting to experience the great outdoors and seeing more of the world." Nia shrugged. She adjusted her pack as they kept walking, deciding to hold off a little bit on food as the group just went up and walked, maybe wanting to keep the newcomer at bay.

"My name is Nia. What's yours? And what brings you tagging along with out already ragtag group?"
