Garnet said nothing further as she lead the way back to her house. She was on her street when suddenly two armed guards approached with their guns pointed at her. She froze in place as her eyes widen seeing the the guns pointed right at her. She shuttered a little as the men yelled at her demanding to know why she was out past curfew. Garnet finally spoke up finding her own courage. " General Lafayette chose me to work at one of the inns today. I have done my job and wish to go home. He sent this solider as proof." She said as she moved very careful and slowly to let them see Calum.

"Lower your weapons men, she's with me and on her way home." Calum explained. "The general asked me to look after her and to escort her back home once all was done. As you can see, I'm doing just that." he added, seeing the others' hesitate. The soldiers looked at each other but then nodded and lowered their guns. Calum continued to follow her home and when they reached her house, he knocked on her door. They didn't have to wait long before a woman opened the door, looking relieved to see the girl standing there and frightened to see him there too. "No need to worry Ma'am, she's not in trouble. Just bringing her back after she finished her work for the day. I'll be back early in the morning to escort her back to where she will be needed. Have a goodnight and stay indoors." Calum said before turning and starting to walk back.

Garent looked back as the man left and frowned a little. "Thank you." She whispered as she turned and headed in the house. She sighed as she walked up the stairs to her room not really feeling like trying to eat or talk with her parents. She walked to her room and shut the door behind her. She sighed as she walked over to her window seat and took a seat as she peered out at the sky. She frowned as she looked down at the forest she could see from her window. She could just just run like she had always wanted to and live off the land. However she couldn't do that her family needed her. The thought made her even more depressed as she sighed and drifted of to sleep there knowing she would have orders soon enough from her father. She knew she would have to wake early to do whatever her father wished of her to help keep the peace. She wasn't sure she liked the picture of her new life. However there wasn't anything she could do.

Seth worked through the night as he came up with offical rules and schedules. He worked hard trying to get everything in order. He wondered where the man and his wife had gone off to. However he looked up hearing the clocks going off. " Ah I would assume they are home by now. I hope they report in tomorrow so they can give me a update on things. I need some information from them." He said to one of the men with him. " We should call it a night." He said as he stood ready to head to the inn himself.

Phoebe closed the door and locked it then watched as her daughter left to her room. Her husband shook his head and stood up. "Lucian leave her. She's been through a lot today. The poor girl is obviously tired. I suggest we eat our dinner and get ready for bed, we have a lot of work to do." she said honestly as she walked to the table and took her seat. She watched her husband hesitate but smiled when he sat down and began to eat his dinner. Phoebe was always caught in the middle when it came to her husband and her daughter. She knew Lucian was strict but he meant well, just as Garnet meant well with all that she said.

Calum walked into the inn and waited patiently. He wasn't really tired right now, all he could think of was what Garnet had said to him. "They don't hate you Ma'am..." he whispered to himself and looked out the window at the moon up in the night sky. It was a lovely sight to see. He looked at the clock on the wall and noticed the time. It was very late so he took this time to look over that list again.

Seth walked to the inn and looked around impressed with it. He was surprised to see that there was still food there. He walked to a empty table and sat down once he had fixed himself something to eat. He looked around wondering where Calum was. He wondered if Doll had been the one to have cooked everything that he saw. He honest was impressed with how happy the men where. He was surprised as he received a note attached to a key. He stared at the beautiful writing and smiled seeing the note. "Humm so she saved a suite for me and wrote a list out for me." He said impressed honestly as he suddenly felt a twinge of pain. He frowned as he sat there looking down at the food. The girl did her best even thought everything that had happen. He felt like a monster as he sat there. He wished he wasn't part of the war. All of the blood shed was starting to add up. It was wearing him down just like the men with him.

Calum looked up, hearing that someone had walked into the inn. Looking out, he saw it was the general. He looked just as tired as everyone else but if there was a word to describe Calum right now, it was unmotivated. He just didn't care for any of this, it had become a routine he never wanted to follow anymore. He didn't want to bug him while eating but this was probably the only chance he had to talk to him. Calum walked over to Seth and pulled out the list. "Sir, I'm sorry to interrupt. I'm sure you're probably tired and hungry but I thought you should see this." he said and waited for permission from the man.

Phoebe enjoyed having a quiet dinner with her husband. She knew these days were going to be tough for everyone but they'd make it through day by day. When dinner was finished, she gathered the dishes and washed them while her husband left to get ready for bed. Phoebe let out a soft sigh as she looked out the window, "How long will this last?" she asked herself and hoped that tomorrow everyone would be in a better mood. When she was done with the dishes, Phoebe dried off her hands and left to her room to get some sleep.

Seth looked up suddenly hearing a familiar voice. He smiled softly as he saw the young man standing at his table. " Oh its???humm Calum right?" He asked as he smiled and nodding hearing what the man said. " Of course please why don't you sit down with me and let me have a look at that list. Why don't you tell me about your day. Did that young girl do all of this? " He asked wondering if he was right about the green haired girl having worked hard to do everything here.

"Yes sir." he answered. "Thank-you." Calum said before sitting down and setting the list on the table for the man to see. "My day sir?" he repeated. "It was...interesting I guess is the word for it. Yes, she did everything. She made us food, and cleaned our clothes after giving us rooms. Poor girl was exhausted, I saw her fast asleep by the river out back but when she woke up I believe she was still somewhat asleep since she called me Edward. Turns out this Edward fellow is an old friend of hers but I believe he may be dead. I didn't tell her that of course." Calum explained.

" Humm...I see." Seth said as he smiled softly hearing Calums account of his day. " Many have lost people they knew or once cared for in this war. Sadly I hope it ends soon. I'm growing rather tired of this long bloody war as everyone is. Believe it or not our side is the less blood thirsty side. I revived a report earlier today of the other side slaughtering hundreds of their own people to kill a regiment of our men. No one wins in a battle like this. I wish the war would end soon myself and I can tell everyone here does. I don't like killing however it's my job and I must do as I'm told to do. I just pray for the pour souls I have taken and hope that at the end of this bloody war there is forgiveness for a man like me." He said being honest as he said a quick prayer before eating some of the soup and biscuit. He was rather impressed with the flavor from what little the young girl had to work with.

" I wouldn't go forming any attachments if I was you Calum. Remember we are in a war and to the people here we are the enemy. I am not saying be paranoid or treat the people here with contempt. But keep in mind that we invaded their land today and killed people they knew and loved. So don't expect people to be so friendly with you or to really go out of their way. Remember that girl as beautiful as she is could be used against you at any moment. The resistance could use her to lure us all in to a trap and kill us like they did the poor hundreds of innocent people they killed today just to get one of our regiments. " He said being rather serious for a moment as he looked at Calum very stern taking a authoritative tone with the man. " Don't let your guard down remember your a solider first and foremost. As cold as that sounds saying it, I'm afraid it's the truth. " He said as he frowned and sighed.

"If our enemy found out that just one of us has a weakness they will exploit it to get the upper advantage. That is war and that is why it is nothing any should wish. Brothers killing brothers children and wife's becoming weapons and tools. I expect there to be some resistance here soon. I expect more deaths here on both sides. Until this war is over and more than likely even after that will be the way life is here and across the lands. People wont know who to trust and will fight for what they believe in. It will take months before we will find out who here we ca trust and who we cant. Even then it is best to be weary. I would keep my interactions down with the people here to avoid building conflicts of interest. " He said coldly as he sat there for a moment looking over the list that the girl had compiled.

" Geese if the war wasn't on I'd make that girl my business partner. I'm impressed she must have experience with running a shop of some short. Humm....I wonder why she is wasting around here. To be so smart why would she stay here knowing that our attack was coming. Hummm.....I believe she could be a great resource to us. I bet a girl like that would know different contacts and could get us information. Humm we might could use her as a spy. " He said as he rubbed his chin thinking of her function. "With that beautiful face and innocent eyes no one would peg her as a spy for us. We could use her to send messages and to get supplies for us." He said as he thought about each possibility.

Calum listened to his general speak and nodded, he was right. So his general was also tired of this war? Well everyone probably was. He couldn't believe that the other side had killed their own kind, that was just wrong on a bigger level. "I don't believe any of us like killing sir, but it's our job and I feel that our current situation is kill or be killed." Calum commented softly. When his general mentioned not getting attached to the girl, Calum shook his head. "I'm not here looking for friends or anything else sir. I'm here to do my job and my job is to look after her as you have assigned when we got here. I honestly don't even talk to her, she does all the talking, I just listen. I'm not at liberty to speak to anyone and even if I was I wouldn't want to sir. I'm only here to do my job, nothing else." Calum assured.

Against me?! Sir you're the one calling her beautiful, I don't even talk to the girl. Calum thought to himself. "I know sir but you don't have to worry about that. Like I said, I'm only doing my job." he reminded and noticed his general had turned full serious now. Calum nodded, "Yes sir." he said honestly. Of course he knew he was a soldier, and no one not even a silly girl was going to make him let his guard down. He came way too far to just go soft suddenly. "I understand sir." Calum said quietly. More deaths, the thought saddened him but didn't surprise him. Of course more people had to die, that's just the way war worked. "Yes sir...understood." he said quietly.

"She mentioned her father isn't keen on women working, but perhaps she rebelled and did some sort of work somewhere for a short time." Calum mentioned. He figured he should tell the general what the girl had told him. He noticed that his general was coming up with ideas that she would be a part in to help them but what made him think she would just sign up and help them? They were the enemy as the general had stated before. "S-sir if I may? If we do plan on using her as a spy, you do realize I won't be able to look after her then. A-also...what about us being the enemy? I don't think she'll want to comply so willingly. Perhaps she will though, she's an odd one and if she likes to prove her father wrong I suppose she would accept." he said with a shrug of his shoulders and wincing.

" War is a funny thing Calum. I bet you think I'm giving you a useless spill. This isn't my first war and I see a lot of me in you. I came in the same way you did. I met a girl like the one you met today. My first mistake was the same as yours letting what she said touch me. You can say that she means nothing and that you where only doing your job. But you took the time to listen to her and to care just like I did. Before you know it you'll become friends with her. And I don't want you to end up like I did after my first war. I was just a boy when I came into war. And here I am on my second war a man and not that much older than you. I'm warning you because you may not see it now but are letting that girl in. I've been down this path and maybe I was wrong for putting you with the girl. " He said as he paused and thought for a long while.

" I don't believe the girl is seeking to disobey anyone. If she had been she would have poisoned the food or set the place on fire today when she had the change. Also if she was going to be against us she already would. You also already gave me a clue that you have some minor attachment with her in what you just said about using her as a spy, that you couldn't protect her. If you had no attachment then why worry about her protection. " He said as he went back to his food and looked over the list. " My orders where only to protect her while she was here and to get her home you added the last part. I'm just warning you to be careful. I think she would be perfect to deliver messages because of her physical appeal. She has innocent eyes and I don't see any man daring to harm her. However it would be wrong of me to do so. If it was my own sister or one I cared for I wouldn't like the idea. I'm not heartless but as my position commands I must try and make the best choice with what I have. We don't have many men to spare now. There are only half of us now and we do need local help. I think her social skills and business mindset could be very useful for us. She has many positives as a messenger for us or merchant. It's sad that today her mother was the one to speak up. I was testing the waters today. Just because I say something doesn't mean I really mean anything by it. I have no intent for now to put the girl anywhere near harm. However I have to entertain the possibility of using her as a resource. I myself find women to work just as hard as men if sometimes not harder. " He said as he finished his food and smiled as he looked to Calum. " Well it's late and we both need sleep. Just take what I say with a grain of salt. I mean I'm just some another stranger to you after all. So take what I said as you will. " He said standing." I have much to think about."

Was he not supposed to listen to her? He was not touched by what she said! He was...he didn't even know anymore. There was no point in debating with the general, it would only dig a deeper hole for him. If it's so funny why is no one laughing? Calum thought to himself and sighed deeply. "Yes sir...goodnight." he muttered and quickly left to his room where he kicked off his boots and sat on the edge of his bed. What the heck was that all about? He was NOT attached to some stupid girl who he had just met! Heck, he never even asked for her name! He didn't even talk to her! If his job was to protect her he was doing that but if she wanted to run off and be a spy then that was fine by him he could care less if she died. Right? Groaning in annoyance, Calum lay down in bed and pulled the blanket over his face, trying to get some sleep.

Garnet woke suddenly from fear as she sat up straight. She sighed as she saw she was in her room. She remembered that her father hadn't really had time to come up with anyone to cover the inn as she saw the sun would be up soon. She was tired however she got up and bathed then changed into another dress putting some pants she had cut off underneath as she walked back to her room. She open her window and climbed out on her trellis She shut her window as quietly as she could. She slowly made her way down to the ground. She looked around making sure none of the guards would see her as she ran through one of the open fields to the forest. She made her way to the inn coming through the forest by the river bank .She smiled seeing what a lovely day it was going to be. She walked to the back door as she lifted up the mat and found the key. She let herself in and started working on breakfast. She didn't want her father in trouble.

The following morning, Calum sighed as he washed his face and thought about what the general had said. I'm warning you because you may not see it now but are letting that girl in. Calum glared at his reflection in the mirror then dried his face. He was not letting her in. He didn't think so anyway but if the general said he was then he probably was and he had to stop before it got worse. But how? Was he supposed to just ignore her then? "That seems rude.." he said to himself, but perhaps he was supposed to be rude. He wasn't supposed to be nice.

"I'm surprised Zylphia isn't here yet." Lucian said as he and his wife sat down for breakfast. "Maybe she's just very tired. Or maybe that soldier came for her early like he said he would." his wife commented. She was probably right, he hoped she was right and that their daughter wasn't just sleeping in or running around a shop somewhere. "We must go see the general and let him know that we have informed the people of the changes." Lucian reminded. His wife smiled and nodded. "Let's just wait a little while, we must let the man eat as well you know." Phoebe answered.

(awe I love your avi!!)
Garnet started working on breakfast. She worked hard her white apron was covered in flour from making more biscuits for the men. She had enough to make oatmeal for the men and had enough juice to ensure all the men could have some Orange juice if they wanted it with their meal. She frowned as she pulled out another pan full of biscuits. It wasn't much honestly but it's all she had that she could make for them. She hoped that it would be enough as she hurried and plated the first two pans of biscuits she had made then rushed them out the dinning hall. She cleaned the dinning hall and made sure it looked perfect before bringing out the pitcher of water and orange juice. She staked all the fresh cups she had found beside the pitchers making sure that everything was in order. She brought fresh plates and bowls and silverware. She had found some fresh fruit and cut it up to make a fruit salad putting out butter, cheese, and jams.

By the time everything was ready she looked quiet messy. Her hair was half up and half down her apron was covered in different things and she had flour on her face. She worked on washing the dishes from the night before. She was already tired and knew the day was only getting started. She hoped that this would keep the men here happy so no one else would be in trouble. She didn't want any one else to die. She worked hard constantly washing and drying dishes, then putting them away. Between she was working on pulling out more biscuits for the men.

The General woke as he thought he smelt biscuits coming from the bottom floor. He showered and got dressed as he arched a brow heading down stairs. He was surprised to see the dinning room full of food and in picture perfect state. He slowly inspected the area and finally fixed himself some food and sat down to eat. He had a suspicion that one of the locals had done this hoping to keep from more blood shed. He ate his food as he waited to see who the person was that had made the food. He would have a good talk with the guards about this. He hadn't approved for anyone to be here a oversight on his part. He wasn't made at the person but he was curious how they got past his guards.

Calum heard some movement in the kitchen and frowned, wondering who or what it could be. He grabbed his gun and quietly walked out of his room and towards the kitchen. Peaking inside he relaxed seeing it was just the girl. How had she gotten in though? That wasn't his problem though so he left to fix himself a plate of food as the other men slowly started to walk out of their rooms and to the dining room. Calum noticed the general but said nothing as he ate his food. He wasn't too hungry so he didn't serve himself anything other than fruit.

Garnet finished her work and tided up the kitchen before leaving. She walked around back as she smelt smoke and then heard screams. " What?" She said as she turned and ran in the direction from where she heard the screams coming from. She froze as she stared in horror seeing more than half of the lovely town on fire. " Why?" She said and turned as she heard laughs coming from men dressed in the countries colors. She saw that they where the rightful soldiers that where suppose to protect this town and the land. She watched as the men barricade the doors so no one could escape the fire. Young children where shot just for trying to run to safety. She froze in fear not sure what to do. Suddenly one of the men turned seeing her there as he got a evil grin on his face. "So lovely. It would be ashamed to let such a beautiful flower like you met such a fate." The man said making Garnets skin crawl.

The day seemed peaceful but all good came to an end when screams were heard. Calum wasn't sure why people would be screaming and stopped eating. Instead, he held his gun and quickly ran outside, the men followed behind and were all surprised by what they saw. Who had done this?! Their own men had done this? No, why would they? It didn't make any sense. Screams were heard as people were burned alive. "We need to break that barricade now!" Calum ordered the others who were with him. "Shoot anyone who gets in your way!" he ordered and looked to another soldier. "You, go inform the general about this at once!" Calum ordered and looked around for the girl, she wasn't in there was she? The one soldier ran back into the inn where the general was seated, "S-sir! There is something you must see!" the soldier exclaimed. "Ma'am!?" Calum called out and when he spotted her, he aimed his gun at the soldier. "You there! Don't you dare approach her!" he ordered. "I am not afraid to shoot you if you do!" Calum warned seriously.

Phoebe's eyes widened in fear when she heard the screams that were heard. She quickly stood up and ran to the door. "Don't!" her husband warned. "B-but what if our daughter is out there!?" Phoebe cried with tears in her eyes. Her husband sighed, "We'll need to talk to the general but it's far too dangerous right now. We need to wait until everything calms down. If we walk out of here, we'll be hurt or killed." he said to her. Phoebe frowned and buried her face in her husband's chest, she was afraid, she just wanted all of this to be over already. She wanted things to be like they used to be.

The man turned his head as he laughed and suddenly pulled out his own gun and took Aim at Calum. He turned deadly quiet as he pulled the trigger and let the bullet fly right at Calum. He smiled already knowing it would hit the man. He turned his attention back to Garnet as he smiled at her. " I can't blame the man. Pretty girls are always worth the fight." He said as he walked over to her and grabbed her pulling her to him as he laughed and made her face Calum. " Now your going to watch this sorry worm die. Sorry but in this story I'm the Kinght and I'm saving the Princess from you!" He spat at Calum.

Garnet was so shocked she wasn't sure what to do. She looked at Calum as she saw the others that where with him helping to try and save the people. She closed her eyes as she made her choice. She quickly picked up her foot then drove it down hard making sure that her heel dug into the man's foot good. The man let her go screaming and cursing as she bolting forward for Calum.

Seth shot up out of his seat as he hurried outside. " Let's go! Defend the town and people!" He ordered as he himself ran off taking out a few men on his way to the town square. He barked orders as he ran helping where he could. It wasn't until he saw a man out of the corner of his eyes that he understood what was going on. He stopped running as he took aim at the man. In a matter of moment the leader of the group laid dead the men around him lost and confused. Soon the other group of men where disposed of. He sent his men around the entire area scouting to make sure the area was safe and to round up any of the other men that hadn't been killed. He started the work of figuring out what they should do next.

Calum widened his eyes seeing the man aim a gun at him. Was he really going to turn against his own people? Why did this surprise him? This was war and war was a messed up thing. Before he knew it, the trigger was pulled and even though Calum moved away, it still hit him right in the shoulder. His messed up shoulder that is. Calum cried out in pain, it hurt more than it probably would have if he was hit anywhere. He dropped his weapon and placed his hand over his now bloody shoulder. He was loosing a lot of blood and fast, his vision was blurry and he was sure it was from the blood loss.

The barricade was taken down and the soldiers quickly worked on saving those that they could. Sadly not everyone was saved, some people died but they tried their best to save as many as they could. Calum's breathing was labored, the pain was too much. The last time he had gotten shot it hadn't even hurt this badly. He looked at her as she ran towards him. Calum winced and looked over at the general then watched as the enemy soldiers were easily killed.

Garnet rushed over to Calum side. She wasn't sure what to do. She turned as she watched the General take care of the rash solider who had only moments ago held her captive. She turned screaming for help when one of the local doctors came running out of a burning building. The man looked supersized and rushed over to her seeing blood on her dress from having trying to stop the bleeding. Garnet showed the man Calum's wound as he man helped Calum up and hurried them inside of the inn seeing that it was well guarded and safe from the fires.

The Doctor looked tire and panicked as he looked over Garnet making sure she had no wounds. He then looked at Calum and narrowed his eyes for a moment before he looked to Garnet. " Bring me hot water and towels. We need some bandages. If you can't find bandages then take a extra towel and start tearing it into strips for me. Bring me some of the liqueur as well." He said as he looked at Calum. "Sorry for the pain boy. But we have to get this taken care of. " He said as he open up Calum's shirt and looked at the wound as he called out for Garnet.

Garnet hurried as fast as she could grabbing everything he asked. She came back with everything in time to watch them Doctor plunge his fingers into Calums shoulder to dig out the bullet. She turned her head as the doctor looked at her. He told her she had to be brave and needed her to be strong. She nodded as she watched him pulled out the Bullet throwing it into a empty cup. The Doctor spoke kindly and sternly to Garnet as he open the liqueur bottle with his mouth and then poured some onto a cloth some dripping into the fresh wound making Garnet cringing knowing it had to be painful. The Doctor didn't seem to notice as he put the wet cloth on the wound and applied pressure. She gently held onto Calum's other hand softly.

" We just need to get the bleeding to stop. I'm afraid he's going to in pain for quiet a while. My office went up in spoke. I don't have the supplies I need. For now let's try and keep him as comfortable as we can. I'll leave him here for you to keep a eye on. I need you to change his bandages regularly. It looks like he had a old wound that didn't heal right. I'm afraid what I just did without my tools isn't going to help matters. I wish I had my tools and supplies I could fix him correctly then. There are more I need to help. Garnet I need you here to act as nurse as I help others. Right now this is one of the safest place. So expect to be here a while. I'll let your parents know that your here and fine. Make the people I send here comfortable. If they ask for food make a soup if you can. Everyone needs water and to be watched. " He said as he left.

Shots were heard and all Lucian could do was comfort his wife who was in tears and trembling in fear. "Come with me, you need to try and relax." he said to her and led her to the kitchen where he sat her down and started to make some relaxing tea for her. "I know you're afraid and so am I, but we cannot do anything right now even though I wish we could. All we can do is wait for everything to calm down and when it does we can go look for Garnet and hope she's okay." Lucian explained as he looked over at his troubled wife. "I know." she managed to whisper. "Come now love, I cannot bare to see you cry." Lucian said and gently wiped away her tears before kissing her lips softly. "Garnet is a strong girl, she's proven that to us plenty of times." he said with a smile as he handed over a cup of tea for her.

Calum allowed them to take him back inside the inn, he already knew what they were going to do. He could have done it himself but having a doctor do it seemed like a safer choice. That, and he was too weak to put up any kind of fight right now. "It's...o-okay..." he managed to say, he knew it probably wasn't smart to talk when you were in excruciating pain. Opening up the shirt, if one really looked they would be able to see the scar on his waist from a previous wound he had.

He couldn't get himself to look at Garnet, not with his shirt practically off like this. Calum cried out in pain as he felt the doctor dig into his messed up shoulder for the cursed bullet. When the bullet was out, Calum let out a shaky breath. He didn't think he could handle this but he knew he had to hang on just a while longer before he could close his eyes and try to sleep. He winced in pain, feeling the liquor hit the fresh wound and was surprised when the girl held onto his hand. He cried out again in pain, feeling the doctor apply pressure to the wound. He knew he should be used to pain by now but this was worse than he imagined it would be.

By the time the doctor was finished, Calum was breathing heavily. So his shoulder never healed properly and that's why it always hurt, he should have known. After this, Calum didn't think his shoulder would ever heal properly and right now he was in no condition to fight. So much for protecting the people, he hoped the general wouldn't be too upset with him when he found out about this.

Garnet looked down at Calum as she softly stroked his head. She looked at his shoulder knowing he was in great pain. She was very careful as she wrapped the wound with the strips of cloth she had ripped. She didn't leave his side as she took a clean town and started to clean his face. She then cleaned his arm and hands making sure that he was free from blood. She frowned seeing the poor man like this. War was a ugly thing and as she looked at him she wondered who's boy he was and what mother was crying her eyes out thinking her son wasn't coming home to her. She felt awful knowing her own mother was more than likely at home crying. She had wanted to just impress her father and keep the men here happy so no one else would have to die. But instead people still died. Her eyes looked back to Calum as she tried to give him a soft smile.

" I'm sorry for causing you to get hurt. Thank you though. Why don't you get some rest and hopefully by the time you wake this will be over with. The doctor might be able to get some painkillers by then for you and others. He said that your shoulder had a injury to it before. I think if we can get some fresh supplies soon he'll be able to fix your shoulder so maybe you want be in so much pain. I don't have a lot right now for the pain. I'm sorry to be useless to you right now. I promise though that I'll try my best to keep you comfortable. If there is something that you would like to eat let me know. It's the least I can do. Maybe if I make you your favorite meal it would make things a little less...." She went silent as she looked at him.
There really wasn't anything more she could do other than feed him give him water and try to make him as comfortable as she could.

Seth had rounded up what was left of the rival army. He had his men help the people of the town as he and his officers dealt with the men. The men where monsters and showed no remorse for what they had done or tried to do. The men just laughed and spat in his face and his officers calling them dogs. The men said they where willing to kill anyone they had to to kill Seth and his men. It didn't matter who they needed to Kill to get at Seth and his men. This is what war did to people. It brought out the worst. He wasn't sure what to do with the half crazed men. Finally he had enough of their rants and knocked them out by force. He ordered his top ranking officers to watch them and shoot them if they tried to move.

Seth walked around looking at the damage. He watched as a doctor did his best to treat wounds with what little supplies they had. He headed around knocking on door checking on people making sure that everyone was alright and didn't need anything. He came to a large house as he saw a gold hair jewel that looked a little familiar. He reached down and picked it up as he turned it over seeing a large Garnet in it. His mind flashed back to the girl with the lovely green hair as he frowned hoping that this didn't mean she had been harmed. He softly knocked on the door afraid of what he might fine.

Calum didn't say anything as he let her tend to his wound. She was being very gentle, it made a ghost of a smile appear on his face. There really was nothing to smile about though, this was war and no one ever smiled in war. Only when the war was over, but he had a feeling that this was wasn't going to be over for quite a while. He was surprised when she cleaned his face, arms and hands but assumed it was something she had to or wanted to do. He didn't mind it. Why is she frowning? I'm not dead ma'am. Why am I worried? he thought to himself. He knew he shouldn't talk to her, his general had warned him but he wasn't just going to ignore her either. "Ma'am...is something troubling you?" he asked quietly. He noticed that she was trying to smile, everyone was probably trying to smile right now.

Listening to her, Calum frowned. "Ma'am, you should not apologize. This wasn't your fault. I should have shot him but I was afraid I could have hurt you as well..that's why I hesitated. My injury was my own fault." he explained to her, hoping she wouldn't blame herself for this. "Yes...it does. It's always been hurting me since that injury, so you can imagine the pain I felt getting a wound on that same shoulder." he said and shook his head. "You are not useless Ma'am, don't let anyone tell you that you are, understood?" he ordered and looked at his patched up shoulder. "Eating sounds wonderful right now Ma'am, will you be eating too?" he asked her and looked at her. "I don't believe I've seen you eat all day today." he pointed out.

Garnet looked up as she paused for a moment an gave him a soft smile. She looked at his shoulder hearing him as she thought how brave he was. She looked back at him as she heard him. " Ok then I'll fix you something to eat. Is there any particular that you want. " She said trying to be kind. She couldn't do much about the pain for him but she could at least try and cook him something he enjoyed. " Oh...I guess your right. But that's ok I would rather feed you first. With that shoulder it would be better if you let me feed you. Besides the doctor wasn't able to fix it right so I don't want you doing anything just yet until he is able to look at it again. He's a good man and I know he'll be back to check on you. Besides I'm sure you would like some rest. You lost a good amount of blood. I'll try and find you some clothes that aren't soaked in blood for later. I'm sure your General will understand. " She said softly she as she took the scarf from around her wast she had used to tie her dress down with. She was careful as she moved it under him and made a make shift sling for him. She was careful as she positioned his arm in it and smiled as she remembered she had the perfect thing to hold the scarf in place so the doctor wouldn't constantly have to tie and untie the sling. She was sure the constant motion wouldn't be good for Calum's injury.
She reached up in her hair undoing a large gold Garnet pin from her headband as she used it to secure the sling. " There we go." she said softly to him.

" The doctor said that I should give people only soup and water but I think it's ok to make something that would make you happy instead. Besides your the only one right now in my care. However I'm sure the doctor is right and there will be more. I never thought something like this would happen. So many innocent people today and for what I'll never understand. Please don't think I'm mean or harsh. I understand that you believe you are right in what your doing. And that you have a family some where that you are protecting. I just don't understand where men turn into monsters. Those men today where from here and yet they where going to kill us all just for a hand full of you. I wish this war was over. I'm afraid that by the time it is there wont be anything left on either side. " She said as she looked at him.

" Well that's enough about that. What shall I fix you? " She asked as she tried to smile for him.
