I found a unique mechanical pencil at a thrift store today...So of course I "had" to buy it.
I call my pencil hoarder on amazon...I should really sell off some of my mechanical pencils.
Anyhow, the person at the thrift store told me it was basically an "old school" mechanical pencil.
There's no "pincer" mechanism holding the lead inside. The lead is held directly inside a tube.
The whole mechanical pencil is wood so that leads me to guess it would a high grade mechanical pencil in it's day.
Even more unusual is it seems to use .9 leads. .5 and .7 being the norm.
Most people use .7 lead mechanical pencils for writing, which is what most people use them for.
