I’m Prof. Waffwaff and I’m here to guide you on your way to becoming a pokemon master!
Hopefully on your journey, you will learn how to catch, train, and battle with your pokemon into becoming the ultimate partners.

[[ok, so I’ve been working my ass off for the past week
doing everything in preparations for this event, and now it’s finally done! sorta.
Basically what’s going to happen here is that you will be catching pokemon,
raising them, and battling trainers that I’ve created for you.
Since I am going on an indefinite hiatus,
I’ve tried to recreate the pokemon game experience through elaborate planning.
While there are going to be some minor changes,
I hope that this event will be enjoyed in its entirety.

• Absolutely no bullshit. I don’t want any of it.
• Don’t critic my drawings, please. I could care less about how the shade of yellow I used for Pikachu is wrong.
• No editing of significant posts, which involve quoting and responding to any of my posts involving pokemon, trainers, or items.

✖ The gist of it

Ok, here’s how this is going to work. Since the event will be going on for about 12 days, half will be dividing into the “Pokemon Catching” session while the other half will become the “Trainer Battling” session. You can only join as a pokemon trainer during the first half. I will not be accepting new trainers during the second half of the game because it complicates things and I hate keeping track. I will post how long before the “Pokemon Catching” session ends, so be alert.
Since I am documenting everything to avoid confusion, if you want to become a pokemon trainer, you must first PM ME SAYING:

PROFESSOR! I want to become a pokemon master!

I will then reply:

Very good! Good luck on your journey! As a present, I’ll send you off with a little gift you’re going to be using them lot~

This is done so that I can record each and every trainer in order to keep track of their pokemon and items to avoid confusion. Feel free to pm me regarding questions about what you have. Think of me as your pokedex.

✖ How to Play:


I will, from time to time, post pokemon in this thread, like so:

(please note that this is an old image from my previous pokemon event. All pokemon have been redrawn.)

Under the pokemon will be a requirement that allows you to catch it. For example:

Bulbasaur has appeared! It seems to be wandering around aimlessly. It seems some number between 1 and 10 can catch it!

All you have to do is simply quote my post, and then follow the instructions into catching it.
In this case, you would choose a number between 1 and 10 in order to get the pokemon, like so:

Remember, YOU CAN ONLY CARRY SIX POKEMON AT A TIME. This is especially important during the pokemon battling session of this event. If you would like to switch pokemons, pm me, and I will give you a list of the pokemon you have already caught so you can decide which ones you would like in your party. Think of me as your PC.
And there you have it. That’s how you catch pokemon. Now know this, the requirements for catching pokemon can change at any time, from using dice rolls to answering questions. Please don’t be a poor sport if you don’t get to catch a pokemon. You will get MANY opportunities.

✖ Games & Rare Candy


How do you raise pokemon in this thread? Easy. Through rare candies. For those of you who aren’t familiar with them, they raise your pokemon’s level by 1 per candy. The only way you can obtain rare candies is through playing games, or finding them on the ground, like so:

There’s a rare candy on the floor! Who will get it?

All you have to do is quote it, saying something like “It’s mine!” or “I want it!” and the first person to quote it gets it.
For games, on the other hand, I will discuss them later. Please pay attention to the announcements.

✖ Trading Pokemannssss


Want a pokemon that another trainer has? All you gotta do is trade!
Only one per can be involved in a current trade please.
No bulbasaur for your ten oddishes or anything like that.
All you gotta do is:
Both trainers must pm me the following:

Professor! [other trainer involved] and I would like to trade my [your pokemon] for his/her [other pokemon]

And that’s it! I will then respond:

Congratulations! [other trainer involved]’s [the pokemon they traded] is now yours! Take good care of it!

✖ How to level your pokemon.

The only way to level up your pokemon is through battling or rare candies, which up a pokemon's level by 1.
Like the pokemon games, pokemon will only evolve when they reach the right level.
For example, after receiving any amount of rare candies, simply pm me with:

Professor! Please level up my [desired pokemon] by x [level amount]!

If you have the necessary amount of rare candies (you can save as many as you want), I will reply:

[Your pokemon] has leveled up by x [level amount]! It is now level [whatever it is now]

Say you want to level your pokemon by five, but you only have three rare candies, I will reply:

Unable to level up pokemon. Not enough rare candies

Feel free to ask me how many rare candies you have!

✖ Evolving your pokemon

We'll talk about level evolving for now. When your pokemon has reached the required level (as seen in the games), your pokemon will evolve, ie, Bulbasaur will evolve at level 16, Magikarp will evolve at level 20, etc.

Let's say you send me a pm regarding leveling up your pokemon:

Professor! Please level up my [desired pokemon] by x [level amount]!

If the level up happens to coincide with the evolving level, I will reply:

Your pokemon seems to be glowing! It must be evolving! Should I let it evolve?

If you would like your pokemon to evolve, reply 'yes' and 'no' for not letting it evolve.

But here's what would happen if your pokemon did evolve:

Let's say that Caterpie is currently level 4 before given the rare candies.

I reply:

Your pokemon seems to be glowing! It must be evolving! Should I let it evolve?

You reply:

Yes, please!

I reply:

Now, due to my several statements regarding how this event is going to work, I’m going to be extremely strict with those that don’t follow the rules.
Consequently, those that fail to understand the procedure will not be able to evolve their pokemon.

This event will last from 2:00 PM PST – 2:45 PM PST, and from 7:40 PM PST – 8:30 PM PST, meaning that the evolving event will occur twice today.

First, to evolve your pokemon, fill out this form and PM it to me:

FILL OUT THIS FORM SEPARATELY FOR EVERY POKEMON YOU NEED TO EVOLVE, BUT SEND IT ALL IN ONE PM!

Professor! Please give/level up my [your pokemon] [whatever it needs] to evolve into a [the pokemon it evolves into]!

For example:

Professor! Please give my Sneasel Razor Claw so it evolves into a Weavile!

Or

Professor! Please level up my Igglybuff’s happiness level so it evolves into a Jigglypuff!

Or

Professor! Please level up my Eevee’s happiness level in the morning so it evolves into an Espeon

Get it? You must know the condition/item your pokemon needs to evolve, as well as the pokemon it will evolve into. I'm not going to be extremely strict in this case, so as long as you understand what you need for it to evolve and state it in the form, I'll accept it.

Make sure everything is filled out, because I am only accepting ONE FORM PER TRAINER

If the form isn’t filled out, I’m sorry, but your pokemon will not be able to evolve and you will have to wait for the next event.

Luckily, this event is occurring today twice, so if your pokemon happens to not evolve during the first portion of the event today, you may try again during the second half.

Also, if trainers request that I evolve pokemon like Squirtle or Gastly that require rare candies to evolve, I’m voiding his/her evolving request entirely.

After the evolving event ends, I will look over everything, and post which pokemon evolves in the thread. If you do not see your pokemon, you have made error(s) with the form and your pokemon have not evolved.

✖ Battle List


For the battling session of this event, you will be facing generated trainers.
To try to make sure that every trainer gets a chance at battling, I’ve divided everyone participating into three levels. Trainers may only battle generated trainers at their level. To determine this, I’ve averaged the levels of each trainers’ pokemon.
Level 1 consists of:

Sadami
Kent
Dragoness129
Winter Wind

Level 2 consists of:

Seridano
.Simplicity.
Liztress
Wonder Boy
Lilith W
Hadsvich

Level 3 consists of:

Anglie
Dystopia
Peanut
Popcorn Gun

Trainers can still advance to the next level; at the end of today’s battling session, I will update this list.

Here’s how battling works.
A trainer will appear like so:

Level 2

Pokemon Trainer Mikey has appeared!
Roll an 8 to engage in a battle!
[dice]10[/dice]

The level on the left represents the trainers that can battle him, and the number of pokeballs represents how many pokemon he has.
Trainers will then roll accordingly. The first person to roll the correct number will engage in battle.
After I see that the number has been rolled, I will post this:

Level 2

[Your name] has engaged in a battle with Pokemon Trainer Mikey!
Mikey has sent out

Pikachu lvl 25!

This is how damage works:
A trainer will automatically beat the generated trainer’s pokemon that was sent out if the pokemon is at least 3 levels higher than the generated pokemon’s trainer.
Basically, you just need to post the pokemon you sent out after quoting the generated trainer post, and declare an attack that works with the pokemon you sent out

For example:

Squirtle, use Razor Leaf!

If I see this, I’m just calling it an INVALID BATTLE, because you really shouldn’t be here if you think Squirtle knows how to use Razor Leaf.

For a battle to be valid, you MUST declare a pokemon attack and it has to be compatible with that pokemon

So, if you did post "Squirtle, use Water Gun!" and your Squirtle is at least level 28 or higher, you win, and I will post:

[Your name] has beaten Pokemon Trainer Mikey's Pikachu. Pokemon Trainer Mikey is about to send out Gardevoir!

You may send out another pokemon that you have, or use the same pokemon.

Since the trainer has two pokemon, I will repeat the battling process:

Level 2

[Your name] has engaged in a battle with Pokemon Trainer Mikey!
Mikey has sent out

Gardevoir lvl 28!

Let's say you have an Absol, level 26. For pokemon (that you have) that are stronger types than the generated pokemon, but are at levels that are at least 2 levels less or more, than the stronger type wins. (ie, fire beats grass, etc)

So, if Absol is from levels 26 to 30, it wins.
If you sent out a Fighting-pokemon that is level 30, because it falls under the +2/-2 range, Gardevoir would win.

Absol, use Bite!

Even though your Absol is only level 26, it falls under the +2/-2 range, so it wins.

After beating all pokemon, I will post:

[your name] has beaten Pokemon Trainer Mikey!
[your name] receives 8 rare candies for winning!

If, however, you happen to lose the battle, the entire rolling process will start over and another trainer will have a chance to battle.
