I found this poem in a book called The Gatekeeper and I wanted to know what you thought of it. I personally like it.^^
"Invictus"
(Unconquered)
Quote:
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced no cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

It's a pretty good poem, not amazing, but good enough.
Oh, and 'straight' is spelled wrong. Sorry, I'm a nazi when it comes to spelling and grammar. XD

Bleh, I think it's too gloomy for a victorious poem.
I really like the last two lines though! :)

I really like this poem. I always like poetry or stories or anything w/ a dark theme or motif to it.
