Ick I always grate ginger when I'm cooking with it, but my parents don't. I think throwing in whole pieces lends a different flavor, but I HATE when I accidentally bite into one DD;

I have no problem getting ginger on my mule, but on this name, it just isn't near as frequent as fruit or frosting.
