I just finished reading the first book of the Anita Blake series. It was awesome. I was apprehensive about reading it at first book at first. However, it turned out better then I thought. The author knows how to weave a story. I love her writing style.

Hmm...I would recommend Sarah Ash's Tears of Artamon Trilogy (and a number of other things) if you're a fan of fantasy. What say you to that particular genre?

Fantasy? I likey. I'm a big fan of Robin Hobb, as you can probably tell if you've been reading the previous posts. And hmm... wheel of time isn't terrible either.

If anyone is into high fantasy, Lord of the Rings style, I would very strongly recommend anything by Guy Gavriel Kay. In fact, even if you just like teenage, realistic fantasy you should try Ysabel. It's not my favourite of his, but it's the shortest, and the lightest, content-wise.

My favourites by him are the three that make up The Fionavar Tapestry: The Summer Tree, The Wandering Fire and The Darkest Road. Best books I've ever read, possibly. It's basically your average magic world, various races, epic battle between good and evil story, but the story and the writing and the characters are just so good, I could read them a thousand times and not be bored.

He also has several other books, and I would honestly recommend every single one of them.

Hmm, I just picked up the Wheel of Time series. Going to start it as soon as I have a spare moment (which may or may not be some time this semester) ^.^; That being said, I was told that they are often likened to Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, which was an altogether amazing read (with the exception of Pillars of Creation...but very few seem to like that one). If you haven't read it (and you have some spare time) it comes highly recommended. The series is beautifully crafted, the characters make me smile, and when death occurs you can feel it.

I've only read the first three wheel of time books, but they aren't too bad. Third one is my favourite so far. And yes I've heard good things about the Sword of Truth.

Animal Farm is pretty good, I read it in class once, (not assigned reading, it was there and I was bored.) Hmm, if you like those, try Blind Faith by Ben Elton and 1984 which is by George Orwell, same guy as wrote Animal Farm.

No I haven't. As for Blind Faith, it's set in London (I think) in a time where it's illegal to keep secrets, everything you do,you absolutely have to share with the world. The main character breaks the rules and gets his daughter immunised, setting of a whole lot of nasty.

It was good, and that's true, it reminds me of a book called "Last Kiss of the Butterfly" which is about a girl who's with her dying mother on holiday, or remembering her dead mother, something like that (It saddens me that I cant remember.)

Gemini: I have no idea if it would be at your local library, lol. It's at my local library, if that helps.

nekkokid: If you like the dystopia thing, make sure you also look into Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It's my favourite of the genre.

carzeebear: I'm going to look into Blind Faith, that sounds really interesting.
