Hello Lord pickle! I have never eaten an asparagus in my life. So I do not know if they sound delicious or not. But raviolis are always a good thing. I ate a fried one recently and it was pretty good as well

Whaaaat, really, Hummy?! Do you think you'll ever try it or get the chance to?
Done right, I think they're pretty tasty. Can be a bit tough or stringy if not cooked all the way through. Some people will do bacon wrapped asparagus and that's pretty good also.

All pasta is great though! Mmmm fried ones too~ That reminds me of those fried lasagna things at Olive Garden. Our waiter once called it crack. xD

I think they look pretty, especially when they're really bright green. And anything wrapped in bacon is something I would give it a whirl. I don't know I've just heard weird things about it that when you eat it it makes your bowel movements green. Is that true?

Let's see, we have a lot of beaches. There's always a lot of good seafood to eat around them. It's easy to find a place that serves good chowder and clam cakes. You can take a ferry out to Block Island for more beaches or biking around the island or just shopping. There's Newport, a place with lots of fancy mansions that you can tour or a nice downtown shopping area you can walk through.

Providence is pretty packed with culture. We have Brown University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Johnson & Wales University here. Providence is big on arts and culture, so walking around downtown you see a lot of neat murals and stuff. We recently had PVD fest, which was a nice arts and culture festival with lots of musical acts and other performances, vendors, parades, food trucks. We also have WaterFire. It's basically bonfires in the river but they have music and other performances along with it. Sometimes fire dancers, sometimes boats with glowing fish.

There's a really thriving arts scene with RISD right here. There are a lot of small local art gift shops. We have a pop up flea market with artisan goods and antiques. I find that it's really fun. Oh, also we have a growing food truck scene. We have some really good food trucks!

We still have a Drive-in movie theatre in operation. We have a minor league baseball team, the Pawsox, if you're into sports. We have a ComicCon. It's just an interesting cross-section of stuff. And Rhode Island is really close to Boston and not too far from New York City. I've driven from here to Philadelphia and Washington DC both in less than a day. You can also head the other direction and get to Maine or any other part of New England pretty quickly.

Also, if you come in the fall, you can see all the pretty autumn leaves. That's a nice time of year. Not so crazy about the snow and having to shovel it, but I still like it here despite that.

Hmmm, it hasn't been green urine in my experience. I think it does something with the smell of urine also though?? But I've never been strayed away from foods because it does something to excrement. Well, except spicy foods. I'll pace myself for those because that second part isn't fun times. XD

@Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa - It was!

@Hummy - Asparagus is yummy, but as mentioned it has to be done right. You have to trim off the bottom of the stalks because they get pretty woody and stringy down at the bottom. You only want to eat the tender top parts and stems. I learned that the hard way. Personally, we almost always just steam or boil them, but there are so many ways to serve them. I just happen to live with old people who only cook them one way.

Yeah, it makes your pee smelly. Like noticeably. But it's still worth eating. I've never had it change the color of any of my movements. Now foods with artificial dyes on the other hand. I've had weird purple green poop....thanks Mardi Gras themed ice cream in purple and green!

That sounds like a lot packed in a little state. I love driving to the country looking at all the leaves in the fall

Come visit me and the fall and we can take a road trip and go to a maple syrup farm in Vermont!

I remember one vacation in the fall going up to Maine. I think it was like Moosehead Lake or something like that? It was so beautiful seeing that fall colors reflected in the clear Flat Lake it's it's undescribable.

@Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa - It's nice, but we only do it when it's warm. Nobody wants to look at Waterfire when it's snowing

@hummy - That sounds awesome. I've only ever been to Maine in the summer. My godmother used to live up there.

I do like watching it fall. I just hate shoveling. I'm going to have to buy a snow blower this year because I have a job I need to get to no matter what the weather is like

get one with a wide path, it helps cut down the time it takes to clear the driveway =3

I mean any snow thrower helps, but if it's just a little bit more per inch
go big don't go cheap, as I found out the hard way
cheap breaks dow and takes forever to clear the driveway

Yeah, that sounds like pretty solid advice. I've never used a snow blower before, but even I can see that those cheapy cheapy snow brooms or whatever would be useless. Need the heavy duty one.

A tip for preparing asparagus is to bend the stalk near the bottom until it breaks, moving up the stalk until it snaps. This will do away with the woody part at the bottom.
You can also scrape the outside of the bottom part of the stalk with a potato peeler to do away with the strings.
Overcooking it can make it mushy.
I don't mind eating it raw if it isn't old and woody.
