So, one year when I was younger, maybe? 10 or 11? Old enough to know what's going on ~ My siblings and I all got gifts that had comments like... "Girl Age 7 : Clothes and a doll" I wasn't sad because we got donated gifts, We were FIVE kids - how can anyone afford that! I was just upset because - one there was nothing under the tree for me. And two I kinda realized Santa didn't come that year.
It turns out my gift was still on the bottom of my parents closet ~ But ~ after that Christmas I've done all I can to make sure other kids who's parents can't afford to get them something - not only get what is on the little comment card - but something a little extra. <3

I would have liked to buy a few DS's for some teenagers this season - but alas - I could afford either one of those - or more stuff for several preteens. The preteens won out.

I don't give expensive gifts unless I know the person asked for it and they can use it. I don't give jewelry unless it's the 25cent kind that comes in machines at the grocery store.

i got a ten pack of white grannie panties that were gifted to my grandmother
and re-gifted to me.
embarrassed and worst gift ever.
i didn't even have anyone to re-gift the re-gift to,
well except back to grandmother.

Roachi ~~ used tooth brush holder.
you win!
but, hey it's better than a used toothbrush!

she was big into showing off what your present was too.
so i had to stand up and open the package and show everyone.
my cousins never let me forget it either.
to this day i have a fear of grannie panties!

no, grandma shops in her house.
funny thing is she has a whole drawer full of beautiful buttons.
i mean FULL.
some of them are from Poland and i would have loved that as a gift.
grannie panties, not so much.
especially the 'presentation' portion of our show!
