Soul Dracula

Story:
A group of vampires form a band and play in local venues, using their popularity to invite people backstage to drink their blood. This seems to work for them for a while, however, they quickly raise suspicion among local authorities who notice a string of murders following each performance by this band. The vampires must keep their secret, but it's hard when the authorities are hot on their trail.

Bio: Enter BIO here

Played By: Ava The Vampire
Name: Adam
Age: Centuries old.
Race: Vampire
Occupation: Band Member
Instrument: Drums
Bio: Adam was once a musician in the early 19th century in England. He was turned into a vampire one fateful night when he came across a beautiful woman whom he fell in love with that bit him and turned him into a vampire. That woman had since been killed, leaving Adam alone to wander the earth playing music as the only way to soothe his aching heart for the woman he loved.
Adam joined Opera At Midnight as the band's drummer, but is equally talented in many other instruments besides drums, including (but not limited to) the lute, the piccolo, the violin, the harp and the dulcimer. In his spare time he writes funeral music for the woman that he loved in the past, who was never given a proper burial due to her status as a vampire. Adam is very secretive of his life and doesn't share much of his past even with his band members. However, though he doesn't show it very often, he actually loves and appreciates his band very much.

Name: Trey
Age: about 100 or a little more. He won’t really say
Race: Vampire
Occupation: band member
Instrument: bass guitar
Bio: Trey was only 19 when he was turned. He doesn’t even remember the name of that vampire now. Rather, he was naive and got pulled into something he didn’t anything about at the time. He’s spent most of his time as a vampire alone (and his human life too). He had family, but he’s never had friends until the band. For most of his life he’s liked music, but he used to just listen. He traveled and was a fan of traditional music from quite a few countries including Japanese and Celtic. He fell quickly in love with modern rock though. Although he’s originally from England, he’s never been back there. His name was originally spelled Tre, but he has since modernized it.
He’s a very closed off person and the sort that needs to lock himself in a room to ‘detox’ after too much time around others. He does love music and he loves performing though. He doesn’t hate people. He just seems like he does. More than he keeps secrets, he just won’t tell anything if not asked outright. He’s most often seen with headphones in, ignoring the world.

Bio: Much like his fellow bandmates, Emil doesn't speak much about his past and he keeps most things to himself unless he deems it necessary to share. He doesn't remember a time when he wasn't a vampire, he just...always seemed to be there, watching the world around him changing and doing his best to keep up.
Though by nature a quiet person, he's very kind and can be quite sweet when interacting with others. Outside of performances he can often be caught with a soft smile on his lips, giving him an approachable aura and serves to be off-putting when people think they can take advantage of his seemingly delicate person. He seems to be a jack-of-all-trades kind of person, able to handle any tasks given to him with ease, though he prefers sitting down with a book and music.

The Cops:

Played By: Ava The Vampire
Name: Berit Brown
Age: 25
Race: Human
Occupation: Police Officer
Instrument: N/A
Bio: Berit is one of the youngest undercover officers in her unit as well as one of the youngest officers to receive awards for valor and service. She is a perfectionist who is very thorough with her cases, yet she will use every dirty trick in the book to get her criminals to face justice. She does, however follow the law to a T. She is also well trained in hand to hand combat, is a tough cookie who doesn't take shit from anyone and she will engage in physical fights over sexist remarks. She enjoys her work and believes strongly in what she is doing. Because she is not very social, she prefers to work alone on her cases.
Berit was sent to work on the case of the mysterious string of murders following the performances of the band Opera At Midnight after having received multiple calls from different people stating that their loved ones did not return home from an Opera At Midnight concert. She has since been researching the band and it's members, trying to find out more information on them and is en route to their next venue.

Adam stared down at his drumsticks in his hand, idly thinking. He was once again lost in his thoughts as he remembered her... The mysterious woman that he'd fallen in love with centuries ago. He couldn't shake her from his thoughts. Yet, he knew he had to for he and his band had just finished another concert. He always loved this period of time right after they'd finished a concert and right before they were going to welcome one lucky, or otherwise not so lucky fan backstage and drink their fill. It made his adrenaline rush and his heart pound out of his chest just thinking about the next person they'd get to drink.

Adam shifted uncomfortably in the seat in front of his drum set and set his drumsticks carelessly on the floor next to his feet. He was longing for it now... Longing for the blood. They haven't had any in a while, as their last concert was a couple of days ago. Adam needed to taste it. He felt a little embarrassed and how stir-crazy it made him to go even a few hours without blood. However, he felt safe with his fellow band members, knowing that they'd not mind him and his madness whenever they were so close to getting their drinks.

"If time could only move a little faster..." He mumbled to himself, and he stood up from where he was planted on stage and began to walk away from his set, backstage to find that one "lucky" person.

Trey was almost always the first person to leave the stage. The second the fans stopped cheering and the music ended, the second it was safe to leave, he would swing his guitar around to rest against his back and slip away. Usually he did so without a word, trusting his band mates to manage things without him and for someone else to pick a meal. It's not like he really cared who it was.

Leaving as quick as possible assured him that he got out before most of the fans started lining the back halls. Trey avoided the early-birds, using his small size to duck into his dressing room where he dropped down into a crouch, not bothering to turn on the lights. He was hungry, but for the moment, he just needed to be alone. Food was food. He long ago got over what the food was and honestly hadn't cared much from the start. It was just how life was now. Leaning back against a wall, he closed his eyes and listened for Adam and Emil. When they'd picked their meal for the night, he'd show up and join in, but not a moment before then.

Emil smiled even as his band-mates left the stage and went backstage. Adam was always a little testy when he was hungry and Trey often needed time to himself after a performance, which meant that Emil himself was usually left with the task of picking out their meal. He gently set his guitar down on its stand before alighting from the stage. His usual smile pulled up his lips as he entered the backstage area and thanked the crew for their hard-work. In the small space that separated the stage area from the back hall, Emil paused to take a deep breath. He could feel hunger gnawing at the back of his throat, but that was a constant feeling that never seemed to go away, so he had learned to ignore it a while ago.

Letting out the breath slowly, he pushed the doors open and waved to the crowds of fans that were waiting for him. Red eyes scanned the humans, picking through them until they landed on a lone girl, standing a bit away from the screaming fans and hopping on her tiptoes as if to try and catch a glimpse of him. As Emil moved forward, he could hear the disappointment from some of the others since they realized that he had already made the choice for the "lucky" backstage guest.

Holding out a hand, Emil's smile widened just a bit.

"Hello miss, would you do me the honour of being my guest for tonight?"

His words were smooth and he dipped into a bow, eliciting squeals of jealousy. When he felt the girl place her hand within his grasp, his expression saddened briefly but returned to normal as he straightened up. "Thank you all for joining us for our show today and for your continued support. Until next time." Emil called to the rest of the hallway's occupants before leading the girl away with him, keeping a firm grip of her hand.

As he lead her in the direction of the band's break-room he made idle conversation, listening to her speak and nodding when appropriate. Eventually they stopped in front of the door and Emil raised a hand to knock before opening the door and motioning for the girl to enter the dark room first. Once inside, he stepped away from her and to the opposite wall, his eyes easily seeing her in the dark as she looked around in confusion, calling out his name and asking why it was so dark. Adam and Trey should be showing up soon enough.

Adam didn't believe in changing his clothing for their meal. He didn't care if his clothes got a little bloody, he never wore the same shirt for performances twice anyway. He bypassed the dressing rooms but stopped for a moment, glancing at the door which he knew Trey was behind. He thought about saying something, but he knew that trey could probably smell the victim just as well as he could. Adam knew Trey liked to be alone after performances, so he decided against saying anything.

Adam approached the break room quickly, his thirst gaining the best of him, and he hesitated a little before opening the door to the dark break room. He liked to think of it as the dining room, and he chuckled at that thought, realizing just how mad he'd become since being turned. Nights like these were all the same, he'd finish a performance with the band and then he'd just about lose his mind right before getting to drink. He slowly turned the knob and entered the break room.

Hep is hunger began to show as he tried to cover his fangs which were starting to peek out from under his lips. His eyes adjusted easily to the darkness and he looked over at Emil, with wild, wide eyes, then he looked at the girl. He could be gentlemanly if he tried.

"Ah, Emil..." Adam whispered. "This one is perfect." Adam knew his band members had some sad feelings for what they did, he understood completely, but his hunger always turned him into a savage beast who could care less about the source of food. He slowly opened his mouth, revealing his fangs and he immediately approached the girl and grabbed her by the arm, easily avoiding her struggles as he went in to bite her neck, feeling absolutely no remorse, as his hunger overrode his morals.

He drank a little at least to satisfy the thirst he had and then loosened his grip to allow the girl to drop to the floor unceremoniously.

His guitar set away in its case and his favorite sweater folded in a chair, Trey slipped back into the hall wearing much less clothes than usual, considering his small size normally left him dwarfed and his fingers covered nearly to the tips in sleeves. Without the sweater though, his arms had long black gloves and bands. A few straps crossed over his chest and arm area, and a skin tight tank top didn't quite cover his stomach. The little white cat forgottenly stuffed in his belt he had to take back to save its whiteness. Not that the cat was particularly special. Just something a fan gave him ages ago. He kept it nonetheless.

The last time left him hurrying his step. He heard the second Emil opened the back-stage door and it made his eyes snap open as he salivated. Of course he never looked wild or crazy. He was never that sort even if he was blunt, cold, or caustic in his speech. Without making any noise to alert anyone to his presence, he walked back-stage the second the girl hit the floor. His expression didn't change.

Arms crossed over his chest, he gestured to Emil with a wave of one hand and said in as few words as possible, "Eat first." He preferred to take his time.

With an inclination of his head, Emil stepped forward and crouched next to the girl's body, lifting a section of her hair to his lips before propping her body up and angling her head so that he could bite into the junction between her neck and shoulder. He only drank enough to dull the pain in his throat before pulling away, lapping at the bite marks he left before laying the girl back down and stepping away.

Out of the three of them, he probably drank the least. Emil didn't really care to hurt humans for their blood though he knew it was inevitable. As he returned to his spot against the wall he bowed his head and murmured a prayer for the girl, asking for her forgiveness and for her safe passage into the heavens.

Once done he lifted his head and leaned back against the wall, mentally going over a layout of the city, trying to figure out where would be the best place to dispose of the girl's body. It would be disrespectful to just leave her in a dumpster...perhaps there was a convenient graveyard or morgue...

Once Emil was done, Trey crouched down, careful to keep most of the spilt blood off of him. Unlike the other's, he lifted a delicate wrist to bite into. Honestly, the girl was bigger than he was. It would be awkward to shift her to aim for the neck. He drank until he felt sated, not the least bit bothered by it. Placing the wrist down again, he looked up at Adam. "Just finish her already." Said blunt as usual, it sounded like a complaint or demand, but he simply thought it was pointless and a little cruel to draw it out. He didn't feel the same sadness that Emil did. Trey did try to understand that, but even though he had the cute cherub face, his personality lacked that same cuteness. He would be practical and kind when it suited the situation though.

He plopped down into a seated position and lifted eyes to stare at the other two, his expression not changing except his bright cyan eyes drooped a little with post-feeding drowsiness. Maybe after they got rid of the body, they could go out for a night stroll. He didn't mind doing that with the other two. He'd grown to accept them as something like family.

Once Trey finished, Adam quickly went back in to finish drinking. He always drank seemingly more than the other two, as he had a rather big appetite. He finished the girl as quickly as he could, while still taking time to savor the taste. Once he finished he allowed her lifeless body to slide to the ground again, not being phased in the slightest by it.

It always made Adam feel strange to see Emil, always so focused and concentrated right after they'd have their drinks. He knew Emil was planning where to hide the body. Adam had lost respect for the humans a long time ago when they murdered the woman he'd fallen in love with so many centuries ago. He wasn't ashamed of it either, it was what it was and he couldn't change the way he felt about humans for anything.

He licked the excess blood from his lips and straightened himself out, then turning away from the girl's body and walked towards the door. He was always curious as to why Trey liked to be the last person to drink, Adam always believed the fresh blood was the best. He thought about asking Trey about it sometime... He let out a long sigh before twisting open the door and stepping out of the break room.

He turned to his fellow band members and said,

"I'm sorry... If there was a safer way to get blood, I promise that's what we'd do." Adam knew his fellow band members probably felt guilt for what they did, and Adam knew he was the only member who could care less about the humans. But Adam still cared about his band and his heart ached to see them look so downcast. "But until then, what's dead is dead. I will help to bury the girl once Emil finds a place suitable." He left the break room, headed back towards mostly empty stage to retrieve his drumsticks...

When the other two were done with their drinking, Emil stepped forward again. He crouched down next to Trey and smiled at his sleepy expression. "I will quickly find somewhere for us to get rid of the body, when I return shall we go for a walk? It's supposed to be a good night out tonight." After waiting for Trey's response, Emil stood back up and went back to the corpse, pulling out a handkerchief from his pocket to clean up the spilled blood before picking the body up and arranging the hair to cover the bite marks, making it look like the girl had merely passed out, letting her head droop against his shoulder. "Excuse me." Emil carefully left the break room and nodded at the people that he walked past, motioning with his head to the body he carried as if to say that he couldn't talk since she was sleeping.

There was a cemetery a few blocks over. It wouldn't take him too long to take the body there and to bury it. He headed past the stage area and propped the door open with his foot, looking out for Adam. Thankfully no one else was running around. "There is a cemetery a few blocks away. I'll be heading over there first. If you want, you can head over with Trey in a few?"

"Good," Trey said, meeting Emil's eye for a brief second. Eye contact somewhat freaked him out in large doses. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly though at the other's suggestion, so close to what he'd been thinking in silence. He excused himself with a mumbled excuse that ended up completely incompressible. Half the time he didn't bother with that much, since he intended to come back. He just went back to his changing room and put on his sweater again since he hated to be cold and he would be if he walked outside dressed like this. As an afterthought, he stuffed the kitty into his belt again.

After rinsing his face off and frowning at a blood droplet that got caught in his hair, he went back out a side door away from the people. Circling around, he found Adam and stepped close, but still at an appropriate distance. He heard what Emil said from a distance and flicked his gaze away from Adam. "I'll help," he stated not because he cared to that degree, but because it was the correct thing to do, to offer help that was. Without another word, he fell into step just behind Emil.

The darkness outside was pleasant to Adam and he was basking in the cool, dank air of the city. He loved nights like these where they'd visit the cemetery the bury bodies, while, he didn't enjoy burying bodies, he just enjoyed the atmosphere of the nights. He took in a long, deep breath through his nose and after hearing what Emil said, and seeing Trey following him slowly, he began to follow as well, keeping up his pace with Trey.

He kept close to Trey as they walked, he'd grown rather protective of Trey, though Trey never spoke of his age, he had a feeling Trey was the youngest of the three. He knew it probably bothered Trey that he was this way with him, but he couldn't help his nature to protect his family, and his band was his family. He'd protect both Emil and Trey with his life when the need arose.

He let out a long sigh as they walked, his eyes darting around, always on the lookout for danger. He carried around with him a slight paranoia that they'd be attacked by humans one of these days. Given, they were stronger, faster, smarter than humans, he was still concerned for the wellbeing of his band and always took it upon himself to be prepared for any sort of a track that may occur.

He could see the cemetery slowly coming into view as he walked with Trey.

"I'll search around for a shovel. There's always a shovel nearby in these places..." He took the pair of leather gloves he kept in his pocket and slid them over his hands, always the extra precaution so's to not leave behind any fingerprints. And he walked away from Trey, searching the area for the shovel that was always lazily deposited somewhere between the headstones.

Though he was busy searching for the shovel, he kept an eye on Trey, he also kept an eye out for Emil who he knew was already there. It took no time to find the shovel, now all there was left to do was find Emil.

Just their luck. There was a fresh grave about halfway into the cemetery and Emil stopped next to it, reading the carvings on the headstone. Their victim wouldn't be able to have a proper burial with their family mourning over them but this was what it meant to survive as a vampire, he shouldn't be feeling remorse over every human that they had drank from. There was no helping it.

Emil set the body down, leaning it against the headstone before looking around for a shovel. The groundskeeper wasn't the best at keeping all his tools in the tool-shed like he was supposed to so it wouldn't be strange to find a displaced shovel somewhere on the grounds. Perhaps Adam or Trey would have found one by the time they joined him. They had been walking along behind him but after reaching the cemetery grounds Emil had darted off on his own to find a spot to bury the body. He seated himself on the ground as he waited and propped his head up with an arm, his eyes staring at the body. He wondered silently what it was like to be human...so fragile and easy to break.

Trey walked with his hands in his pockets, eyes perpetually straight in front of him. Although he didn't ever glance over, he felt Adam close to him nonetheless. He told himself not to think about it and he more or less didn't. Once they reached the graveyard, he glanced over at Adam to indicate he heard him, then went searching for Emil. He found him quickly and leaned down to look at the fresh grave. Lucky. Without much more pause, he sat down on top of the headstone, balancing with his legs crossed under him despite the relative small size of the stone.

Emil seemed a little lost despite the fact that he usually talked, considerably more than Trey did anyway. It was strange. He leaned down to poke the other man on the top of his head. "Stop staring at her." Because, it definitely wasn't natural, or healthy, or interesting to watch.

The shovel wasn't that difficult to find. Of course, the lazy groundskeeper had left it lying on the ground a few feet away from a rather eerie, yet beautiful statue that sat beside a tombstone underneath a sad, lifeless tree. He slowly bent to pick it up and held it carefully in his gloved hands. This wasn't the first time he'd have to dig a hole for one of their victims and it certainly wouldn't be the last, but every time he'd wander through cemeteries it always made him think of his past. He let out a sigh and looked up to see Trey leave to join Emil.

The smell of blood was still strongly wedged in his senses and he followed it to where Emil and Trey were waiting. Adam looked down at the open patch of ground where the grave was and he immediately thrust the shovel into the soil and began to dig. As he was digging he could sense heaviness in the air and he guessed it was Emil feeling sorry for the victim once again. He grumbled a little in his throat, this always seemed to happen and even though he didn't care about the humans, it still upset him to see his fellow band member so upset. He chose not to say anything, however, focusing his mind clearly on the task set before him. All Adam wanted to do was dig the hole, dump the body and get out of there as quickly as he could. He was always suspicious that someday, some how, if they weren't careful, they'd be discovered. He couldn't live with the thought of his band, his friends, dying because of what they were.

He continued to dig as his mind began to wander a little, overthinking everything as usual. Once he'd finished digging he thrust the shovel into the ground beside his feet and motioned with his hands to Wmil to throw the body inside.

"We should hurry before it gets light out. Especially if we're to take a walk after this." Adam stated. He didn't mean to sound like he didn't care about Emil's feelings, truth was, he just wanted to hurry to take the walk and leave behind the evidence of their meal, in hopes that maybe walking and getting some fresh, night air might calm his friend's troubled mind.

Emil immediately broke his gaze at Trey's words and lifted his gaze, smiling in a carefree manner at him, all traces of his melancholy suddenly gone. "Sorry, was I being strange?"

He stood up and brushed off the clinging dirt from his clothes and quickly scooped the body up, carefully depositing her into the hole that Adam had dug out. Emil knew he had to stop overthinking these things. He was only causing his bandmates to worry unnecessarily. They were the important ones now. He straightened up after dropping the body and stretched, the cool night air felt nice against his skin and he didn't bother fixing his sweater, half of it already falling off his shoulders, as he moved to stand behind Trey, leaning his own weight against Trey's back.

Trey's words were often blunt and Adam's words were often harsh. Emil had to wonder how he had ended up with a pair like that. He chuckled softly to himself. Well, no matter, despite how they acted he understood that they all considered one another like family, so he could put up with any measure of rudeness from family.

"Where should we go tonight?"

Although Trey had said he came to help, he didn't lift a finger to do so. He just sat on the stone and watched the other two deal with the grave and body. At least Emil was smiling again. A smile suited him and it eased Trey who rarely smiled himself, even if he sometimes wanted to.

Once they were done with that, he hopped down, dislodging Emil from where he'd leaned up against him. He pointed east where the sound of the city dropped off and another sound could be faintly heard by his sensitive ears. "There's a lake," he said. He didn't ask what the others wanted to do, but of course, if someone said they wanted to go walk on the train tracks, he'd be alright with that too. He'd just noticed the serene puddle of water on their way into the city before the concert and it would be like being in their own bubble alone.

"Come on. Let's walk."

Adam didn't cross Trey regarding where they'd walk. He just started walking wordlessly, going in the direction that Trey had pointed out. Usually he enjoyed taking walks with his band, but something about tonight was different. The air had seemed to change as though something awful were about to happen and he couldn't place what it was, exactly. Still, he kept close to his fellow band members as he walked with them.

As he walked he slid the leather gloves from his hands and shoved them into the breast pocket of his black jean jacket. Then he shoved his hands into the front pockets of his pants and lowered his head as he walked, he was beginning to feel a little tired, after all, putting his entire heart and soul into their music on stage did take a toll on him. He began to chew on his bottom lip, kicking around some stones that were in his path as he walked.

He took it upon himself to always be on the look out for danger, even when there were no obvious signs of it. He loved his band too much to let them perish. He kept close to his fellow band members and allowed for his eyes to dart around cautiously, though, he tried to make it appear more like he was studying his surroundings. After all, it was an unfamiliar place, he'd rather his band members think he was just curious about where they were instead of knowing that he was actually feeling a little paranoid about their safety.

Emil pouted just a bit when Trey suddenly moved and made him have to quickly right himself. He didn't mind where they walked and when Adam started off, he figured that he didn't either. He motioned for Trey to follow after Adam first before falling into step behind the pair. Emil noticed the way Adam seemed to be scanning their surroundings but made no comment. If there was something that could truly go wrong...Emil trusted that Adam would let the him and Trey know.

"A lake, huh? Sounds nice..."

It was certainly a place that suited Trey's tastes. But after that concert they'd just had, a secluded area like that would be nice for all of them to unwind in...if only Adam weren't looking so tense. Emil tucked one hand into a pocket and brushed his hair back away from his face with the other as they walked, looking around casually. Was someone following them perhaps?

"Wow, this place is actually pretty creepy at night..." Berit said to herself as she walked along the sidewalks of the city. No one was around, as it was pretty late in the night, she had assumed everyone had gone to sleep. She sighed, thinking to herself how it was strange that her captain had sent her out on this case that was so strange; a string of murders, following each performance of this particular band... All of her search results couldn't find any information on any of the band members, no birth certificates, no blood types, no physical descriptions, not even any goddamn library cards! She knew this band seemed very suspicious, something about them wasn't right... But she wondered if she really could link them to the disappearances of these concert goers.

She stopped by a bench near a lake. She never liked to travel by herself late at night, but she was too proud to tell her captain that she needed back up. She sat down on the bench and pulled out her cell phone, scrolling through the notes she'd taken on her phone.

"This is the city they played in..." She whispered to herself. "Why is it that I can't seem to find them anywhere? It's as if they played and then disappeared off the face of the Earth!" She was growing frustrated with this case. It had proven itself to be one of her most difficult, with suspects that had absolutely no history, it was almost as if these suspects did not even exist, and victims that never seemed to have any pattern. Sometimes their bodies were found, sometimes they weren't. Either way, she was determined to find the murderers and bring them to justice. This was the 21st century, after all. Everyone deserved justice in the 21st century.

She scrolled through the notes on her phone again, looking at the descriptions that she'd been given by people who attended the concert. So far, she'd seen absolutely no one in town who fit those descriptions. She began to think that maybe they'd already packed up and left and she'd have to start the search from scratch all over again...

The darkness was beginning to creep her out the longer she sat, she mentally told herself she'd just sit a little longer to go over the map of the city so she could pinpoint possible whereabouts of the suspects based on the information she had from the murders thus far. She pulled out a marker and began to cross off the places she'd already visited and made notes on the map of places she'd already been, but would return to again in another hour or so. If she still couldn't find these mysterious band members, she'd call it a night and call in to her captain and let him know she found nothing.

As they walked, Trey managed to insert himself into a place between Emil and Adam. Although he disliked the feeling of being surrounded by taller people, he didn't much mind it if it was them. "A lake. With water. And ducks." Trey nodded, going into more 'detail' about their destination. Would ducks be swimming at night? He moved at night, so it seemed like everything else did. He sometimes forgot that other creatures preferred the daylight.

Unlike his bandmates, Trey walked with his head completely in the clouds. It said a lot about how he trusted the other two. A part of him never thought about the dangers of the world. The other half just figured Adam knew what to do in dangerous situations between than he did, probably Emil too. Maybe because Trey got stuck as a teen in looks, he never quite grew into the role of adult.

As the wind picked up, a lone leaf skittered across the ground. He could smell the lake not far away now and he smiled before he caught another smell. It was just the tiniest hint of blood, like a drop that had fallen on the ground, but still warm and pulsing. From a tiny prick or scratch perhaps? The sort of thing one wouldn't even notice getting. Trey sighed and voiced what they had to all know by then. "Human." And far too close at that.

Adam immediately grabbed Trey by the shoulder and pulled him backwards into the shadows of nearby trees the moment he'd smelled human, just as Trey had spoken. The encounter was too close for comfort. He pulled Emil into the darkness of the shadows as well, whispering,

"Get back!"

They could have easily taken out that one, lone human. That was Adam's immediate reaction, but this human hadn't done anything to harm them... Yet, and this human was alone... They hadn't witnessed the band disposing of the body and they didn't even know that the vampires were there. So far, they were safe, but Adam wasn't convinced of that. He took much pride in protecting his band members, he'd not let them fall into danger simply because logic would have them believe they were alright.

"We should turn back." Adam stated, he knew the suggestion would probably upset his friends, but he couldn't risk getting too close to a human that wouldn't be their meal for that night. He was worried something would slip. He trusted that his band members were clever and wouldn't say anything suspicious, after all, they'd been drinking their fans for a little while now, they had to be pretty decent at covering up their guilt. But still, he had been a little paranoid that someone would catch on, the humans were definitely dumb, according to Adam, but not dumb enough that they wouldn't figure out why they were suddenly dropping like flies concert after concert.

"We should turn back now."

Emil had just caught the scent of blood in the air before he was pulled back by Adam. The other vampire was fiercely protective of his band-mates. Sometimes Emil had to wonder if it had something to do with his past, but the question was never brought up. They were all entitled to keeping their own secrets, so there was no reason to pry.

"It's a lone human..." The silver-haired vampire observed off-handedly, "We shouldn't...have any problems if we don't act suspiciously..." Emil turned his eyes to his companions and silently stared for a moment. "But if it will put you at ease, Adam, then we can head back. It's alright if we take this walk another night isn't it Trey?"

Since they had already fed that night it was probably best that they took safer precautions, if this human did confront them, chances were that the band would not be able to get away scot-free.

Turning around, Emil threw his arms around Adam and Trey, smiling calmly. "Come, we can just take a nice walk back to our hotel. We've done nothing wrong after all, just had dinner and taken a walk. It's all perfectly normal." Yes...putting it that way, there was nothing peculiar about their actions. Humans did it all the time. They would go out for a meal with their friends or family and then wander about until it was time for them to go home. So there was nothing strange about the three of them walking around in at night like this either.

Trey really, really wanted to walk by the lake. He went a little wide-eyed at being pulled back, but other than that, his expression didn't show much. It didn't show his disappointment. When Adam and Emil put it the way they did, he couldn't be forceful and say he still wanted to go. They didn't want to and they had their reasons. Good reasons. "Fine," he said in a small voice, more like a sigh. It was just a human. He hated interacting with them, but it was just a human. Adam didn't need to be so tense all the time and they didn't need to baby him.

Pulling on the ends of his scarf, Trey shrunk a little under the arm Emil threw around him. The other man called this normal and Trey nearly pointed out that nothing about it was, to a human anyway. It was however very normal for them and that should have been enough for anyone to understand. Humans should accept that. He glanced up at the other two, looking just a little hopeful. "Can we try again tomorrow?"

Emil stared down at Trey for a moment before laughing amiably, "Of course. It's a spot that you chose, we have to go there at least once, right?" There wasn't much Emil knew that he could do to make life easier for his friends, so any little thing that he could spare was given. Taking a trip down to the lake for a walk wasn't a hassle at all. And it wasn't like they had another concert for at least a few days. And if any problems arose...they would just have to dispose of them.

He just wished they didn't have to hide away like this all the time. Popularity as a band aside, it would have been nice to be able to walk around without the constant worry of being discovered at the back of their minds. He switched his attention over to Adam. "There's no problem with us coming back is there?" While Emil easily agreed to most things, he liked to at least make sure the decisions were fine with everyone in the group before the decisions were made final.
