I awoke and looked around, I had heard someone talking about me being bit by a zombie. I wanted to tell them it wasn't a zombie bite, but I couldn't speak. Already I could feel fire running through her skin. I was shivering despite it.
I looked around as best as she could despite the dizziness that was taking over. I seemed to be in a medical lab. I could feel an IV on my arm and the sick inly sweet smell of sanitizer. I wasn't sure if I she was alone or not. Suddenly, I felt as if an my chest would explode and I would die. I sat up screaming then dropped dead,

I woke up an hour later. As I opened my light purple eyes, everything seemed brighter. My teeth felt funny so I ran my tung over them. "Ouch." I said as I cut it. I stopped, it just sounded like someone singing. "Hello?" I asked. There it was again, wait that was me talking. Sitting up I looked around, I was still in the same room, I guessed no one had come to check on me when I screamed. I flipped my feet over the side of the gurney and stood up. It felt so good to be on my feet again. I wanted to run around, but I knew that would cause suspicion. Suddenly I had an odd craving for something......I just couldn't tell what it was.

I am laying on the cot when I hear hurried footsteps comming down the hallway. A second later the familiar pounding on my door followed by a voice.
"She has awakened. It's causing quite a stir. It seem she has turned after all." Shay tells me, out of breath.
My eyes widen and I jump up. "Take me to her!"
The door opens and I am escorted out by armed guards.

They take me to the medical center where the woman was taken to and I follow them insde through the maze of halls.
We stop at a door at the end of a long hallway.
"She's inside." one soldier says with a frightened look on his face.
I smile gently to him. "It will be alright. You can leave now. I don't want any of you around when this door is opened. There is no telling what she will do."

I hated being confined. I felt like an animal. Especially since they refused to have any normal contact with me, they would always come in with biological suits on. I attempted to get out early, but they would have none of it. I didnt even how the guard from tower 4 in the room with me. They split us up, saying that if one of us was infected than they didnt want the other one becoming infected as well. I asked a one of the people that came in to take care of me if they knew whether or not his message had been delivered to Eli.
"Sergeant, I found the private that was sent to deliver the message, he said that he was not able to find Eli, however He did leave a written not of the message with the guards of a small building not too far away from the medical area. They said that she had gone to help the survivor that had been recovered."
"That's good enough for me." I gave up after that. I knew that was all that I was going to be able to get out of these people. I layed back down on the bed that they had provided for me. I lay there wondering what she was doing. I slowly fell asleep thinking of her. Wondering if I will be able to see her soon.

I hear voices outside the door and I look around, Theres no where to hide, if they know I've been turned they will kill me, with out thinking I jump to the ceiling on hold on. The only thing going though my mind is the fact that if they see me, they might kill me.

((I have edited and added things to the first post so make sure you read that when you get a chance))

I wait until the soldiers are out of sight before I slowly open the door. I Could hear the moving around on the other side and when I opened the door she wasn't standing anywhere in sight.
I enter slowly as to not scare her. Her new sences would be working at max right now and she cold probably hear a pin drop. After I had first awakened I had been scared and didn't know what to do. I would at least try to help this woman, even if she tryed to kill me.
"Excuse me, Miss?" I walk out to the center of the room and sit down slowly on the bed.
"I would just like to talk to you. It's only me here. There isn't anything to be afraid of. If you would please come out of hiding for just a minute?"
I sit there patiently waiting for her to show herself, knowing that it might take a while.

Everything was happening at once... Before I had stepped inside the training grounds, I heard gunshots from afar. "Not again," I muttered, pulling out my 45. Long Colt. Bolting toward the entrance, I struggled through the scattering people coming my way. It was understandable. All that was protecting them from infection were the snipers in the watchtowers.
I made my way to the entrance of the base, which was closing. Forcing my legs to stretch another foot longer in sprint, I was able to squeeze through the doors. I aimed my Long Colt and began firing at the approaching creatures. They were vampires, and were very fast. I had emptied my pistol without hitting a single one. Cursing myself, I loaded it up again. I jumped as I heard the roar of the TMP behind me. I looked behind my shoulder and saw Cyrus firing at them. The bullets tore up the ground in front of the charging vampires, slowing them down. I began shooting, and this time my bullet met with the bodies each time. Although bullets alone were obviously not enough to kill the beasts, but enough to slow them down to be slain.
As I shot, I saw a blurry figure sweeping through the crowd of vampires. I could barely distinguish who it was, but all I knew is that it was dismembering the vampires and tearing them apart. Cyrus's bullets had finally subsided and both of us gawked at the figure ripping through these monsters. No human could to that.
"It must be an infected one," said Cyrus, glaring at it.
"But it's helping us," I muttered, my brow furrowed. The person finally halted in place and looked up at one of the watchtowers. I felt my eyes widen as I saw who it was.
"It's that girl," growled Cyrus. I narrowed my eyes and heard the entrance door open; an indication that the vampires were all dead. As we returned to the base, Cyrus said, "We must report this..." Although I knew that Eleadah was helping us, it was too risky to keep her around. We must follow the rules of the base.
Klaus 23: If there is ever a suspicion of infection arising or an awareness of one, it is the responsibility of an Sergeant or an Officer to report this for the well-being of the base.
I had seen her enter in the hospital wing with several soldiers. Were they aware of her infection? I wondered. They must not be. All infections were to be discarded or imprisoned for testing. I sighed. But the scientists have not moved up to keeping human specimens. It was too dangerous. Infected humans have the strength of ten healthy men.

Cyrus and I entered the hospital wing. The girl was very close to the vampires, so she should be confined for testing of the infection. We came upon a shaken up guard who was walking toward us in a rapid pace.
"Excuse me, sir," I said, pressing my hand against his chest to keep him from moving any more. "You are a guard to one of these hospital dorms, I presume." The man managed to make a nod.
"So why are you not guarding the hospital room your are to be supervising?" asked Cyrus, glowering at the man.
"It was the girl that had been pursued by the vampires," answered the man. "A girl needed to get it..." Without another word, Cyrus thrust the muzzle of his TMP into the man's head. The man fell over, moaning from the blow.
"You idiot!" shouted Cyrus. "What the hell is going up in that mind of yours? No one is suppose to go in a possible contaminated room!" I could tell that Cyrus was having the urge to step on the man's head, so I put my hand on his shoulder and said, "We need to find that room now. Punishments will be sought afterward." Although Cyrus's impulse to crush the man's head was strong, he nodded and turned the man over with his foot.
"Where's the room, rookie?" he asked. The man lifted up a trembling hand and pointed to down the hall. "Room 109," he gasped. Cyrus lifted his foot and said, "Thank you." We started down the corridor. Standing beside the door of Room 109, both Cyrus and I loaded our guns. We stood patiently against the door for a few more moments, then Cyrus busted in. The muzzle of his gun pointed directly at the Eleadah.
"Move another foot and we tear you up with our bullets," I said pointing my gun at Eleadah's legs. "You are infected, so you are a danger to everyone here. Come with us and show no struggle against us; we will spare you from our bullets."

I just sit on the bed, my eyes wide. These men were obviously angry. Since they weren't looking around for anyone else they probably thought that i was the only one in here.
"You know it's not safe in here. Please leave. Before something happens to the both of you. I would like to avoid as many casualties as possible."
My head starts to spin and I close my eyes tightly. Something told me that these men had no intention of leaving, they intended to kill me. Something about rules. Infected. I couldn't pick it all up but i got the gyst.
"If you refuse to leave then at least close the door and stand with your backs against the wall and your weapons to your chests. I'm not the only one in here and you just made a crutial mistake in entering..."
I open my eyes again and try to explain everything to these men.
"The only reason I'm in here is because of the attack we had recenlty. It started because of a woman. She was bitten and stumbled on this place for help. I had hoped that she wouldn't turn... But she did. Just a little while ago actually. I was to be contacted immediately if she turned and that's why i'm here and not in the holding cell they put me in. If it makes you feel any better, I can't go anywhere without a host of armed guards around me."

The canvas in front of me was slowly progressing to a masterpiece. To the naked eye, the artwork was nothing but a blend of different shades of red. But the merging of those shades formed a picture. This time, I had decided to make a little girl in a dress holding her teddy bear. I made her hair cascade down her back in maroon ripples, the dark crimson that a werewolf is known for. Using the same blood, I made her large, innocent eyes darker by applying layer after layer. The teddy bear I had made a lighter scarlet, for which humans' blood is known for. In the case of the dress, I was making a mixture of those two including the vermilion of a vampires and a burgundy of a zombie's. I sighed with pleasure as I applied the blood of zombie's to shade the ripples of the dress.
"Lord Donovan!" cried one of my subordinates. Because of the sudden outcry, I had gotten the maroon mixed with the scarlet. My blue eyes turned to ice as I turned around to face my servant.
"If you did not notice, Kiyoshi," I spoke icily, "I am painting."
"My apologies, Lord Donovan," said Kiyoshi, kneeling down with her face to the floor. "My dearest apologies, but this is an emergency!"
"Then speak," I commanded. "It wouldn't hurt if you spoke it quickly, also..." Obliging my actions, Kiyoshi raised her head and said, "On the invasion of another humans base, the vampires and werewolves managed to infect most of the humans. Some got away, but they managed to find a lone runner. As they were pursuing her, another base was in sight and was taken down." I let out a hissing breath and said, "Exactly how many casualties were there?"
"About twelve," answered Kiyoshi, lowering her head to the ground again. My teeth ground together and I murmured, "How can twelve reinforcements be taken down by mere bullets?"
"The onlookers of the battle saw that one of their own had torn the others apart." Taken aback, I shouted, "How can that be? Was there a traitor?"
"None of the onlookers had recognized her," said Kiyoshi.
"Could it be possible," I said, pacing around my canvas, "that the humans have tamed one of the infected?" Kiyoshi remained silent, frowning at the words leaving my mouth.
"Could that even be possible?" she asked. My fingernails ground into my palms and I asked, "Did they infect the one they were pursuing?" Kiyoshi responded with a nod. Halting my feet, a smile spread over my face. "Then they must have their hands full."
"What do you mean, Lord Donovan?" asked Kiyoshi, showing perplexity at my grinning face.
"Send in another legion," I commanded. Kiyoshi gawked at me, taken aback by my words. "Send in seven vampires to secretly invade the human base in which twelve of us were slain. Give them the guise of a human and several officers all with a backpack in which a 900 gram mixture of ammonium nitrate and nitromethane will be placed. The explosives are to be located in seven different locations, but all placed in a building of some sort. One of the bombs shall be located in the hospital boiler room.
"After the bombs are located," I continued, warming up to the idea quickly, "you are to have a group of werewolves attempt to attack the base. This will set off lock down in which the mortals of the base will flee into any nearby buildings for protection. The explosives shall be detonated with fire, and before the one in the hospital boiler room is detonated, the gas line are to be cut. Any spark of some kind will explode the whole entire hospital. The explosions will occupy anyone that stands a threat against the invasion, and that's when we attack." I looked at Kiyoshi's astounded face. "Prepare it now," I said. "They will not be expecting a second attack so soon." Kiyoshi obliged and quickly left the room.
I smiled in exultation at my brilliance. I thought back to how a human, like myself, could obtain such power over these infected ones. At first, I just bribed zombies with flesh of dead people in my city. I had access to many dead bodies that soon all infected ones would do favors for me, like get weaponry and explosives. Favored vampires and werewolves soon became my advisers, who were exceedingly loyal to me since I was generous with my supply of flesh. My power soon became the power of my servants, like Kiyoshi. With my intellect and infatuation with blood, I had convinced everyone that I was a powerful vampire.
((This is my plan for invasion. If it is needed, I will make changes. But I want it known that everything in there is true. Ammonium nitrate and nitromethane are high-ordered explosives that are also known as ANNM. The same deals with the gas line of the hospital boiler room.))

Both Cyrus and I stared at the girl in disbelief. Was this infected person really trying to reason with us? Cyrus stepped closer to the girl, not obliging to her suggestion. "My apologies," he said, the muzzle of his gun not moving away at all, "but what would make me more comfortable is if you kneel down, put your head against the wall, and let us cuff your hands so that you could come with us. You are infected, hence you are a threat the subjects of this base. You have no authorized right to be in this room. Under the laws of this base, you have absolutely no rights at all. As I repeat, you are a threat against the subjects of this base." I quickly glanced behind me and around the room. Why would she be in here? I wondered still glaring her.
"Show any struggle," I said, menacingly, "and we will not hesitate to fire." Cyrus and I began closing in and I said, "If you want to prevent casualties, then you will follow our orders. Surrender, now, and we will take you out of here."

A slight movement caught my attention as the woman vampire moved on the celing. so that's where she was hiding. smart idea. I watch her out of the corner of my eyes to make sure she wouldn't do anythng rash. I tryed to send her a message whispering so softly that only a vampire's sence of hearing could pick up, barely moving my lips.
"Stay where you are. If you try to attack they will open fire and we will both be dead within minutes. If they see you the might attack you. I'm here to help you, I won't let them do anything to you."
I look at these two men, my eyes fill with tears.
"If you shoot me you would be doing me a favor. You think I like being this- this MONSTER? I never wanted to be like this. I used to be human and they attacked me one night. I'm not accepted as one of them because of..."
I cut my sentence off short and look away.
"If you haven't noticed, vampire's eyes are usually dark in color. Look at mine. Haven't you seen what color they are?"
I look back at them, my blue eyes sparkling behind my tears.
"I'm a mutation. Blood makes me sick, just the smell of it is enough to make me vomit. I survived off the remaining half rotted food, such as bread and fruits left by the humans in the buildings. I would never hurt any human."
I blink back my tears.
"I was brought here so I DO have a right to be in this room. And just to let you know, the infection can only be spread by blood or bite. Not by just being around me. So i'm not even a threat for infection. Unless you shoot me that is. If you shoot me you will both be exposed to infected blood and most likely quarantined to make sure you didn't get infected, and if you do become infected then you will be in the same situation you two have put me in right now. I saved your lives earlier so i think i have earned at least some trust and i won't lose what little trust i have earned by letting you two get killed because of your stupid mistake of entering this room"

I stand slowly but i don't move my feet. I place my hands at my sides and look them straight in the eyes.
"As I said earlier, you are in danger by being in this room. If you didn't notice, this is the farthest room in the hospital and no rooms anywhere nearby are occupied. Why do you think that is? I told you about something, someone. The woman that was chased by the vampires that tryed to attack the city. This is her room, and if you don't want to put your life in jeopardy I suggest you get against a wall and put your weapons down. She's scared and there is no telling what a scared newly changed vampire will do."

Ember moved on the ceiling watching the scene below. "Stay where you are. If you try to attack they will open fire and we will both be dead within minutes. If they see you the might attack you. I'm here to help you, I won't let them do anything to you." She heard the girl underneath her say, wouldn't the other men in the room hear also? She was scared, there was nowhere for her to go. The door the open but the other two men where standing in the doorway. My senses were going wild, I could tell every place the three in the room had ever been. I could sense there fear of the women in front of them, although they were trying to hide it with the air of Masculinity.

I looked into Eldeah's eyes and noticed that her eyes were not dark like other vampires. They were a sparkling blue. I let out a huff and said, "Infection is infection. You must come with us, no matter." Cyrus gritted his teeth and said, "Listen girl, we aren't coming to negotiate with you. I don't give a damn who let you in this room, you're infected and we aren't going to waste time with..." Cyrus's eyes widened and he sniffed the air. "The gas line's been cut," he murmured. A large blaring horn sounded outside. I gasped, "The lockdown alarm..." Both of us looked to the doorway and saw a metal door enclosing it. I jumped and skidded under it, and Cyrus after me. Before the door closed halfway, Cyrus stuck his TMP under it to keep it from closing. "Stay here and die if you wanna do yourself that favor. There's an opening if you change your mind..." Cyrus and I stood up and large explosion was heard outside and the ground trembled. I put my hand to the wall to keep from collasping. Another explosion erupted, this time closer. "We have to get out!" he yelled, and we ran down the bustling hospital corridors. We didn't concern ourselves with the vampire, only because she probably would survive an explosion.
The doors to the hospital exit were already enclosed with the metal shield. After several shots from my rifle, I managed to make a hole in the shield. Cyrus thrusted his foot around the edges, making a gaping hole just large enough for us to squeeze through. We exited the hospital only to be hit with another explosion that sent us tumbling to the ground. The air hung with strong chemical odors and an opaque grey mist. People were scattering everywhere, tripping over other people, and running into buildings.
"I can't believe this," muttered Cyrus. A second assailant after a failed one, I thought in disbelief. Those genius freaks...

I catch a whif of something that didn't smell right. Gas? My sences become sharper and I smell dogs as well.
"Werewolves!"
When the men ran out of the room after hearing an explosion and the alarms I quickly ran to the wall and punched a hole in it. It would be safer to get out as soon as possible rather than try to escape through the inside of the building.
I jump and grab the new vampire by the arms and drag her down from the ceiling.
"Come with me! I'll need your help." I glance at her when I say this and barely see her light colored eyes. I had to stop for a moment and take a better look.
"Violet eyes? That's not possible. I thought I was the only mutation..."
I hear another explosion and drag the vampire with me through the hole in the wall.
"I hope you can run fast. We have to help save everyone we can. You will help me, right?" I give her a pleading look.
Suddenly the hospital explodes and I duck to cover myself and the new vampire. Pieces of brick hit me and I grit my teeth together. I stand up and start running with the other vampire in tow.
"You go that way and evacuate everybody, carry them if you need to but be careful. You are stronger than you used to be as a human. I just hope you heven't gained bloodlust like the other vampires..."

My mind races as I try to search and locate Ken. I still loved him and after just getting to see him again I didn't think I could bare losing him again. His scent led me to a quarantine unit and I break open the door.
"Ken! Ken, where are you!"
I follow his scent and break open the door it leads me to. Inside, Ken stood staring at me.
I run to him and throw my arms around him. It had seemed like an eternity since I had last been able to touch him.
"I've missed you so much."

Another explosion reminds me why I came.
"We have to get out! Evacuate everyone you can, tell them to stay in groups. There are werewolves and who knows what else out there." I take his hand in mine, the familarity and the way they fit together like two pieces of a puzzle made my heart ache.
"Hold on and don't let go, I'm going to run." I grip his hand a little tighter and take off out of the room.
Once outside I give him one longing last look before I turn to go.
"I'll find you after this. Save as many as you can, and be careful."

I had been sound asleep when u large explosion rocked the base. Still not sure what exactly was going on, I could hear an alarm going off in the distance. I knew that alarm. I had been there the first time that they tested that alarm. The base was being locked down. Within 3 mins, another explosion went off. My heart dropped, it seemed to come from the direction of the hospital. That was where I am sure Eli was. I didn't really have too much time to think about it however, because as soon as I started to think about it I heard a clamor I outside in the hallway. There was a large bang and my door flew open.
"Ken!" Still not completely sure what was going on, I saw long blond hair rushing towards me. And all at once Eli was in my arms again. I couldn't believe what was going on, my mind was racing, thinking of all the times before the outbreak when it was just me and her, and then I saw that horrible memory of her being dragged away be the vamps. That thought and yet another explosion snapped me back to the present. She pulled me out the room and ran to the outside of the building. She went to leave and help save people.
"I... I..." I wanted to say it, so bad, but I didn't think that it was really the time to say it yet. She told me what needed to be done, and she ran off. I wondered when I would get to see her again.
" SSG Hemora! We need your help over here." I heard a voice yell from my right. A young private was trying to help move a few bodies of people that had been hurt or killed in the explosions. I ran back inside and grabbed my armor, my weapon, and my helmet. I ran back to the private and recognized her as the girl that looked like Eli. I was actually to look at her now with out my heart hurting. I put my weapons sling over my shoulder and I put the rifle on my back. I helped her move the bodies to a pile off the truck they were on.
"Are you working by yourself? I asked her, remembering what Eli told me.
"Yes I am.I was patrolling and my partner was killed in the first explosion."
"How well can you drive this truck? Cause I am with you now." I unslung my weapon and loaded a fresh magizine, then I pulled the charging handle back and I let it go forward again. I was now locked and loaded.
"I can drive the wheels off this thing Sergeant. I love to drive." She smiled as she said this.
"Ok then, let's get going. We have to make sure that the Major is ok" she nodded and took off. I picked up the radio talker, "attention all units, attention all units. Please advise, no one is to be left alone, every person needs to have somone with them at all times. Save all the civilans that you can, and do NOT give up that those gates. I don't care if you have to shoot a silver lined shell right ouside the gates, just do not give them up." We arrived at the Major's compound. What worried me is that there was no one that was standing right outside his tent. But I found out that everyone of them had been pulled in for extra security. I went about making sure that people were doing thay we suppoed to and not goofing off.

I wasn't sure what to do. The lady had said something about evacuating people. But there was no where to go, everyone was running around. The screams Of the Werewolves piercing the air. I was scared, I wanted to run and hide. But something kept me back...Something that was much stronger then me. I felt like it was my job to help these people. "Every, you need to calm down, If you run they will sense your fear!" I called out, not sure where these words of wisdom was coming from.

Me and the young private had been running around for a few minutes when I spotted a large group of people that were all huddled together. right in the middle of the road in front of the gate.
"Get away from there! NOW!" I ran towards the group, if any werewolf would pass by the gate he would surly try to get through the gate in order to attack the group. The private was still lost and confused, standing back where i had started running. As I got closer to the group I could hear my worst fear outside the gate, low growling. The kind of growling that says the animal making the sound will do anything to get whatever it is that he wants. Right before I got to the group it happened. In slow motion I saw the gate rip off its hinges and clash to the ground. The group of people finally realized what was going on, and started to run in all different directions. 5 werewolves bust through the hole where the gate used to be. I took a kneeing position and aimed and started firing on the beasts. One heard my shots and turned towards me. It rushed at me with all its force behind it. Right before it got to me i heard a shot come from behind me, and I could see the bullet go right through the beasts head, right between the eyes. It dropped and skidded to a halt right before me. I turned around and saw that the young private had made the shot.
"I got you Sergant!" She yelled to me, taking aim at yet another beast and began firing at it. I thought that it was amazing that she had progressed so much in so little time. A scream to my right snapped me back into reality. A werewolf had a young lady pinned against the ground, and was about to bite her neck. I aimed, took a breath, and fired a shot. It was a bulls eye. Right through the back of the head. The werewolf fall off to the side of the young lady, and she got up and ran to a building nearby. Soon me and the private had cleared all the werewolves that had made it through.
"Good job private......" I honestly never knew her name, and her body armor was covering up the nag tag on her uniform, so i figured that I would figure it out the proper way, let her tell me. That way i wouldn't be able to butcher it.
"The name is Sky Sergeant. Just Sky." She said, extending her hand for me to shake it.
"Well Private Sky, I know who is getting a good word put in for her marksmanship promotion." I shook her hand back. "We need to return to the Major. He needs to know that the gate has been broken. Hey you," I yell at a passing group of soldiers, "Guard that gate. Do not leave it, if someone tells you to leave, you tell them that SSG Hemora will kill them unless they talk to me. Got it?
"Yes Sergeant" They all replied together, and headed off to the gate. Me and Sky left and headed back to the Major's tent to inform him of the situation.

It was hard to see through the dust and debris in the air, but Cyrus and I charged through the mist, dodging the scattering people and letting our bullets upon the beasts. It seemed choreographed how we moved together. The two of us stood back to back, shooting at the shadows that lunged at us. Then we both sank to the ground, tearing at the feet of the beasts with our shells. The only troubles there were were the speed of the werewolves and the people that got in the way. No matter, we managed to shoot down any beast that came near us.
I snapped open the barrel of my Long Colt, stuck the rounds in the chambers, and snapped it back in the speed of light and continued to shoot. When two creatures came into my sight, I took out my shotgun and began firing that. Although the shotgun had a fine kick, I was able to take down both beasts with that and my Long Colt. Cyrus, no longer wielding his TMP, had his rifle at hand and shot with such accuracy and dexterity. It took him a fraction of a second to load each shell into the rifle's chamber.
Screams were emitted from all around, but I couldn't see the victim through the debris particles in the air. I sprinted all around, searching for the people being slaughtered. My heart was pounding and skipped a beat at every screech that reached my ears. I whirled around and kept searching, and the muzzle of my shotgun hit the back of Cyrus's head. He held his head and glared at me. Before he could kick me in the face, a thundering explosion tore through the sky and the ground shook vibrantly. Both Cyrus and I fell to the ground, and another dozen screams were emitted. "Dammit," I said hoarsely. My throat was caked with the dust particles in the air. I coughed out dust and looked up at Cyrus, who had already rose to his feet. His expression was an expression of despair. He flinched at the screams rising to his ears, and closed his eyes. I felt the overwhelming sorrow as well. It was the worst feeling. All around were people being slaughtered, and you knew that you could be of no help. They just died, without us even having a chance to save their lives.
I raised myself from the ground and grabbed Cyrus's shoulder. His blue eyes reached my brown ones and I said, "We have to keep going..." I wasn't sure if it was the debris in my eyes or what, but I saw Cyrus give me a smile. He raised his rifle and ran through the clouds of dust, with me following behind.
Soon vampires had raided the area, and I began to trip over body after body. Every time I blinked, there were more corpses on the ground. As I stared at the lifeless bodies of countless people, I heard the cry of Cyrus. I raised my head to see a werewolf toppling over Cyrus. His rifle left his hands as the beast attacked. I lifted my shotgun and shot at its head and upper torso twice, but then the shells were all used. As I struggled to load my shotgun, Cyrus let out a roar as fierce as the werewolves and stuck his machine pistol in the gaping mouth of it.
"Eat this, you fucker!" he thundered, letting the magazines tear into the beast's mouth. Patches of skin flew off the back of its head and it fell over, dead. I helped Cyrus up, who had suffered a gash to the chest. He cussed as I helped him move along. As we progressed throughout the corpse-covered base, I heard the sobs of a little girl nearby. I turned and saw a dark-skinned girl sitting against a building, weeping into her little teddy bear. "Go," said Cyrus, nodding toward the girl. I returned the nod and slowly approached the girl. She let out a shriek at my appearance, but I said, "Don't worry. I'm here to help you." I knelt down and looked into her puffy green eyes. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I rose, continuing to follow Cyrus.
The battle continued on, but there were more roars and less screams; an indication that there were few survivors left and many more beasts to be slain. The little girl had her black head in my shoulder, keeping her eyes away from the bodies that covered the ground. We walked passed the health wing, and in the doorway was a wounded Shirley. She looked up and screamed, "No!"
"Shirley!" shouted Cyrus, running toward her. She waved her arms away and I shouted, "Wait! Cyrus!" The health wing suddenly exploded, the little girl and I falling to our knees. I looked up and saw Cyrus standing toward us, his eyes in utter horror. Red trickled down both sides of his mouth, until it began to pour out. My friend fell to his knees, and his upper torso slid off of his abdomen... The girl wept in my shoulder... My eyes blinked once, then twice...
"CYRUS!"

I tore through one werewolf after another, I never let any get too close to a human trying to flee.
"Stay in groups, If You are alone it will be easier for them to hunt you down and kill you!" I yelled to one human after the other.
Soon they all got the idea and small groups were formed of people trying to flee.

My eyes seemed to play everything in slow motion. The werewolves moved at speeds faster than the humans and I could move even faster than them. A bullet passed by my head and I dodged it with ease.
Bullets! I need a weapon. I thought. I passed over a dead body and took the guns and bullets they had carried.
With a gun in each hand I shot at anything that wasn't human taking it down with perfect aim.
Ken had tought me once how to shoot and i had never forgotten. He had told me that he wanted me to be able to protect myself if he wasn't there. I smiled a little, I was protecting him now.

Slowly things became more and more quiet. I looked around at all the bodies around me. Werewolves, vampires, humans, even some zombies. This didn't seem right. The infected had always stuck with their races. To have all races attacking one place together didn't seem like a coincidence. Add on to that the explosions and it seemed like a planned attack. at this thought, I let out a hiss that surprised me.

I took off searching for the new vampire. I needed to talk to her, I needed to see where she stood. I started regretting leaving her alone when i didn't know anthing about her. But I had trusted her, something had told me that I COULD trust her so I had.

I stood there being completely ignored. Giving up on the humans I could sense that the other vampire was looking for Me. I ran towards her without knowing where she was. When I arrived in front of her I could tell that she had in fact been looking for me. "What's going on?" I asked looking around. It seemed everyone was scared, but she couldn't figure out why.

The new vampire finds me and we both stop.
"What's going on? " she asks.
"Something isn't right. Don't things seem just a little too, planned? First the explosions, then the attacks right when the base goes into lockdown. And the fact that every race of infected is here and attacked us." I reply.
My head starts spinning and I put my fingers to my temples."Not right now..." I mutter, close my eyes, and fall to my knees.

I see another town like this one burning, vampires everywhere. The woman running from them after her family was slaughtered before her. She arrives here and I take out the vampires that followed her. A man, Cold eyes, vampires telling him what happened. This man tells the vampires what to do and they listen. He laughs, evil intentions. He wants her. He wants me.

I open my eyes.
"This was planned. A human who controls the infected. He planned all this. And he wants us..." My hands are trembling and my voice shakes.
"He will use us if he ever gets his hands on you or me. They attacked the town you lived in, killed your family. Can you tell me everything you know?"

I looked away as the other vampire mentioned the human controlling us. I knew who she spoke of, he had ordered my family to be attacked after asking us to join him, we had refused. he ordered us dead. I had escaped...barely.

The creature had bit my leg as I was running away. Somehow it venom affected my blood and slowly changed me. My thought was with my running it made the transformation faster. I remembered hearing on the news when the first out brake happened that it took three days, I had changed in less then one.

The sick image of my commander and best friend in two pieces was burned into my mind. I saw his eyes... in terror and they glazed over as he broke to his knees.
"CYRUS!" I had screamed, scrambling to my feet tripping over the debris of the health wing. I saw his organs spewing onto the ground. I knew that it was hopeless to save him, but I kept shaking him. The little black girl in my arms had screeched and pounded on my chest. I had stood up and began to ran.
I ran aimlessly, trying to keep away from any beasts that came near me. Where's my gun? Where did I put it? My thoughts were scrambled, but I couldn't stop thinking and I couldn't start thinking. I left it! I'll go back... Dammit, Cyrus. Where am I going? I can't see... Where am I? I don't remember...
"God dammit!" I shouted, my voice cracking. I wanted to kill everything in my sight. I scanned the area for any people; all I saw were shadows sprinting across the base. I couldn't tell if they were human or beast. I shouted curses, and threw myself into the walls of buildings before I remembered the girl in my arms. I kept running and shot my Long Colt at anything that was larger than human. My gun was in my hands the whole time. "Damn, I'm losing it..." I murmured under the wheezes of my breath. I coughed as I ran, and frequently lost my balance. "Dammit..." Screams arose in the air and I shot toward them wherever they might've been. "Stop it!" I shouted, and the girl cried some more.
I spotted a huddle of people to my left and let out a gasp. I approached them like a mad man, swinging my arms and letting out wheezing breaths. Before I could join them in their group, a roar erupted behind me and I instinctively fell to my knees, covering the shrieking girl. The people let out screams and began to scatter before I heard the sick disembowelment of their bodies. Feeling blood splatter on me, and I rose my head to see the humans dismembered, shards of them scattered around the ground. I rose my Long Colt to the beast leaning over the gory mess, cocked it, and pulled the trigger only to discover that there were no more bullets. I sat up and rummaged through my pockets for anything. My pockets were full of debris and dust. I couldn't remember where the bullets were. I looked down, but my eyes were blurred and couldn't make out any details of what was on me. I remembered the Russian F1 grenades that were strapped around my chest on a leather sash. After detaching one, I twisted the safety pin out and tossed it near the ground of the werewolf. I then rose to my feet and sprinted away from the beast.
Soon after I was a good thirty feet from the werewolf, the grenade detonated, taking the werewolf's arm with it. Before it had time to react, another one appeared behind it and blasted its back. The creature let out a sickly death cry, recoiling from the spot it was blasted. I detached another and pulled out the fuse, then threw it at the werewolf. To my horror, the werewolf held up its hand and grabbed the bomb. It rose its head to reveal its angry yellow eyes and thrust it back at me. I let out a cry and leaped out of the way. Before the grenade even hit the ground, it erupted near by back and I let out a cry of pain. Throwing the girl out of my arms, I collapsed, sharp pains covering my whole back, like knives repeatedly stabbed at it. I realized that my back was on fire and quickly rolled around to put it out. The little girl stood up and smacked her teddy bear against the fire that engulfed my back. After less than a minute that lasted a lifetime of excruciating pain, the fire was finally out. Letting out pained breaths, I looked up at the little girl's frightened and concerned face.
"Hey," I whispered hoarsely. I gulped and said, "My name is Leon... what's yours?" The little girl clutched her soot-covered bear tightly and murmured, "Elsa..."
"Nice to meet you, Elsa," I said, giving her a wry smile.

"We need to find everybody first." I say to the other vampire. "My name is Eli by the way, what's yours?" I smile to her and offer my hand. "If we are going to be working together we might as well get to know eachother."

I hear explosions and turn my head to see the man, Leon i believe his name was, throwing grenades at a few werewolves. He had a small girl in his arms but his friend wasn't with him. I look around for the other man, cyrus, and see his body laying on the ground in pieces.
One of the werewolves catches a grenade leon throws and tosses it back just before it explodes. Leon falls to the ground when the grenade explodes at his back, throwing him to the ground. The werewolf moves in closer as Leon tries to put out the fire on his clothes.
"No!" I yell and tackle the werewolf before he could get any closer. I snap its neck and it falls to the ground with a thud.
Leon and the little girl introduce themselves and he smiles a little at her.

I walk up slowly and kneel beside Leon. "You ok? I saw what happened. Do you need any help?" I offer knowing that he would probably reject any help I offered him anyways.

"I'm Ember." I said as the other vampire run away. I was still confused, how was I supposed to save everyone? I couldn't even save my family...

I sat up and saw a face beside me. It was the vampire that I had met before. Although she was infected, I did not recoil or cower away. She had saved me by killing the werewolf that was pursuing me. I stared at her and let out a whooping cough. Phlegm filled with soot flew out of my mouth and the phlegm soon turned to grey vomit. The toxic air was making me too sick, and I knew that if the beasts weren't going to kill me, the chemicals in the air would. Elsa had been coughing frequently too in her sobs. I pointed to the little girl and gasped, "Get... her... out of... here..." I let out several more coughs and leaned my side against the wall.
The third-degree burns on my back were excruciating. If they weren't treated quickly, I knew that I would die. But I just put my head against the wall and coughed. Screams no longer reached my ears. Everyone in the base was either dead or had escaped the base. I no longer had the will to live. My partner, whom I had worked with for the last nine years, was dead and I wished to join him. The pain of my physical state and my mental state was too much. I had seen so many of my friends die, and many more people who I've been with for years. The base was done for. Everything in it was now shit and gore. There's nothing left for me...
"Get her out of here," I shouted in a raspy voice, glaring at the vampire. Unshed tears burned in my eyes, I closed them and returned my head to the building, breathing heavily . "It's all over... for me... I'm... too injured..." My voice began to crack and I gritted my teeth, saying no more. I mouthed 'Cyrus' and felt the cool streaks of tears sliding down my cheeks. "Please," I gasped. With a cry, Elsa collapsed into my lap and bawled in my chest.
"Don't leave me, Leon!" she wept, clutching my shirt. "Please, don't die!" I looked down at her and she looked up at me with teary emerald green eyes, a look of pleading. She shook her head. "You don't have to hurt anymore... You don't have to keep fighting... Just please..." She tightened her grasp on my shirt and shrieked, "Don't die!" Elsa sobbed in my shirt, crying, "You're all I have..." I slowly wrapped my arms around the girl and painstakingly lifted myself up. Her sobs quieted and she looked up at me.
"I'll do it," I said, smiling down at her. "I'll do it for you." Elsa smiled as more tears streaked down her dark face.
