Lmao yeah I get that a lot too. On New Years there was this one lady in particular who annoyed the hell out of me. I was sitting with my fiancee and some (ABC) friends. She comes up and sits next to me and goes "are you america?". I'm like, "No, but my friends are.", pointing to the ABC's. She laughs and calls me a liar. Then asks me what's wrong with my lip (it's pierced) and I told her "nothing". She then got out her camera and leaned over and started snapping pics with asking. She took like...10 before my fiancee got really pissed off and told her to get lost. She said she just wanted to make friends but she didnt leave. She stood up and walked behind me and continued to take pictures! My fiancee and our friends then escorted her from the table lol.

Wtf. :gonk: I probably would've taken out my cellphone and started taking pictures of her. :stare: So glad that's never happened to me before, but then again the states are a lot more used to having people of different ethnicity around than Taiwan is. :sweat:
Sigh...Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of those weird people. :sweat: I don't think it's as bad as it had been a few years ago, where local people would all stare at people who are not Asian. Now at least they don't stare so much...not from what I've noticed anyway. But it could be different for other places like Taichung. :sweat:

Years ago it was kinda cool. Young people would want your number to practice their english and ask you out for drinks. Now they just stare....It's the staring I can't stand.
