Gamzee could practically taste the thick smoke coming from his mother's bedroom. She seemed to be like this more and more now. They'd lost their previous house due to her weed addiction, and now they were stuck living in really shady apartments were only crazies and drunks lived. She'd promised to be better, and Gamzee honestly believed she wanted to be, but she couldn't let go of the drugs. And maybe she was better with them. When she wasn't high, she was hard to live with. She was cruel and loud and abusive. So he didn't try to change her. He had a part time job that he worked so they could survive, and she got food stamps and welfare. Now was his first day of school. It was halfway through the year and he'd had to transfer due to the move. "Mom...I need to get to school." She came out of the bedroom. "Oh...hey lil motha fucka...mm. Just chill lil bro...no need to he in a motha fuckin rush..." He sighed, seeing he was getting no where with her. He was sure to add just a tiny bit of eyeliner to his face, not wanting to do the whole clown shit today. That surely wouldn't make a good first impression (not that his uncombed hair and dark clothes were....and the fact that all his shit was purple..) He took one last look at his mom and then decided to walk to school.


Once at the school, Gamzee went on into his first block. He was a bit intimidated by the stares he received, but he managed to stay calm. After all, it could be worse. His skin had an almost unearthly parlor about it, making him stick out even more. The wild hair and amber eyes didn't help either. He sat at the back to avoid being around others, not wanting to draw anymore attention. Not on his first day at least. He wasn't the shy type, just uncomfortable around unfamiliar settings. He wasn't sure what these kids were like yet and he needed to see if he could make some friends. Not scare everyone away all at once.

Tavros was sitting in the back of class when the greyish boy in purple came in. He watched him curiously before looking at his work to not seem rude about staring at the new kid. He knew stares weren't fun.

Gamzee gave Tavros a little glance, but that was about it. He wasn't planning on making any reasons for people to mess with him. He hated people who bullied, and he didn't want to be a victim of said bullying, so it was best just stay away.

Tavros figured he would politely introduce himself to the greyish boy.

Gamzee had a closed off look about him, arms crossed and slouched lazily.

When class ended, Tavros wheeled up to Gamzee's desk. "u-uh.. H-hi!!"

He studied Tavros for a few moments. "Sup motha fucka?" He asked, a lazy smile tracing his lips.

He blinked a few times at the greeting, but just assumed it to be normal to him. "not much, sup with you?" he laughed softly.

Gamzee gave a very slight shrug. "Nothin really. Just trying to get good grades. A motha fuckas gotta get an education ya know? So he can bring home some miracles."

Tavros nodded, understanding what he meant despite the odd terminology. "I can understand that... O-oh! I'm Tavros, by the way."

He held out his hand for a shake. "I'm Gamzee. Nice to meet ya mother fucker."

He reached out as shook his hand. "nice to meet you!"

He nodded. "Yeah...it is "

Tavros was glad the boy wasn't staring at his wheelchair, or even asking about it. "what class do you have next?"

"Math I think..." He seemed a little off, speech just very slightly slurred and slow.

"do you know where it is..?"

"Yeah..took a mother fuckin tour bro." He smiled. "Thanks though."

He nodded "no problem..." a smile played across hi face "guess I'll see you later.."

"Sure thing lil fucker!" He called out, heading off.

Tavros wheeled himself off to his next class.

Gamzee staggered to his, sitting in the back again.

The edged on until lunch came around and Tavros was sitting by himself.

Gamzee came sauntering into the lunch room, plopping down in a chair next to Tavros. "Sup Tavbro?" He didn't have the money for lunch, so he just pulled out a Faygo and a pudding cup.

Tavros was looking at his sandwich with a frown. "stepdad forgot I'm a vegetarian..." the sandwich clearly ha some form of meat on it "you want it...?"

Gamzee considered it and took the sandwich. He peeled of the meat, then handed it back, along with the pudding he'd been about to eat. "There ya go..."
