In El'Saria, all types of magic exist. From the woodland elves to the cliff dwelling trolls, salamanders crawling through the deserts, and vampires that rule the nights--all here live in their own peace. The forest animals respect the hunters as the hunters respect them. For every good magic, there is an evil one. It is all balanced into a lawful society.

One day though, a great black rift is opened in the Southern sky. From it, a chaos begins to pour out. It is not something that can be seen with the naked eye, but from the smallest blades of grass, it begins to take affect. The forest animals start to mutate, one by one, into monsters unlike anything they have seen before. Without ability to reason, they attack and destroy with no purpose other than to corrupt. The chaos only grows, corrupting more and more of this peaceful world.

But the most interesting thing is how it started. In a small village set at the base of a range of mountains, that is where it all begins, on a day like any other in the peaceful land...

Rules and Expectations

• Semi-lit to lit. Please post at least one paragraph. Use grammar and creativity.
• Don't feel pressured, however, and write with what skill you have.
• Veteran and newbie rpers welcome
• El'Saria houses all types of fantastical and mythological creatures. If you can think of it, it exists here.
• There are no humans in El'Saria. The only exception is magic users for whom you could consider it their 'race' (ie: mage, druid, priest...)
• This rp is intended to be a LONG, possibly very long, term rp
• If you are unwilling to commit for hiatuses, months and months of story, and whatever curveballs this story might be thrown due to people having lives, feel free to write minor characters, take over an NPC, or participate in a side quest. I intend to leave plenty of room for more than one scene to exist at a time so character's might have a temporary place.
• At the start, every player is limited to two main characters. As the story grows though and more scenes start happening at once, you may create more.
• The crux of the story will be played by a main journeying party. Because there will be opportunity to run into new characters, both friends and foe, new character submissions will remain open at all times. We can talk out how and where to add in your character and possibly create plot twists. If you have something specific in mind, let me know.
• While I am the GM, I am not against help with developing my world and plots.
• I am also perfectly comfortable running a complex story myself and keeping this casual for everyone else to just sit back and enjoy interacting with the story.
•Romance welcome

OOC
•Hopefully this will be large enough to require finagling so don't be a stranger.

The Cast

Main Characters:

Shayla Elymas

SPOILERX

Species: dryad
Physical Appearance:
She’s slender and about 5’8” in height. Her body is at the peak of health with tanned skin and golden brown curls which she will never fully tie back. Eyes are hazel. Clothing is both feminine and practical without ever fully covering her body.
Powers/Weaknesses: Dryads are born from trees with history or long life. The older the tree, the more powerful the spirit inside of it and what that spirit is capable of doing. Because dryads are born from nature they have some control over it. They cannot create life from nothing or grow something to an absurd degree, but like an ultimate green thumb, they can unlock the fullest potential of any plant and then whisper to grow it in whatever way they ask. In times of great crisis, a dryad can also instantly return to their original tree which not even Shayla's closest friends know the location of. Her greatest weakness would be a land without any vegetation. Otherwise, dryads can be killed by any ordinary means. Their greatest boon is their natural ability to use any fertile landscape to their advantage and it is said that dryad's share some knowledge with each other through their roots, leaving even the youngest spirit wise beyond their years.
Short Bio: She is a dryad of moderate age. Many years ago, she traveled from out of the mountains and made a residence in the small town of Basick. She works as a waitress in the local tavern and is on good terms with most of the residents as someone that can be looked up to for advice or just an ear to listen. Little is known about her life before Basick though.
Most defining trait: Unbreakable
Other: She carries two long knives which she is proficient with. As someone first born as a tree, she struggles with the concept of gender and sexuality.

Akino Lightwings

SPOILERX

Species: Pixie
Physical Appearance:

She stands between four and five inches tall with a similar wingspan. Her wings are like a dragonfly's though they’re blue at the base with bits of blue glitter fading to clear tips. Her clothes are simple and plant based. A mix of feminine elegance and fighter in style. When using magic, her pixie dust makes her glow.
Powers/Weaknesses: Pixies are incredibly agile creatures in the air, made more difficult to hit by their small size. They can reach up to 20mph in a short burst, but average 5-10 for standard travel. Pixies struggle with long distance though and often have to hitch a ride. Some have been known to ride birds or even small critters. All pixies have a single magic specialty. For Akino, it is healing, though she is far from proficient. Her pixie dust is capable of instantly healing small wounds. Anything larger currently takes a lot of dust and time.
Short Bio: Raised in the woods outside of Basick, Akino is familiar with the town folk as she does some trading with them. She lives with her parents and siblings in a hollowed out tree stump. Ever since she could make the flight, she's been the one to travel into town, often making her own adventures along the way. She's yet to get into anything too serious though.
Most defining trait: Feistiness
Other: There are retractable spurs on her boots filled with a sleep poison. She takes extreme offense to being mistaken for a butterfly.

Gemini

Because of this, no one has ever seen a Shapeshifter's true form. They tend to choose one form that they prefer as a default, and then shift from that as they see fit. Besides simply shifting forms, they have the power of whatever their parent species is, and are able to learn other magics and skills easily. A Shapeshifter can be born to any species (in Gemini's case, her parents were Kitsune) and is seen as a rare mutation. Their greatest weakness is their true form. In addition, the full moon forces them to shift into a beastly form, and they tend to lose their sense of self. They can be killed by silver.
Short Bio: Gemini is a Shapeshifter born to Kitsune parents. She tends to wander, and hasn't really figured out what she wants out of her life yet. She tends to stay in her bipedal fox form.
Most defining trait: Emerald green eyes
Other: Gemini is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and has a fondness for blades, though she rarely has reason to use them. She can talk to animals and knows many Kitsune tricks, including fire magic. She keeps it a secret because it embarrasses her, but she never learned to read.

Roshan Loveless

SPOILERX

Powers/Weaknesses: can shift into a wolf form and easily killed like any other animal because other than they being able to change into a full body wolf there is nothing special about them.
Short Bio: Roshan has a large family that they took care of for the longest time until they were able to find freedom and took it. Now they are just wondering around, trying to find anything to do, to make as many new friends as possible and have as many adventures as allowed.
Most defining trait: Always has a smile no matter how weak or sad or small it is
Other: they carry dual knives for protection occasionally while in their humanoid form, they dislike spicy foods and have a small sugar glider as companion that you will always see sitting on their head.

Amaranth

Weak to fire, due to plant like aspects. Weaker in situations without natural lighting or plant life present.
Short Bio: Lara Kremers was born to a former warlock; who left a life of adventuring to settle down when his lover produced a child. She was the third one to be born in an otherwise normal family, but as she grew, it became increasingly clear that she wasn't so normal. The pact her father had made with a fey god had infected her spirit and given her the features of His power. She had always had green hued hair, but when she turned 5 her hands and feet started to gain a bark-like appearance and feel.
While her mother and father still loved her fiercely, she could tell that the sight of her unnatural features, strengths, and abilities made them uncomfortable. By the time she was eight, it had become all too clear that she was little more than a reminder of the past her father had turned away from, and despite their love, her parents would never be able to see her in the same way as her more normal siblings.
Having been kept from the sight of others and hearing the stories of her father's adventures and his former pact with his god, she chose to leave and follow the source of her existence, in order to give them an easier life. While they were reluctant, she insisted and left the day after her ninth birthday with a loving farewell and a hopeful future.
It hadn't taken long for her to find the nature god, and He took her in as His own, gifting her the name Amaranth. She trained to protect the forests that she now called home.
She has only met one other pactborn, a fiendborn she had taken a liking to. However, he followed his own source and lived to bring malice upon others, and when she had discovered his duties and goals, she felt betrayed and left him in her distress. Taking nothing but a ring he had given her and her ability to speak the infernal language of demons as he had taught her.
Now, she travels the forests of the world, protecting the creatures within and maintaining balance between nature and civilization in her own way.
Most defining trait: Her markings are bark-like in both appearance and touch, and so she has a natural protection for her hands and feet. Small purple flowers will occasionally appear at the roots of her hair that give off a calming scent and create a pleasant tea.
Other: Always has two daggers held on either hip, a short sword, and a tea set. A small grey tortoiseshell kitten keeps her company.

Elyas Glenn Firethorn

SPOILERX

Physical Appearance:
Elyas is 6'3 in height and has an athletic/lean body type from his daily flying and swimming exercise routine. He has sleek, raven black hair, dull grey eyes, short fangs and slightly pointed ears due to his race as a Phoebix – a rare specie originally derived from the union of vampires and phoenixes. Elyas can shape shift into a fire bat at will. He wears a white shirt, grey waistcoat and black tie along with a long, black trench coat.
Powers/Weaknesses: Elyas possesses exceptional flight skills when shapeshifting into a fire bat, capable of flying at impressive speeds. Being a nocturnal creature, he can often be spotted from dusk till dawn as a small orb of fire in the horizon. He perches on tree branches, guarding the town against criminals and night-stalkers. In the day, he sleeps until sunset. However, when he is working on a case, he will often forget to sleep or eat. His powers include the ability to create fireballs from his palms and shoot them towards enemies. When feeling intense emotions, his body will sometimes emit flickering flames starting from his back to his arms. He is fatally allergic to apples but enjoys all other fruits. If Phoebixes feel in danger, they shape shift into fire bats and try to fly as far as possible. They can be killed by shooting ice arrows towards their hearts, whether in human or bat form. They can also be staked like traditional vampires, except the stake has to have an ice tip for it to be more effective. Unfortunately, unlike phoenixes, they cannot be reborn after death.
Short Bio: Elyas lost his parents to an avalanche as an infant and has since lived with his uncle in a small village. As a recluse, Elyas lacks social skills and often avoids direct contact with others, preferring to keep communication to a minimum. However, this often makes him seem like an arrogant and unapproachable being. Beneath his icy surface hides a loyal and deeply caring personality. Elyas works as a Private Investigator, unmasking criminals and aiding law enforcers. Many years ago, after solving a particularly challenging case, Elyas was offered a permanent role in the police team as Chief Detective, but declined for he preferred to work alone. Phoebixes typically live long lives if they avoid danger. They are cunning and diligent creatures with fierce loyalties to their own species and a equal respect for others.
Most defining trait: Quietness.
Other: Elyas carries his father's most prized fire sword tucked inside his long, black coat. His other form of weapon are fireballs that he emits from the palms of his hands. He owns a black cat with sapphire green eyes that follows him every time he leaves his home, much to his reluctance. He is fatally allergic to apples.

Glacies Nobel

SPOILERX

Quote:
Species: Felin
Physical Appearance:
Glacies stands at about 5'9", with a well-trained body and legs akin to a cat.
Powers/Weaknesses: Felin are reclusive cat-like beings with a similar physiology to other mortal races (including, well, mortality), with the claws, agility, and hearing of cats. Each Felin is slightly different from one another, representing any number of traits of various cat breeds, though they generally seem to resemble domesticated breeds, with tiger or lion like traits being an extreme rarity. They have a talent for magic, though most use it to expand and enchant their already talented gifts of the body.
Short Bio: Glacies is a teenager by Felin standards, making her own way in the world as a traveling adventurer. She was born in a typical Felin village to a single father, and dreamed of being a mighty knight in one of the larger kingdoms of the realm. However, her temper is quite unfitting for a noble knight, leading her into many scrapes.
Most defining trait: Her boastfullness
Other: Carries a longsword. Is a picky eater.

The late afternoon light colored El’Saria’s sky in crimson streaks separated by the clearest blue skies. The largest of the two suns, Soraria, set first, taking with it the deeper red hues that made their sky look like a perpetual sunrise. When it set, the brief hours of almost sharp cut, pure light from Elaria signaled the come of night. It was a strange play of light to see the prettiest colors right before night despite the fainter quality of it. Elaria’s light could never compare to the sheer brightness of Soraria. Still, Braedek lived for the hours of evening light.

The tavern housed the usual fair who just got into town or those getting ready for the evening meal. It would fill more in the coming minutes, being the only place to get warm food outside of one’s own home. Set against the base of a range of mountains, the small town of Basick reveled in a certain degree of isolation. Although it served as the main pass-through for those going into the mountains or going east to the Faerie lands, neither trek was an easy one. So, for the most part, every day rolled by like the previous one—without incident.

However, as Braedek brought two mugs of ale to a group by the door, he found himself pausing. He couldn’t even tell what caught his attention yet, but something was off. Something perhaps about the quality of the light outside. Did it get lighter? More airy? Or was it a flicker in the familiar color? As the tavern’s owner turned toward the propped open door, the very sky let out a roar. White light flared out before quickly getting consumed by darkness. It did not turn to night because the entire world did not plunge into darkness, but shadows stretched into the tavern, startling all those present. It was as if the sky itself got consumed in darkness.

Nothing like this ever happened in Basick. Perhaps in any of El’Saria. Braedek lived enough years to know that so if he strong arms shook slightly as he threw the tavern’s doors shut, it was with good reason.

“Braedek?” a strong female voice called from the entrance to the rooms on the second floor of the tavern. A woman with tanned skin and flowing golden-brown hair stepped into view, her taut stomach muscles showing between the leather top across her breasts end the flowing skirt slit up one side. “What’s happening? I can sense something in the air.”

Shayla worked as a waitress most nights, but those of the town also knew her as a strong figure that could be relied on in both physical and mental endeavors. Braedek looked at her in relief though he didn’t fully relax either. “I’m sorry, I don’t know.” His eyes turned to address all those within the tavern, most of whom’s attention he already had. “Everyone, listen well. A darkness has come to our town. I know not what it is, but I have closed the doors. Is anyone willing to go out and investigate?” He swept his eyes over the crowd of beings that ranged from all types, searching all for their intent as he awaited responses.

Despite being a nearly six-foot tall, bipedal fox, Gemini found she managed to blend into the crowd at the tavern quite well. This suited her just fine, as she wasn't in the mood for conversation at the moment anyway, and had come looking only for a hot meal and a quiet place to think. The tavern wasn't exactly quiet, per se, but the noise around her became background noise to her whirling and shifting thoughts. She was just finishing her meal- no small feat considering she was using utensils- when something caught her attention. She wasn't sure at first what it was. A shift in the atmosphere, a shimmer in the air? The fur on the back of her neck began to rise, showing her unease. Just when she was about to stand up and leave, a darkness descended that felt unnatural. The tavern owner closed the door quickly, and the entire room fell into an uneasy silence as the patrons tried to figure out what was going on. Everyone's attention was on the owner, looking instinctively to the nearest authority figure for guidance. When he spoke, soft murmurs rippled through the crowd, most people mumbling some reason why they could not be the one to go outside. It was understandable, Gemini supposed. They were scared. She, on the other hand, was far too curious to leave things alone. She stood, attracting the attention of every other patron. She managed to hide her discomfort at suddenly being the center of attention, and cleared her throat. "I will go." She said, her startling emerald gaze locking firmly on the owner. "As long as no one objects, of course. Does anyone here wish to go as well?"

Glacies did not quite have the senses to feel the darkness like some others in the tavern, but the moment the owner spoke up, she did not hesitate to stand. She had done well to keep to herself for most of her time in the town, and only got into one bar fight the night before, (...hopefully, the owner didn't recognize her, but to be fair, that man had deserved the beating she had given him.) yet the thought of assisting in such an ominous quest caught her attention quickly. "I'll go, too!" She said, ears straight up and tail twitching as she approached the door.

Shayla offered a half smile as two others offered their assistance. She felt no need to offer her own assistance in words. With Braedek's eyes on her, she knew he expected it already. Probably, the whole town did. Not that she minded the expectation or the pressure it caused. Reaching the door, she paused for a second, not about to go outside without being fully prepared. Perhaps others might want to rush out, but she, like Braedek, felt more wariness than she had in a long while.

"Ready?" she murmured. "The disturbance is coming from...the town center, I believe. I will lead the way." And if needed, take responsibility for what happened. She didn't plan to take such control, but without thinking about it, she already took the lead. And why not? With sure hands, she pushed the doors open again, feeling the strangeness in the air in an instant. It left the hairs tingling along her arms and the trees singing around her. Danger, they called, but she ignored them.

"Good luck out there," Braedek called after her. "I'll keep the tavern safe." He held the door, waiting for all of them to exit before he could close it again.

Reaching for one of her dangers, Shayla glanced behind her to see the strangers who also volunteered. "My name is Shayla, by the way. I don't believe we've met."

Gemini waited while two others volunteered to go out. Well, one of them volunteered, the other seemed to simply be expected to go. Once it was clear there were no more willing bodies, the fox woman made her way outside, making sure she had all of her belongings before leaving. The three adventurers gathered outside the tavern as the door closed behind them, and the one who had gone silently finally spoke up to introduce herself. Gemini nodded politely to herm and gave a small bow- which was quite odd to see from a fox on two legs. "My name is Gemini, and I look forward to working with each of you, if only for a short while." She said.

Shayla certainly did hope it was only for a short while. Not that she disliked anyone here, or ever disliked really, but it was for the best if whatever lay outside could be wrapped up quickly. However, as she stepped down the grey stones of the street, the ‘wrongness’ in the air only intensified. Just by instinct, her eyes turned up to the sky. Above them, not far from the little dwarf sun, Elaria, a rift split open the sky. As if tearing through the fabric of their entire world, the rip showed only blackness beyond. Despite her strength, Shayla could not suppress a shiver.

"Yes....Gemini." She shook her head, trying to bring back her calm and address the fox woman properly. "Have you ever seen anything like this?" When she turned though, she realized only the one who spook stood behind her. The tavern door slammed shut, leaving them alone. Whether by force from inside or from the rush of wind the swept past them, Shayla did not know. She stared an extra second longer, knowing that everyone in this town had every right to run away and yet they were about to walk toward the source of the tear in the sky, and not as three, but simply two.

Shayla pulled her back straighter. "But I guess that doesn't matter. I have no intentions of backing down now."

Gemini didn't have the chance to answer before she heard a door slam, and turned to see that their third companion had disappeared. She shrugged, not bothered much by this. They each had the option to opt out at any time if they wanted to, she certainly wouldn't hold it against anyone who did. A moment later, she understood why the other had left. Looking up at the tear in the sky, Gemini felt her fur stand on end. Whatever it was, it was unnatural. "I also have no plans to back out. And to answer your earlier question, no, I have never seen anything like this before. I don't like it at all."

Shayla stayed silent for a second. Although she looked young by the standard of human types, her old tree lived beyond most years. For a second, her age showed in her dark brown eyes as well. Even with all her wisdom, she did not know what happened here, in a small village that nothing interesting ever happened in beyond drunken bar fights and the stories of adventures that the travelers brought. It seemed maybe, that they might be destined to become some of those travelers? At least Gemini sounded strong.

"Let's stick close," Shayla murmured as she started toward the spot just beneath the rip in the sky. It really did appear to have centered itself above the center of the town where open courtyards and the market lay, not doubt still laced with people despite the late evening area. That was the one benefit to laying at the crossroads between many different areas of El'Saria.

As they walked, Shayla split her attention between watching the path in front of them and the sky. Just as they reached the edge of the town center, something happened. Her eyes trained on the sky, she saw something shoot out of the tear, traveling with such speed that it appeared as no more than a streak of red and black. Shayla gasped, reflexively pulling back to grasp Gemini's arm in order to anchor herself. "What was that?" She cried out, her voice truly rising in volume for the first time since the two of them met. She squeezed Gemini's furred arm again, this time as if to comfort the kitsune woman. "Have monsters come from the sky? It can't be..." she added at a murmur, remembering various legends of old, though she could pull on no specific one to explain this.

Without saying a word, Shayla pulled away again and started toward the town center, her long legs moving at a near run as her long split skirt swirled about her legs. She had no intention of letting whatever came from the sky escaping her. She had to save the village people.

Gemini allowed the woman to lead, content for the moment to bring up the rear and keep an eye out for trouble. The closer they got to the tear, the more on edge she felt. It came to a head when her companion screamed, seeing something come out of the tear at high speed. Gemini's fur stood on end and she snarled, only just barely holding back from attacking something when she felt the woman's hand on her arm. She took a breath to calm herself, thinking back to stories her parents had told her as a child. "Anything is possible. I have heard stories of creatures that came from other worlds, though I never believed them to be more than stories." She said. The other darted off even as they spoke, and Gemini followed, not wanting to lose either her companion or the creature.

Shayla reached the town square first, not aware of how close her companion followed on her heels. She knew she shouldn't run ahead like this because it invited trouble, but reason left her for the moment. As she slowed at the edge of the familiar gray stones, she felt justified. A mass of people gathered at the town's center, almost blocking off their view. Almost. Past the cluster of people and the raised voices, a flash faded away, clearly a remnant of a moment already passed. Shayla stopped, staring in complete wonder for a second.

As if having just shot down from the sky--though she didn't see it exactly--a figure crouched, rings of scorch marks streaking the ground away from them. The voices around her became clear in a single moment.

"It's a devil! A devil!" they screamed "Kill it!"

Gemini skidded to a stop just behind her companion, her height in this form allowing her a slightly better view over the crowd. Her fur bristled, her body reacting instinctively before she even understood what she was seeing. "The crowd is panicking, this is dangerous. We must get them out of here before we can deal with whatever that is." She shouted over the noise of the screaming crowd. Whatever this was, it was dangerous, and even more so with people freaking out.

Roshan was rather enjoying themselves as this was was a quaint, thriving town that was perfect in it’s isolation from the world. Even though Soraria had set there was a still a beautiful soft light to the world, to the town that was busy providing people with the last message mute supplies they needed to either go deep into the mountains or down into the faerie lands before it shut down for the night. The wolf creature flicked an ear, smiling as they sat off to the side but more in the town center where everyone seemed to pass and avoid.

The blond’s attention was turned to the sky much like everyone elses’ as it grew unnaturally dark to the poiny that even the leader sensitive person could sense that something was wrong, that what ever was about to happen was going to be unnatural. Roshan quickly stood up, backing away from where they had been resting at to be able to gaze up at the rift above their heads. The wolf was one of the closest people to the creature that came crashing down from the gaping hole above.

Soon people were panicking, shoving and pushing, some tried to lash out at the devil they claim has come from the sky. The poor wolf was jolted, tugged, shoved around, getting glimpses of the creature. Glimpses of horns, red lips, good eyes and the rest just seemed to be blocked as their shirt stature and small build kept them from satisfying their curiosity of what it was. Being promptly shoved back into a couple of females, one that toward over the grey eyed person.

Gemini's words about panicking seemed to have come too late. By the time they reached the edges of the crowd, the turmoil already well begun. "Yes, we shou-oh!" Shayla exclaimed, cut off when a smaller creature with fluffy, cream-blonde hair bumped backwards into her. Shayla laid a hand on the person's shoulder, steadying them as much as trying to offer a calming balm. Which was weird considering her own heart beat unnaturally fast. How long ago did it last beat like this? The year of the Oakwoods' birth? She shuddered slightly at the thought, but pushed it away for another time. She was the wise one. She should stay steady.

"Gemini, you're tall and distinct, you should focus on trying to calm the crowd. If we are to fight a devil, we should do it without bystanders." Glancing down at the creature who had bumped into her, Shayla almost stepped past, but paused instead, deciding that fate might have played its hands in this.

"Are you good in a fight?"

Roshan had not been excepting any of this to happen and it took a while for their brain to catch up and process everything. They gave the girls a small smile. “Thank you.” They straightened their simple clothes, having regained balance with the druid’s help. Grey eyes turned back to the crowd that they had just been in until they were uncerimoniously shoved out of it. It seemed that there were other people that were getting the same treatment. Any kids with their mothers were fleeing the scene as well, fearing for the safety of their kids.

“I don’t know what a devil is suppose to look like but whatever that thing is... it has gold eyes, red lips, and horns. Nothing like I have seen.” Even Roshan’s voice didn’t give away to the idea th of their gender, a wider smile crossed that androgynous face, flashing fangs. A small brown creature popped its’ head up out of the cream blond hair, giving a squeak and chattering to the Druid as it seemed to agree with the wolf.

“If a wolf can’t fight they are not fit to be a wolf.” The comment slipped out easily, giving a small shrug while tapping the dual knives attached to either leg. “But to answer your question. I am okay...I usually play more as the decoy or distraction back in the pack.” Grey eyes had to look up but then again being rather short meant that the wolf was used to such a thing. “Don’t suppose you have a plan?” It was a poor attempt at humor and the smile that graced that tan face.

Shayla wasn't quite sure what to do with the blonde person who claimed to be a wolf. A wolf was good, a fighter type more so than herself. Although perhaps that might be giving the smaller individual too much credit. What she herself had more than anything was experience though so she would take what she could get. "As far as plans go, I think we will have to just rush in at this point." She had to raise her voice to be heard. Looking back over at Gemini, she nodded her head once. Although they had just met, she felt she could trust the fox woman to separate the bystanders from any fight that might ensue. "I can raise some vines to block the path closed if that helps. Join us as soon as the area is clear, okay?"

Drawing her two curved, ornate short blades, Shayla signaled the wolf person to go toward the right while she moved to the left. "We should attack from both sides. Keep the devil or whatever it is contained until more help comes. Be wary though. I don't know if you saw, but I think it came through that tear in the sky. I...don't think that creature is from this world." With horns and gold eyes, even she shuddered at the thought. Nothing in El'Saria should look like that.

Glancing at the crowd, Gemini nodded. She knew she could get the bystanders safely out of the way, so it was a good mission for her. She didn't seem surprised by the wolf creature that had suddenly joined them, only grateful for the help. "Very well. I will return soon." She said before setting off into the crowd. Even in the chaos, she was noticeable enough that she got people's attention fairly quickly. With practiced calm, she began directing everyone in an orderly manner, getting them all where they were safe without getting hurt in the process.

Roshan frowned as they listened to the druid explain her plan. They had to agree with her that it was much of a plan but it was a better plan then none at all. They took a deep calming breath before nodding their head at the female. Roshan soon watched as Gemini whom went to handle the crowd and vacate the area so their fight could go a bet more smoothly with out a bunch of innocent people possibly getting in the way. "I have to agree with you there. I can distract it and keep it here but we better figure something out fast. hopefully more people will come to help get rid of it." Their tone was hopeful before pulling their blades out, weaving through the crowds to get to the opposite side of the creature. Roshan waited for the signal before making their move. The wolf was quick on their feet, the small frame was an advantage since it was harder to be hit but it also meant that they used up a lot more energy faster in their movements then someone who was larger that had to take far less steps to get into the action they were chosing to do.

Keeping her attention between the devil they approached and Roshan in the distance, Shayla tried to match their steps. With the chaos of people on the street, it was hard to move at first, but by the time they reached the center, using the abandoned shop stalls as cover, the people thinned considerably. In the wake of her every step, fronds of grass rose through the cobblestones, bursting forth with vibrancy and life. Everything about the magic humming around the dryad woman screamed of birth, rather than death, and she wore this magic like a cloak of protection.

Right, time to end this. Using one of her blade to reflect a bead of light in front of Roshan, she signaled their joint attack. The devil itself seemed not to have noticed them and, in fact, seemed wrapped up in something entirely unseen to her. Hands grasped around its face, it howled, wrestling like it wanted to pull itself out of its body. Golden eyes blazed, alive with a magic that made her heart chill. Even the black spiked armor that could have been made from obsidian with the way it reflected the soft light of Elaria looked like nothing she had seen before.

Shayla charged forward, both of her blades held at the ready, one for an attack, the other protecting her chest because she did not trust. She did not trust that the thing hadn't noticed them. She did not trust that its pale hands that didn't match the black face carried no weapons. Barely two steps in, those golden eyes went bright with realization as they turned to stare right at her.

Running as quickly as she could, Amaranth followed the tear in the sky, determined as she ran against the citizens of the town. Although she was disoriented, it wasn't hard to see her destination above all of the buildings. The screams of frightened children and parents only increased her motivation as she jumped along walls and over people as she needed to. The energy was wrong, it even affected the forest just beyond the quiet town, and she wasn't about to let it stand. The ring on her right pointer finger glowed faintly as she approached the danger without hesitation, ignoring it's light without a care for what waited ahead. When the creature fell through the tear she picked up her speed, barely touching the ground as she made her way through the streets.

The girl, although of average height and build, seemed incredibly light as she reached the center of town with more people to avoid along the way. She jumped past a fox and stopped to take in the image of the creature, seeing two others already confronting the thing. She quickly jumped back into action, throwing herself into the air as she took out her sword and gave a quick test swing at it's back. She jumped back as the sword bounced off, looking to the other two for a plan she may have been missing. "Do we know what this is?" She yelled to them, watching the creature as it turned with a defensive swing and dodging from one stall top to another. Maybe one of them had found a weak spot already, or they had come up with some types of idea to discover such a thing. It's golden eyes were intense, but she didn't even flinch as she met them for a brief moment, refusing to show hesitation in her actions or fear in her eyes.

Just as Shayla was about to strike her dagger into the devil's chest, its eyes snapped away. Her blade skittered away from it's mark, instead scratching only scratching the creature across the shoulder. Rather than the planned attack from Roshan, a complete and total stranger had raised their sword and captured the creature's entire attention. Although she felt glad for the help, she was beginning to realize that no normal attack would work. Although Shayla's blade had torn through a weak spot in the armor, the stranger's sword met no mark at all. It was almost as if the creature glided away from the attack, repelling it with motions so quick that even her astute eyes could not follow.

"No!" Shayla gasped, sparing a look for the newcomer. "I haven't got the slightest clue. This creature-!" But before she could finish her thought, the devil let out a scream that sounded completely inhuman except the strangled words 'Stop it!' buried within. Shayla stood confused by the sound. Did evil truly sound like that? Actually, the more and more she thought about it, the less devil this thing seemed...? No, that was a reckless thing to think now, letting her mind get ahead of her body. However, she did not raise her blades for another attack, instead keeping them defensively close, her eyes watching.

The devil on the other hand seemed to move with a speed that made no sense. The second the green haired woman attacked, some kind of switch flipped. It darted clear across the courtyard in a single second, its body a mere blur of light. Then, a second later, it darted back, making a swipe for her with its bare hands.
