well yeah, that was close to the time it takes to scan a couple sentences to find the size of a snake, but it was still an arbitrary number picked to make my point.

it can be it's own paragraph in creative writing when you want to emphasis a line, but usually in formal writing, a paragraph should be 3-5 sentences.

a sentence can be one word as long as it's a verb/command. Stop! is not considered a fragment.
