Call this a Paranoia thread if you want, but I just want to see if anyone else is noticing anything strange.

I live in Chicago, Illinois. There is two things for me.

One, I've noticed for almost a week increased Helicopter activity over my neighborhood. While nothing serious has happened (as far as I know), we've never seen these many helicopters in our area before. Normally, it was a helicopter every other month, if that. They always come 3 times a day, for almost a week.

The Second thing, is the Murders. I know murder isn't an uncommon thing (where is not?) but everyone I talk to has been talking about some different murder, or another. This is also only the murders we've been hearing about. They seem to be coming up with increased frequency.

Anything strange happening to anyone else?

Murders increase in the summer! It sounds weird, but something about the heat just makes people a lot more aggressive. So unless you're talking about a trend that's been going on for 6 months, I would say that explains the increase in murder.
