I want to start doing some CG art and need help picking out the right program. I hear photoshop is pretty good so I noticed there was a photoshop elements that looked pretty good.

Can someone help me out with this?

I've been using Photoshop for years, alongside Painttool SAI for art.

If you're not able to afford those programs though, I recommend Krita as a possible alternative.
It is a freeware, so you can download it free for use. It worked a little bit like Paint Pro. :)

I use Photoshop CS3, it's pretty good ^_^ But before that I used to use GIMP as an alternative ^^

I tried GIMP, I didn't think it was easy to use. Lexadis, how do you like Photoshop?

To me, switching to Ps after using GIMP for a long time was hard. But eventually, I got used to it ^^ It works fine for me. Since it is CG you are going to try, I'm sure it'll be good ^_^ But I do hear some people saying that they prefer Paint tool SAI rather than Photoshop, but I never was able to catch the gist of SAI, maybe I will someday ^^ ((Oh and I couldn't actually buy Ps, I couldn't find any software shops near our home so I downloaded it for free )

Ah I tried to do at least the trial of photoshop but it won't let me even do that. SAI I haven't tried in awhile, maybe I will try that one.

Why no trial? Many people find SAI efficient to use, so I guess you can give it a go ^_^ After all, the ability counts more than the program, I'm sure ^_^

Maybe you can try the full version and see if it works for you ^^ I downloaded it here: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended + Crack Fully Working! {Jack1990} (download torrent) - TPB

I have a hard time using photoshop now because I've become so used to GIMP. I started learning on PS, but I always found gimp easier to use. photoshop elements has some things about it that are better than CS, but tools I really missed too. It's a cheap alternative

Project Dogwaffle is also free and really simple to use. Doesn't work for Macs last I checked though. That's why I stopped using it.
