My friend's dad told me a story about how he couldn't find a cordless kettle when they lived in America and people thought they were mad for drinking tea while it was hot. He exaggerates a lot though so it might not be true.

Apparently whoever 'they' were assumed Mr-My-Friend's-Dad would use the tea to make iced tea. Like I said, he exaggerated a lot so the exact truth would sometimes come behind what he thought would make a good story.
