It's slow because Mekania and I are each on a separate and self-imposed hiatus, I think ;) We used to be pretty ever-present doing things around there and trying to come up with ways to help the guild grow - if I ever finish putting together my OC request thread, I think I'll dedicate a whole post to the brilliance that is the guild (it's just that cool!).

I think I know who you're talking about. And I had the same negative connotation about him too, since I've heard that he's been a bad commissioner. He assures me that he's changed however and I don't see the need to really go after him for it. ^^ He throws his hearts in sometimes, but doesn't generally get involved in conversations highly.

Oh I recognize Mekania too at least. <3 But yeah, I know what you mean, I had my own guilds before and it was just horrible because I couldn't get them to grow - well I could but the management was ridiculous for one person to handle. GCG (Gaian Consumer Guide) that I ran was crazy because I was the updater for everythingn. XD I don't remember how I handled it. Sosocrazy. XD

I hope so, but I suppose what really matters to me is that his actions hurt the feelings of a fellow Gaian who is extremely talented and cool (who actually drew something for you recently, now that I remember) and who didn't deserve his disrespectful behaviour - I don't usually hold grudges, but she's a good girl, and I think he was just being manipulative and naff.

Though, all of that said, I have never exchanged one word with him in my life - ah, how judgemental and unfair of me ;)

I remember the GCG - I remember looking towards it for pricing advice back in the day. Excellent guide, but I can see how it could kill a person - it was a massive undertaking.

I think here's a good space for this kind of thread - maybe as the site grows they'll have more options/guidelines for this sort of thing? As for getting rich here, well, your posts are of a size that earns more gold than most, I think, so you're on your way ;)

Hehe Well thats good that I'm posting enough/long enough to make gold! I've gotten back up to 600 gold without too much effort despite losing the money that I did. XD

But yeah I know how that is, with the whole association thing. If someone hurts a friend of mine or they're upset, I tend to just take the friend's side despite never having spoken with the person! But I also know the flip side: People have judged me based nothing more than on someone's twisted opinion of me, but yet when they really met me on my second account they were surprised to find out who I was and stayed friends.

Though one particular person or a few decided to try to "expose" me haha that was such a hilarious try. Honestly I didn't care. I used it as a way to get my name out there and show people that I wasn't like what they thought. It was refreshing to start as a new player again and get to know people who thought of me badly and show them that I wasn't anything like what they thought.

But that said, I generally am wary of bad commissioners, but I think he's changed and so I talk with him in my thread. I see no point in making big drama yes? And if you want to post please do! As long as you guys don't talk with each other I don't see a problem, and besides he just posts hearts now.

Hm. It's not just my friend, in the end, really - I came to my own character judgement based on things I've seen him say here and there, as well. Additionally, and more importantly (which is to say: far less importantly), I don't like his OC at all. <- petty.

Yeah I dunno, but he is kindof odd and different so I guess I'm not surprised you feel that way? People I know are generally uncomfortable around him, except for a select few people who are friends of mine. I don't like to make drama/cast judgements until I have actually spoken with them though and its been a long time since I heard the rumors. Haha You don't want my backstory. XD Story of my Gaia life was drama and making enemies that I didn't want. Sadly I think it was because I was a rich new guy. Not a rich new gal. Almost all of the male Gaians I know in the art community are creepy, rude, arrogant, or all three - perhaps since my time on Gaia is confined to artistic circles, it's not surprising.

I originally had a "strategy" - it worked well for several turns ... then failed horribly, and then the threat of complete lack of funds loomed nearer. Part of me feels like I should give it one last try and risk it all - a very small part. The reward would be great, but the loss would be irritating.

The internet is a good thing and a bad thing, I have to say. Its just the fact that people here can't see each other face to face, and if you post something there's a level of detachment. But to me, at least, talking with people on here and the relationships you form are are a hundred percent meaningful! After all, I met my girlfriend Aya online. ^^

Hehe Yeah....sooooo about my strategy. It was as follows:

Bid 1 gold if you win, bid 1 gold until you lose
If lose, bid 2 gold, this is a total loss of 3 gold but winnings are 4 gold putting you one gold ahead.
If you lose that one bid 4 gold, giving you 8 gold compared to 7 gold put in 1 gold difference
If you lose that one bid 8 gold, giving you 16 gold compared to 15 gold spent, 1 gold difference
Lose that one then I assume the chances are higher to win. 20 gold would be the bid, giving you 40 gold back, but total losses of 35 gold so 5 gold difference.
Then double double every time. XD

BUT I ran out of money after it got to 320 gold! Which was really lame. :( I won that one, had I had 320 gold to bid I would have gotten all my money back + 5 gold.

Oh well. XD

What the heck, yeah thats so lame! I would never ask that of an artist, I'd just quietly earn up and pay for it or just not offer at all. Its just insulting. o_o But yeah I'm glad that you have a network of people that kinda acts as a support group or so, and keeps each other informed! But yeah! Tuition for top schools is always crazy, I think ours is relatively the same yeah? 40 thousand a year, but we do have scholarships and things so thats always good. <3 But yeah prices are set for a reason generally so that people don't get overworked and all. And because art skills take time to develop and are a valuable commodity, and there are a good many reasons to get more money for tuition and food and the like. XD
