FIRST NOTE: This RP is not yet started. Go to the OOC to apply!
Immortal Warfare OOC

I am an inexperienced RPer, so I'd like critique but be polite, please? The thread for this RP will be up shortly but do not post unless I approve your character. This is my first attempt at running an RP, though I have played in a few.

MATURE WARNING: while not graphic as such, this is going to be a bloody story and given that it is set in a medieval-like setting, there will be things such as Rape, though no graphic descriptions.

The Story
Thousands of years ago the Gods fought long and hard for dominance of the relics of the All Creator, the one who created the gods and had long since disappeared. To hold a relic of the All Creator was to hold dominion over all but one who held another Relic.

Armies of mortals were sacrificed in battles beyond a scale you or I could imagine. One alliance sought to make themselves more powerful with the Relics, to rule all other Gods, while the other alliance sought to destroy the other Gods with the Relics and establish their own natural order.

The bloody wars lasted more than one thousand years and decimated entire star systems as the gods sacrificed all to attain power, and hope for mortal kind was all but lost. To be mortal was to be a tool, a sacrifice in the name of your creator.

And yet there was a scattering of Gods who felt differently, who treated their creations as their children and were disgusted by the other Gods treatment of them.

Eventually, this scattering gathered and formed an alliance of their own, discovering when they came together that they possessed greater numbers than those warring, and forced the other Gods to stop the futile war and coerced them into agreements that bound them not to sacrifice their creations in such a manner, nor make war on each other in such a way again.

To prevent this from ever happening again, the Nuetral Gods, who had imposed peace upon the cosmos, thought of a devious plan to hide the Relics.

One God among them would sire a child to a mortal creation of his own and task this bloodline with the keeping of the Relics. As his children by blood, they would possess the power to protect the Relics. As mortals, they would not be able to use the Relics, and as mortals they would be at least partially protected by the treaties.

Our story takes place almost 1 million years after the War of the Gods, and mortals know nothing of it.

1 million years later, the defeated Gods believe they have found a way to reclaim the Relics and renew the war until one side emerges victorious.

The bloodline of the mortals tasked with protecting the Relics has grown weak, and their power has faded with it. None now remember what lies hidden beneath the shrine, nor do they take seriously their pact to protect it. They have grown negligent and lazy, fattening in the blessings of their God and have forgotten their duty.

To remedy this, a new approach has been taken. A mortal woman, the Empress of the land, already pregnant with a son, is chosen by the God, and impregnated with a Twin to the child. One is given a gift that defies the natural order of the Gods. The girl-child is freely given her fathers power and blessed with immortality. The boy-child is given unique powers and immortality to be a companion and protector to his sister. The family is charged with raising the children to be warriors, and each night the girl-child's Father comes to her in her dreams and trains her in the ways of his power.

7 years after the much celebrated birth of the Twins, it is determined that the boy-child will travel abroad to learn many fighting styles, and he is sent off the day before their seventh birthday celebration.

Upon the day of the celebration, the girl-child is presented before the masses as their princess and a great feast and fair is held in her honor, for she is a sign that their God has not abandoned them and looks favorably upon them.

As the evening calms and the celebration settles into a pleasant milling of light conversation and casual pleasantries, the sky flares red and a rain of flaming arrows fly over the walls and alight on tents in the courtyard and unfortunate guests. While chaos erupts, an army marches through the gate slaughtering all who stand in their path and continue their steady march until the leader of the army stands before the Empress herself in her throne room.

The man demands that the girl-child be handed over in the name of His God and promises retribution should they not comply.

And yet neither the Empress, nor any guest speak. The princess was long hidden by the time the Army breached the front gate, and not one among them would betray her.

So it was to be that that every person in the palace that night was slain. The Empress herself was humiliated, stripped and thrown to the common soldiers, where she was brutally raped before her throat was cut.

The river that ran beneath the palace flowed red with blood and swelled with bodies that night.

As things grew quiet, early in the morning, the girl-child ventured out, unaware of what had happened, but scared to her hiding place by the clash of swords and screaming...making her way to the throne room, she was confronted by her own mother's corpse sprawled naked on the throne with her eyes cut out and a river of her blood flowing down the steps.

Gagging in horror the girl-child fell to her knees sobbing.

The enemy general walked up behind her quietly and whispered in her ear about the horrible things that had happened to her friends, her family and her innocent people. He spoke of rape and torture, murder and destruction, and as the girl sobbed and gagged, he explained to her why everything that had happened was her fault. How everyone could have lived if she hadn't been so selfish as to run. How it all could have been fine if she had simply given up her power and died.

As the girl listened, her despair grew and became a raging storm that shook the castle to it's foundation, and unwittingly, she unleashed the full extent of her own power and leveled both the palace and the surrounding city in her anguish.

The man stood beside her in the rubble and told her that she was a monster, a freak. An abomination of nature that never should have existed in the first place, and told her to look upon what she had done.

The child, in her despair, flung herself into the now icy river and was plunged into the rapids and rocks that her own storm had called.

Cursing, the man sought to pursue her but was unable.

We come in near 10 years later. The girl-child, Eon, is 17 years old and doesn't remember anything before that night except seeing the body of her mother and looking upon the ruined town and knowing she had done it. AS she has blocked off the memory of that night, so to has she blocked off her own power, and fears it as she fears herself and what she can do. She seeks only to destroy the man who destroyed everything she held dear and knows nothing of her father, who cannot come to her while she uses his own power to block everything away.
