Where Rest and Enjoyment Reign

A small gnome named Fosco is responsible for the upkeep of the establishments of the Tavern and Inn. He has to keep long known enchantments reinforced. Keep in mind, the members have chosen to live during a simpler time, and this enchantment keeps forces and weapons unknown to it from operating. Mind you, one can see and touch them, but they will simply not function.

Iron Knight Tavern

Description: This is probably one of the more frequented buildings located on the Iron Knight grounds. Tucked away behind the inn and between the stables, the two story building is often boasting with voices and song. A heavy wooden door blocks the cold or heat from the outside. Like all the other buildings, the interior walls are made of a dark grey stone with wood support beams. The interior floor is a hard wood cypress, a yellow toned wood with multiple knots visible with the cracks filled with filth and mud from many feet walking on the surface.

The tavern is a two story building with a balcony overlapping half the tables on the first floor causing darkness for the shadow dwellers. When entering the tavern, the bar, made of white oak, is located against the left wall where most of the drinks are kept on the lower shelves. Behind the bar on the floor is a trap door that leads to the cellar where most of the beverages are kept stored and cool. On shelves that are visible are stacks of mugs that the bartenders reach easily and fill the patron's cups. A few seats are located up against the counter of the bar. The rest of the space is fill with tables and chairs for most customers to sit. Paintings, weapons, and armor shields cover the walls where windows aren't letting in space and wooden chandeliers hang to add more light when nightfall stretches across the land. A large fireplace is against the wall where the kitchen is so they both equal as a source of heat and cooking.

Iron Knight Inn

Description: The inn is the largest building located right on the road. A small wooden door blocks the entrance into a large, but cozy reception area. Feeling that equality doesn't just mean an equal in status, each room of the inn is equal in size and furnishings. There is a an oak staircase that curves slightly from the right at the bottom. The floors are hard wood red oak upstairs and down and in the rooms. Each room has upon the floor a light green Persian rug close to the foot of the cherry wood bed. A washstand is located near a door that leads to a private levee with a beautiful black and white pitcher and bowl resting inside. Straight across from it is the cherry wood armoire where guests and keep their clothes. During the colder months, the fireplace can be lit to warm the room. The fireplace is across from the bed. These rooms give a very pleasant and cozy feeling to the inhabitants.

Iron Knight Stables

Description: The stable, which was built before the inn, has been used for everything but a stable up until Evelyn and Aidian arrived and cleaned it out. Most of the old paintings and knick knacks around the walls came from the stalls. Now however, they are always in demand for horse stalling. Hay litters the ground all around and all inside the building and the smell of manure wafts around the whole building. Inside the dimly lit stable, the two stable hands can be found cleaning the horses and the floors. Their room doubles as the tack room, and every saddle that is not in use is kept safely in there. Two guards are posted outside the large double doors to make sure no horse is stolen and to help the stable boys if a horse starts acting crazy.

The stable is perpendicular ((connected like an "L")) to the inn, sheltering the tavern in the middle. The building is made of the same dark stone as the other buildings, but they have a light green moss from the rain and moisture. A dirt path leads from the front of the inn around the side of the stables and to the door in the back for the horses.

Rydelyn walked down the road, trying not to let her eyes stay cast upon the ground. She had always been taught to walk with honar and keep her head held high. Not that it matters anymore, she thought bitterly. Rydelyn stopped as she came upon a large building. The sign in front said the name was the Iron Knight Inn. This seems like an alright place to stop for the night. I can't stay in one place too long.

Rydelyn pushed open the door to the Inn and found that it also contained a tavern. She immediately walked over to the bar and ordered a pitcher of blood wine. I'll get a room later. I just want to rest and forget my trouble for now. Rydelyn cast her grey hues around the room. It was a nice spacious place. No place she would originally be caught dead in, unless she was after a bounty.

As she sat sipping her wine, she thought back to the events of the last week. She had been in charge of a raid. The Source had learned of a meeting of demon lords that wished to overthrow her master. She had been sent to make sure the meeting never ended. She didn't understand how everything had gotten out of hand, or how her own father was willing to kill her just to save his own skin. She remembered her mother's warning, They can track you in your demon form. With your high status, they will be able to find you. Rydelyn had been forced to stay in her human form. It was an attractive form, as humans go. She had shoulder length coppery red hair, a small almost emaciated frame, and grey eyes that seemed to contain a world of information.

Finishing her pitcher of wine, Rydelyn made her way to the desk, to get a room and sleep away the pain of the last few days.

Evelyn was sitting comfortably at the far end of the bar, with a simple glass of strawberry wine. Ianros left the pitcher for her with a few words about how she should be careful when drinking. She snorted in an unlady-like fashion, swirling the contents of the goblet before she took another drink.

Long red hair spilled down her back, cascading with slight curls from the proper style she had worn earlier when she had gone to meet someone of importance. It framed her small, hourglass figure nicely.

Placing the cup on the counter top, she turned in her seat to watch as someone entered her tavern, her mismatched eyes carefully weighing who she might really be underneath the quiet demeanor. It wasn't odd for this place to gather all sorts of people and creatures.

The crystal gem that was suspended on her forehead seemed to glow brightly of it's own accord as she wrapped herself in the void. She wasn't about to take any risk. Plus she had foolishly made open her inspection. A very foolish move indeed.

Rydelyn felt eyes watching her as she made her way to the desk. Casually looking around while the man at the desk found her a room and took her food order, Rydelyn saw a woman watching her. She noticed the gem glowing on her forehead, and became slightly frightened. What if she is one of those looking for me? She shook herself and knew that the girl was not a demon. No one but a demon would try to find me.

The man distracted Rydelyn by handing her a room key and asking if she would like her meal in her room or in the tavern. Rydelyn thought briefly and decided upon the tavern. If this woman is watching me, then I'll need to in turn keep an eye on her.

Turning back toward the tavern, Rydelyn chose a table in the corner of the room, so that she could watch not only the woman, but so that she could see the entire tavern. I don't need anyone sneaking up on me.

Rydelyn sat at her table eating her meal. She tried not to openly stare at the woman as that could be dangerous. Upon finishing her meal, Rydelyn got up and walked toward the woman. She walked up to the bar to order another pitcher of wine, and glanced back at the red haired girl, offering a small smile. We'll see if her guard softens a bit, if I can relax a little.

She had turned her attention back to her wine glass after the strange woman had moved towards the clerk counter. She watched idly the contents of her glass spin in circles as she swirled her cup. It was rare that she would even allow herself to get this far addled, much less stare openly at someone she questioned.

There was something strange about that girl. She didn't seem... human. But then she herself wasn't exactly human either, having eternal youth grated to her all because she could tap into such a powerful source plus what she already was.

She hadn't noticed the presence next to her until she looked up from her deep musing. She caught the offered smile out of the corner of her green eye. Maybe she wasn't so bad afterall? It had to have been the drinks. "I can understand that you're a traveler as well?"

Rydelyn thought for a moment on what the woman said. She wasn't really a traveler, but she supposed that she probably was to become one. Yes I suppose you could call me a traveler. I've just left home, so I guess I'm becoming one. Why did I tell her I just left home. I wonder if she suspects that I'm not human. There something different about her. I know she's not a demon, but what could she be.

Rydelyn brought herself out of thought and offered the woman another smile. I take it your a traveler. Would you mind if I sit? Perhaps you can tell me of your travels. I'm looking for a new place to call home. Perhaps you have heard of some.

She took a small sip before placing the cup back down, tapping her nails on the outside and making random tunes was she strummed her fingers. "Just left home, hmm? Running away?" That had been a foolish question and quite blunt. She shouldn't have drank so much.

"I've traveled to many places and stayed in the same place most of my life." It was a trick answer, but very true. "As for if there is any place safe, there are none. You'd be better off going back to where you came from."

Rydelyn was taken aback from the blunt question and blamed it on the girl's drunkenness. Her nose could pick up the sweet smell of the liquid on the girl's breath. Running away? I suppose it could be considered that. As for going back to where I came, nothing could be more unsafe for me. I can't go into much detail, especially in such an open place, but lets just say my father was willing to kill me to save himself. Rydelyn stopped speaking. Her mouth had gotten ahead of her and she felt she had revealed to much.

Taking care to sit squarely in the center of the bar stool, Rydelyn glance around the bar to make sure they weren't being watched. She could see that the bartender was busy and the other patrons were busy eating and drinking. So, what's your name. Where is your home?
