Hummy ~ We finally got some new fill in people a few weeks ago.
We have only been waiting since October for the first four to arrive, we only got one & he quit in less than a month.
It was sort of good for me that they took so long to get them.
It meant when the new one finally did arrive I got one of them, since my last fill in went full time a few months ago.

The new girl is doing great.
Out of the 21 of the regular full-time employees we were supposed to get 10 new people, but after the interviews only 7 were picked.
So far we still have 5 of them & mine seems to be picking it up faster than the rest of them.
Not sure if it was just my training, I actually take the time to write out a book for anyone who has to fill-in for me telling them all the stuff I think they need to know.
One guy who filled in while I was having surgery did better filling in for me than he does filling in for the person he has filled in for over the last 4 years.

I personally think he had a bad trainer.
She has had 2 people jump to other people while we have been in that office & then one quit.

You still have to pick up phones while on break

Damia, the trainer does make all the difference. Most of the processes that I did at my old job had a manual to go with it. Literally we handed the manual to new people and with very interruptions they could process a file without having to have one us standing over their shoulder. My manual spelled it out step by step, including if weird things popped up, what you were suppose to do in those situations.

Salvete, only because the phones never stop on Mondays generally. Although, they haven't been too crazy today. And for saying that they will turn ugly when everyone is at lunch.

I feel like you should get paid for answering phones though

She will probably be the first one to get cross trained to fill in for another person.

Ours don't get manuals, they just get a little bit of mostly useless training for the area & then get sent to the offices.
The real training is up to the individual people to figure out how to handle it.

I once helped make a training manual for newcomers :3 it was fun

I get paid for answering the phones, so no worries there. My manager doesn't stiff me on the pay. We typically don't take a lunch most days because we are so busy. Escrow gets crazy like that.
