I think Fiji is a collection of islands, with two (Viti Levu and Vanua Levu) accounting for the vast majority of the population. I wonder if Fiji is in as frightening a state as Burma; it's been under military control since '62 hasn't it? (I admit I had to google Burma).

Not sure, but North Korea sounds even worse.

North Korea is scary to me!

A lot of people like to laugh it off, and make fun of Kim Jon-Un, but I don't think that anything to do with North Korea is funny at all.

Kim Jong-Un (I spelt it wrong previously) is the Supreme Leader of North Korea. He hates the United States, and has been threatening to nuke America lately.

Well, I surely am not liking dictator, so making fun of him don't anger me.
But I feel sorry for the people trap in North Korea.

I'm not mad at any insult toward Kim Jong-Un, I'm just worried that he might just be crazy enough to actually follow up on his posturing. If he did try to nuke America, Canada would surely get caught in the crossfire! He probably won't actually do anything, but it's still scary to think about.

I feel badly for the people of North Korea too. D:

Oh lol, so you are worrying about the consequences. XD Then I understand.

At my place, we are just either too selfish or too naive to even mention North korea. It is all about K pop K culture.

I think North Korea is in a very fragile state. It can't continue as it is. There is too much strain on resources, and finances to start a full out war, but even one successfully launched nuclear missile can do a lot of damage. Right now Obama says he doesn't believe that North Korea has any missiles at all, and I can only hope that's true.

The truth is I never gave it much thought until I read the book Escape from Camp 14, which was written by a North Korean man who had escaped from one of N.K's prison camps. It was terrifying! After that I started to follow what was going on a little more closely.

Most were born into it. Kim Jong-Un inherited leadership from his father Kim Jong-Il who ruled from 1994-2011, and who succeeded his father Kim Il-Sung who was the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from 1948 to 1994. North Korea has been ruled by the same family for 65 years. :/

I'll likely be seeing a lot of reports about the election on the news and in newspapers then. China tends to always be kind of a big deal. The exact percentage of things manufactured in China, and sold in the US and Canada is a bit vague. But we do depend on China for a lot of our consumable goods, so we always try to pay attention. Or most of us anyway...

Haha, I wouldn't say it's ignorance. The war(s) in Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan have gotten a lot of people more interested in global politics than there might normally be. I'm one of them, I admit. I never use to pay this much attention to Canadian politics, let alone global ones before. I don't pay attention to everything though, only Canada, America, England, North Korea, sometimes China, and the middle eastern countries where Canadian troops are deployed. There are still many countries I don't know about, and probably won't ever learn about. ^^;;

Oh man... it's 4am... how did that happen? I have to go to bed, but I really enjoyed talking to you!

I pay attention to that too. Not as much as I use to, but there are some titles I'm still fond of.
