That sounds like a very good plan, Amane.
I need to borrow some gold from my niece and get the rest of the items I want.

@Claudia: Where do you think you've been before?

I hate dealing with my mom's cat. She allows it to get table scraps (she feeds him) and he keeps getting in my way of food. -.- Mine, doesn't care (I stopped him of that when we found out he was diabetic back in June)

Oh dear. Table scraps are not good for kitties.

In Rochester, NY. Before commercial foods came along, table scraps was often fed to dogs and cats ate.

@Claudia: Oh nice. ^^ I've lived here my entire life. ^^

@Granny: No it's not. She also will give her cat some of the dog treat. And then tonight she found it funny that my diabetic cat got a couple pieces of the dog's dry food and she mentioned that it might be good for him and I told her no. Eli (my diabetic cat) should not be eating any dry food. We do give him some dry in his food. But it's not like he used to get it, his diet is mainly wet food. UGH! I'm about to see if I can live off campus and afford it just so I can have Eli because I'm doubting if she fully understands the care of Eli. -.-

----------

I would rather give Eli food that he should be eating, but money doesn't allow me to give him just plain meat. So, I'm stuck mixing mostly wet food with some dry food. Once I can afford it he's just getting the prescription diet.

Do you have to give your cat insulin shots?

Yup, Elijah gets 2 units of insulin every 12 hours. I also should check his blood sugar (I bought a glucose metre to do that)

Oh my. I do not think I would have been able to do that with my female cat.
She would not have stood for it.

I wouldn't be able to keep up medicating a cat like that. One of my synodontis got sick and it got quite time consuming to do extra water changes in a sick tank.

I freaked out when I found out Eli is diabetic. But, once I gave him his first shot. It's like second nature to me. Every morning I wake up at 11, get his food together (and feed Rascal- mom's cat... I wish I didn't have to also feed the dog, but mom leaves me in charge of ALL of the animals when I get home -.-... including HER dog who leaves a big pile for me to clean EVERY morning because SHE and her a-hole ex will feed him late at night)
Anyway. I give Eli his shot when I set his food down in his feed zone. Same thing at 11pm. Though right now they're bothering me early since we ran out of dry food to mix to make the food last all day... And she "forgot" to tell me to get the dry food for them or get it when she went out shopping friday

Hi birdie! How're you doing?

You have a very fortunate cat. Very few people would be willing to do all that for them.

I would be willing, but I won't be able to keep up if I went back to work like I have planned.

Yeah, I love my baby to death, that even though he is 14, I am willing to take care of him and do such a huge thing for him. He's so much more healthier than he was then. He's back to his big kitty weight ^^

----------

@Claudia: This is something I'll have to work around with the workplace. I'll pull the whole "I can't work till noon. and i can't work late, I am the only care taker for my diabetic cat who is on a strict schedule" Even though truthfully my mom is... But I can't trust her that much.

My kitties lived to ages 14 and 18.
It is rare for cats to live much longer than that.

My cat lived to be two years old and he came back severally injured one day and died at the vets. I wasn't allowed to have another cat after that.
A cat came into our lives as stray/abandoned cat. He was going to be mine and then we decided he wandered into my parents house and is happy there. I've had my fish a lot longer then my cat. I have some fish around twenty years old.
This is why I spent a lot of time saving one of them, he's a favorite of mine.

I love them to but I'd rather show off some pictures and talk about how adorable they are XD
I lost a cat fairly recently so it's still a little sensitive

Yeah, I'm still getting over Naomi. I'm thankful I have my kitty and Mike's kitty at his family's house. ^^
