It is pretty awful. Working 5 days straight with 10-12 hours of work on my feet, stocking shelves and at cash register... + getting cold on last one was very fun.

Sadly, that's how we all suffer, there's always shortage of people and no one can afford to work less or get sick... People have been waiting for their mandatory vacation times for nearly year...

Sounds like the place you work needs to get better managers in there, because that's what helps keep the good people there.

Hello all.

The management locally isn't so bad... But it's pressure from above that puts certain issues. Like, they can't hire much more workers due to the relatively 'small' revenue. Let's just say, it's Baltic style Walmart shop chain, not even from my country. It's infamous for issues like these.

That sounds horrible.

There was an accident few years back when a roof of a shop toppled in, causing many deaths because they had started to make 'roof garden' on not enough durable building and the cashiers weren't allowed to react to the fire alarms going off and such... The company barely apologized and the compensations had to be fought for, too. The chain is major fu**-up from above. People locally are pretty decent and have been understanding and helpful, as much as they can be.

Luckily, the shop I work in is one story building that's not new and pretty durable...
