Here's My Spooky Submission for You Two!
Username:Nephila
Category: Specialty/Savory
Description:Pumpkin curry. Spicy with a bit of sweet and saltiness to it. Vegetarian, also Gluten free if you don't put it over rice. Surprisingly tasty and simple to make.
Comment: It's a Thai based curry so the spicy sweetness works well with pumpkin

So you did involve curry. That looks so damn good. Where did you get the recipe?

Internets a long time ago, but it's not really following it here. XD I substitute and omit a lot of things along the way. No milk or butter was used (I like putting butter in curry sometimes) I like roasted pumpkin so it seemed like a natural evolution to try it this way. Plus I've cooked enough/had enough curry's to know what works in them. I have a few different Masala mixes I love and "Thai spices" mix I like using. Coconut water was used. hmm what else peanut butter, a bit of maple syrup (being Canadian it's kinda law). I kinda just smell and taste as I go.

If I do a pumpkin curry ever again I might put in Sweet potatoes and some nutmeg to change it up. Then I think it would be like a "Thanks Giving Curry" XD A completely different tasting and prolly yummy to I think.

Ooh, I bet I'll have an entry for this in a couple of days. Does the food have to be halloweeny?

Yeah, it said seasonal on the first page.
I'm certainly not going to be able to cook tomorrow. But I remembered today that I saw something about Kabocha Cookies a few months ago on some site, and I had thought I wanted to make them at some point. Sigh.

Seasonal for whom? It's spring here, should I make spring things, or should I make autumn (fall?) things?

I think fall, but being in the northern hemisphere halloween and the season are conflated for me.

Yeah, I'm guessing that, it would just be kind of cool to do something a bit out of the box.

Well, you could try it! But yeah, halloween is pretty fall geared. Pumpkins being a harvest item and all that.

I'll see if I get a response from the people running the competition. I'm planning on making lemon scones regardless, but it would be cool to enter them.

I think the food itself is more important than the theme in these types of contests.

Eh, well I'll post them when I make them. I also have a pumpkin food that I will use, so I will definitely have at least one entry.

I'm sure you can do seasonal to your area. I don't see why nott.

We started from the frame point of Halloween and radiated outwards, Bearzy: the trappings of it being traditionally autumnal, that was our initial result. But it is the cook that is the creator and we don't want to limit that creativity by something like location. You may certainly draw on what is available to you for inspiration!
