Todd turned to the man and nodded. "Yes, sir." He couldn't wait to get back and show Jasmine the egg. I probably won't let her touch it, though... He thought guiltily.

A portal opened. The moment they were home, Zafina looked at Todd. "You obviously know that's a dragon egg, but what are we gonna tell mum and dad?"she asked.

"I imagined we would tell them the truth. Mom probably won't mind, and if Dad does, Mom can persuade him to calm down. That's usually how it works, anyway." Todd replied. "If all else fails, we could just tell them that it's good for me to learn responsibility."

"Todd, they'll see that's a bull-shit excuse. You're the most responsible of us. "she said.

Lucifer was talking to Gemini. "Retirement will come soon....I've been looking forward to laying back, and watching everything go by for a long time. Maybe I should start looking for a place to settle down, in the human world. "He said.

Todd shrugged. "Well, it's the best I've- wait! I know what we'll say. You're in charge now, and you plan on a more...forward approach, right? Well, wouldn't it be huge to have a dragon on our side? A dragon who thinks I'm it's parent, so it's loyal to us?" He said, eyes bright. "Of course, I have no intention of letting a hatchling dragon fight any battles, but it's a good excuse for our parents!"

Gemini smiled. "A place in the human world, huh? Would you really be happy there? Though I suppose a nice place by the beach or in the mountains might be nice." She mused.

" 'Dragon's'. If you listen, you'll hear two heart-beats, not one....huh, the 'Twin Dragons of Hell'. Has a nice ring too it. "she said.

"I've fought in 3 wars, lived while many died, and lived a long life. I think I'll be content with what I've done. "he said.

Todd smiled as he listened. "You're right. I guess that means we each get one. When they hatch, the first person they see becomes their parent. So we'll both watch the egg hatch, and we'll get the one that looks at each of us first." He said.

"Ah, true enough. As long as our children visit every once in a while. I'd hate to be one of those parents who never sees their family." Gemini replied.

"Life would get pretty dull, if I didn't see the daughter that nearly killed me, or the son who keeps her under control. "Lucifer said, laughing.

"Sounds fair. "Zafina said, and started tickling Todd's fox ears, grinning.

Gemini smiled. "My thoughts exactly." She said.

Todd laughed, trying to swat her hand away while still keeping a good hold on the egg. "Hey, stop! Come on, we've gotta go show Mom and Dad. The sooner we get it over with, the better."

"Aw, is little todd embarrassed to show he's still ticklish?" Zafina said, grinning.

"Sometimes I think back to when we first met, after the second war. You found me, after fighting an angel. Who knew one of my own vicious generals would become the loving mother to my children?"he said.

"No, I just don't want to drop the egg." Todd said reasonably.

Gemini chuckled. "I had always loved you, even before that. I never imagined you'd return those feelings, though."

"Why wouldn't I?" he asked

"Yup, you're easy to embarrass. Just like how red you were when you were kissing Jasmine. "she said, with no real heat behind it.

"You were known for being a loner. You didn't love anyone, at least not romantically. And I was sure that I wasn't good enough for you."

Todd stammered for a second. "I'm going to show our parents the egg." He said suddenly, deciding to avoid further embarrassment.

"Why wouldn't you be? you represent everything I was fighting to protect- oh, Hey todd."Lucifer said, looking at his son.

"Hey mum, dad. We just got home from our Tutor's field-trip."Zafina said.

"OH thats right, I asked Mastema to take up his old position. How was- what is that?"he asked, pointing to the egg.

Gemini opened her mouth to answer when Todd and Zafina showed up. She spotted the egg instantly, and waited for her children to explain it's presence.

Todd gulped, then smiled brightly. "This was a gift from our field trip. See, we went to see a dragon, and the dragon asked me a question. I guess he liked the answer, because he let me have this. It's a dragon egg, and Zaffy and I believe that there's two dragons inside. We're going to hatch and raise them, one each." He explained.

Gemini's ear twitched. "You two...plan to hatch two dragons and raise one each. And this dragon you visited just happened to have an egg with twin dragons inside." She said slowly, clarifying. "Twin children, twin dragons. How convenient." She wondered how her husband would react.

"Hmm.....Twin dragons of hell.....has a nice ring too it."

"I said the 'exact' same thing. "zafina said.

Gemini chuckled. "Like father, like daughter. As long as you two can handle it, I don't see any reason to say no. After all, you are all grown up now, so we really can't object anyway." She said.

Todd grinned huge. "Thanks! I promise I'll take great care of mine. And between the two of us, I'm sure we can do enough research to help us know how to care for dragons by the time they hatch."

"You know we'll be taking care of a 100 pound, fire breathing, intelligent flying lizard, right?"she asked todd.

"I know that. But there has to be something written somewhere about the subject. We can't be the first people to ever hatch a dragon...right?" Todd asked. Surely, there had been at least one other person.

It was all quiet in the room.

Todd looked around. "Seriously? We're the first ever? Wow, okay, this is going to be fun..." He said sarcastically. "Just for the record, I'm going to write down everything that happens. That way, if anyone ever ends up in this situation again, there will be a record of what to do and not do."

"Our best bet would to ask a dragon, but we will have to wait until Mastema takes us again"she said

"see? And you said that he'd make a bad tutor Gemini! "Lucifer laughed

Gemini looked offended. "I said no such thing! All I said was that I hoped his self-sacrificing nature didn't irritate the kids too much." She said.

Todd shook his head. "It was a little strange, since you raised us to respect our elders, and he didn't want any respect. I wasn't sure exactly how to act."

"As a master of arms, war is all he knows. You're not the first half-breeds he took under his wing."he said to him.

"I can imagine. But what I mean is, am I supposed to respect him in the traditional way, or should I respect him by following his wishes and acting mean towards him? The first option makes him unhappy, but the second just doesn't feel right. I don't know what to do."
