Do you have what it takes to become a god?...

Since the world began, there have been those who watch over it, those who protect the path that man has carved for itself. These beings of immense power are known as gods. They protect the peace, working together in harmony to ensure the future. However, every few millennium to ensure those entrusted with such power and responsibility remain level headed and clear, they step down, passing on the their role to an heir. These heirs are chosen from their lives on earth. After they pass, they are given the choice of continuing on to the afterlife, or taking on the challenge of reaching a status above that of mere humans and spirits. To become a god, these gods in training are given a fraction of the god they choose to attempt replacing’s power. This is to prove that they can handle it, as well as wield it responsibly. From there, they will train and study hard under their god, to become familiar with their position and responsibilities. During the last year before the ceremony of passing on the role of a god to a god in training, these gods in training must face their toughest challenge. The world they once called home…earth. A god in training must spend a year on earth, using their new influence and status to prove they can handle actually doing the work. The real gods are not allowed to influence this time or help, so the gods in training are on their own.

In the world of the living however, they still resemble ghosts. They are unable to be seen, heard or physically influence anything. In order to establish a hold within the living world, a god in training must first make a contract with a human. This human in turn becomes their link to the world of the living. The god in training is then able to be seen and heard by their human contract, and all other human contracts on earth, or those who have been given special sight. They are also able to then physically influence the world by their choice. The humans who contract with these gods in training become important, gaining some power of their own. Besides being able to see the gods in training, spirits and other supernatural things beyond their world now, they are able to summon their god in training at will, and command them in a sense, sort of like a genie. Once a contract has been made, the god in training is unable to break it or change it. However, at any time, the human can break it. If they do, the god in training is sent back to the world of the afterlife, losing their standing in the race to replace their god. At any time, if the human tells any who are not a contracted human or one with special sight about the god in training, the contract is broken. They will return to the world of afterlife and lose their standing as well. If a contract is broken, or at the year’s end, all memory of the gods in training ever being on earth will be erased.

Meaning, the humans will forget and go back to their normal lives. A god in training is influenced by their contracted human’s heart as well. A strong willed and hearted contract will result in the god in training having a strong influence on earth, and their power being stronger. Vice versa, a weak heart and will will result in the opposite. They are also influenced by the standing of their contracted human. If their contracted human is a follower of light, or corrupted by darkness will begin to turn and sway the god in training. They become linked and bonded within this contract, so the influence both ways is strong. If the contracted human they are using as their anchor is killed, it is the same as the contract being broken, so the gods in training have to protect their human. These things make their time on earth difficult, but the worse is the threat of the Kaiju. Beings of darkness, also known as demons. They are believed to be from the underworld, a realm of darkness. They hold a standing similar to the gods in training who have made a contract with humans. They can choose to be seen or not, heard or not and influence the physical world or not. Their presence has a natural darkening and corrupting ability to the world and people around them. They seek to gain enough power to get into the world of the gods, and destroy them, taking over and plunging the world into total everlasting darkness. To do so, they attack the gods in training, killing them to absorb their souls and in turn their power, strengthening their own.

In order to do this, they know a surefire way of bringing them out, is to attack their contracted human. Learning the ropes, protecting people and protecting themselves become the path for these gods in training to reach their goal, and reach the heavens.

Positions

Gods in Training:

Once humans, these are people who have passed on from the world of the living and had proven in some way during their lives, that they have what it takes to be a god. They obtain a fraction of their god’s power, and begin learning and training under them. The last year before they surpass their god, they are sent to earth to prove themselves in the field. They must make a contract with a human, otherwise they cannot be seen, heard or influence the living world. Once a contract is made, they can be seen by their contracted human as well as other contracted humans and those who have been given special sight. They are able to speak to them as well, and influence the world of the living. They are influenced by their human’s heart, will and standing in light and darkness. Their contract can be broken by the human breaking it willingly, their human dying, or by the human telling an uncontracted human about them. When their contract is broken, they are sent back to the afterlife and lose their power, as well as their standing in becoming a god. They can sense supernatural things, whether it be from their godly world or the Kaiju. They can also sense when their human needs them, what their thinking and feeling at times. They become bound to the human, having to listen to their wishes while on the world of the living.

Contracted Humans:

These humans are chosen by a god in training, forming a contract with them. Once the contract is made, they become able to see the gods in training, the Kaiju and other supernatural things. They can hear them and physically touch them if need be. They gain the ability to sense their god in training as well, able to sense what their feeling and thinking or when their needed. They form a sort of telepathic link with them, able to summon them at will. They also gain the ability to command them, similar to a genie, able to tell them to do something and they have to do it. These humans are their anchors to the world of the living. If the human dies, the contract is broken. The contract can be broken if they tell an uncontracted human as well, or if they willingly break it. It is forbidden for a human and god in training to have any romantic relationship as well, which will result in immediate termination of the contract as well.

Kaiju:

Beings of darkness, also referred to as demons. They come from the underworld, and seek to gain entrance into the world of the gods, in order to destroy them and plunge the world into everlasting darkness. They are similar to gods in training, where they can only be seen and heard by contracted humans or those with special sight. However, unlike gods in training, they do not require a contract to influence the world of the living. Their very presence has a natural corrupting nature, which will influence living creatures around them. They seek out and kill gods in training, seeking to absorb their souls and power. In order to draw out these gods in training, they are known to target the humans they are contracted with. They can come in human like forms, or beast like forms, with a variety of powers just like the gods in training. However, they are weaker against light abilities and holy things, unable to control any powers in light.

Roleplay Links

Ooc

Accepted Profiles

Rules
1. Respect me as the GMs, this means: Do not question my decisions, as the GM, I have the final choice and say within the rp. I understand a little help, and I make mistakes, but much of what I decide, I decide for a reason. So trust in me and my work.
2. Respect all other members of the roleplay
3. Follow all Mene rules.
4. Yaoi and yuri allowed, so respect this, and if you do not like it respect those who do.
5. PM all profiles to Me titled with the name of the Rp, so I know you read the rules.
6. Keep ooc within the ooc. This is your only warning.
7. No godmodding please -.-. Gods in training are not full gods. Their power is only a fraction of the actual god’s their learning under. They will not gain their full god power until they replace the god.
8. POST A GOOD SIZED PARAGRAPH MINIMUM. I understand writers block, but NO one or two liners. They take up a lot of space, and are hard to reply to.
9. Those who decide to be a god in training MUST have powers that mirror the god they are trying to become. Ex: A god of fire, naturally has fire powers.
10. If you are going to be gone or unable to post, let me know, so we can take care of waiting for you to return, etc.
11. No killing others without their permission…unless it is an NPC.
12. If you plan to join, make sure you are DEDICATED. We need people who are going to be serious and continue helping us with this roleplay. If you are going to poof on page two, then this is not the rp for you.
13. No two gods in training or kaiju can have the same powers. Be creative!
14. Each person can only play ONE of each type of character (god in training, human, kaiju). This means, that a person can play up to THREE characters max.
15. I will add/subtract and update the rules as needed.
