I never noticed you were just using for colors for the red palette. It would be much easier with 5-6 shades! It adds so much depth to the item!

ah well i was thinking about that and decided that it would be best for me to just work with four colors since i was just starting but i shall add another color >w< thank you very much Maria

No problem - personally I think it's hard to shade with just the four because it's very limiting. I tried with a smaller palette first and then opened it to 6 when Xuvvie suggested it and found it SO Much easier to get my things to LOOK like I wanted them to look :D

i was trying hard to try with five or six colors like you suggested @.@ it was very hard looked weird to me lol

the best thing you can do - use the darkest color for the outline ONLY. The second darkest color I usually use for ONLY the outline as well but will use very sparingly on the item if I have too. I reserve the middle 3 colors for coloring the item and the lightest color for some highlights which I also use sparingly.

lol yes you can believe it or not i haven't drawn in five years and i am trying to get back into it i mean i had gotten so good once that i could draw people off the top of my head in any pose though the proportions were off lol but now i can't draw anything

I'm not sure what advice I should give you with the top, but I know what to say about that hat. The long panels that fall down to the arms should be shaded. it looks too flat. The top of the hat is the only part that doesn't look really flat. You should hsde all of it and give it more depth with using more than one of the pallet colors. Does that make sense?

EDIT: when I mean add more colors, I mean pixel it like you did the very top of the hat. all the way down. and make the areas where the shadows would be shaded and where the light would be lighter. You did a goo djob with the texture of the top, tho! It looks fuzzy! and teh shape looks really nice.,

Okay

First thing - the lines should never overlap. I circled a part of the shirt near the boobs that make it look like a ladder climbing up...then I took that part and copied it and took away those extra lines so that it was truly just an outline not a climbing motion - do you see the difference? (I hope I'm making sense).

Second thing - the neckline could use some work - I yellow lined it (since redlining would have blended into the shirt)...you can bring the part by the neck UP a little bit. Then you should get rid of the extra pixels like I was talking about in point one...

Make sense?

it has been sooooo long since i was able to actually stop and work on my pixels lol but i thought i would finish at least one of them first lol and your help

pictures always help me get my point across - I just try not to change too much because I don't want people to think i am just redoing their work for them XD

lol I'm just worried people will think that I think I'm better and that it's my way or no way XD
