First off; Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section =/... it didn't seem to fit in media or general... considering the topics in there. :sweat:

I have a question regarding anime music videos. I've been trying to make one for a while. However I can't seem to find clips of wolf's rain and ouran high school.. there are a few .gifs but, how do people get actual clips from the shows? ... stupid question ><

also. windows movie maker, is there better software ?

yea, basically from filefront and whatnot, sometimes if your lucky they'll be websites that let you download anime (wihtout subtitles, now THAT is hard to find! XP)

I would have to say no, because you are really just using clips from different anime shows... If you made a AMV with you own creations, then that would be considered art. Hope that helped! ^_^

I really don't think that AMV's are art, because you're using other people's work, unless you did the animation and music yourself.

I make a lot of AMV's, and I use Windows Movie Maker as well, but I don't like it. If you can get a copy, get Adobe's Final Cut Pro, it's pretty amazing and you can do some awesome things with it :)

You an try Justdubs.net for Wolfs Rain episodes (they are dubbed so they dont have subs)

and there are a lot of better programs (but not rly free ones) I myself use WMM because its just really userfriendly.

Yeah i consider AMVs as art, though they aren't really made by you othyer than the effects and the placement its still sort of art. :)

AMVs demonstrate the art of editing. I mean, you have to set up the different clips so that they are appealing and go with the music. It's artistic in the same way that a movie editors movies can be considered artistic.
