I've been 3D modelling, using 3DSmax for around 6 months now, you'll see my models popping up in the art post section, as well as any 2D work I may pump out, which will probably be digital anyway, using my wacom tablet.
Discuss 3D stuff here.

Have you tried google sketchup? It's a fun little tool for ametuer 3D modellers who just want to have fun making buildings. We have it at school. But, for anybody who has 3DS max experience, i'm sure its rubbish :P

Na it's okay.
It's good for making buildings and architecture, but for making weapons, objects, etc, it becomes a little more bland.
Also I don't think you can render nicely with lighting, animate well, or bump map.
But yes, it is a start.

I take it that you are considering a career in 3d modelling then. I know of a few architects, they have a good life 8)

I really really admire people who model their own stuff using 3Ds Max or Maya or a similar program. :)
I don't have much respect for people who just move around pre-made models in Poser. It looks horrible (in my opinion), and it will never be "your" art because someone else created the model...
