I have been having a pretty sleepy weekend too.
I just woke up from a nap. I've been sick lately, so I have been resting a LOT and also drinking a lot of water... :c

I'm feeling better now, though.

What garbage is he taking out that there are so many loads?

Having a lazy weekend. Been off work for a month, since I moved and been waiting to start my new job. Feeling very bored, but I start work back up Tuesday, and I am elated!

Goodness. That sounds very annoying. If that's his only chore, you would think he could keep up with it. Very simple to take out trash. I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

Why don't you guys divide chores up evenly? Or be responsible for your own dishes? Whenver I've lived with people, besides family, we always take care of our own dishes.

Yeah, it's a rough year for presents. I got some during black friday and cyber monday, but not much. Just not a good time for me to spend money on gifts.

He takes forever doing dishes, it takes him an hour on a few silverwear, its just faster if i do them 'shrugs' and in the winter i can't take the garbage out because of ice so its best if he does that. and he doesn't ahve a lot of laundry so he jus thtrows it in when im doing it 'shrugs'.

Sounds like he uses that as a means to get you to do the dishes. I don't like lazy people.

He's not lazy, his family just keep him out and about, its the only way we can use the van when I get paid to go get grocerys is if he runs them where they have to go every day of the month no matter what. so he could just go to bed an hour ago and they'd expect him to get up and get dressed and take them where ever it is they deem is so important they can't ether A, wait, or B, find someone else tot ake them. and he's doing the garbage, or the rest of it, tomarrow, which is when i plan on tackling the dishes. and on ah appier note i found tons of great christmas pics for my Winter's Night thread so im happy..

That sounds rough, Star.

I'm sorry that the chores are not being evenly split between the two of you,

I'm too much of a perfectionist to let my boyfriend cook most the time :x If it's something that I am making, then I don't usually want his help because he doesn't take it as seriously and I tend to like things to be "just so." If it's something he wants to make, though, then I don't care. He usually sticks to things that are pre-made and he just cooks them up, or meat. He loves to BBQ. I tend to do all the other food prep, which is most of the time xP He's great at regular stuff, though. Just not recipe stuff.

But when I have roommates we split everything up. I am not about taking care of a roommate. We're both adults and they aren't my responsibility. My roommate just today saw me cleaning up the kitchen and so she cleaned the bathroom. It works out nicely.

Luckily I've never had to deal with a roommate.

I've heard a lot of bad things from friends and family.

I've had to have roommates to afford to rent places. Couldn't on my own. Rented throughout college and moving for jobs. It can be nice having a roommate, but it can also be pretty bad. I think I hate dealing with landlords usually more than dealing with roommates.

I live with my sister, it's both good and bad. That's life. We've made being single moms work for us. Since we both work it's a two income home and when the kids were younger it was easy to make it so one of us was there.

Some days we'll be like strangers under the same roof and not even talk to each other. Not because we're mad or anything, but because we're both really introverted and like reading or playing games. Other days we'll geek out about the next marvel or horror movie coming out.

We take turns (or try to) with chores. Yay for having teens now so it's super easy. I tend to do most of the cooking and she does most of the laundry. My daughter does the dishes and her son does yard stuff.

well that's nice. I'm looking to get a smaller space, maybe if we had a smaller space it wouldn't be so much of a hassel to clean.

@ Neph - Ah wow, that sounds like it works out pretty nicely. That is nice that you guys have each others backs. Are your kids about the same age?

Keep those teenagers busy! They should definitely know how to do chores. I meet people as adults that have never had to do dishes or their own laundry, and it simply baffles me.

@ star - Oh my. You currently live in a very large place?
