Thanks for the help with songs Strange. I think though at the moment practicing 'Stand by me' ~ Ben E. King is really enough. I've got a book that I'm working out of, and that's the song that I'm learning to play right now. I'm slow and awkward so it's probably good that it's not a lot of changing stuff. But if you wanna make the list for when I am able to play a bit better or could understand how to read it, it would be appreciated. :)

I know a few songs that are pretty easy for beginners to learn.
Really if it depends on if you have a Capo or not.
Most songs are a lot harder without one.

Capo is the piece that clamps onto your strings.
If you don't have it then you're gonna have to get good at bar/barre chords.

If you have to speak Tuna make sure that you have the right dialect. You don't want to speak in Dolphin on Tuesdays, it makes them want to read speghetti noodles and bath in soda.

I love bathing is soda...ok, maybe i dont...but i do like spaghetti.
The capo is used to raise the pitch of the guitar.
If you put the capo on the third fret and then play the E chord form it will sound like a G chord without the capo.
Bar/Barre chording is more versatile though, mostly because you can slide your hand up and down the neck of the guitar by using your index finger to cover all six strings at once. It usually takes a lot of pracitce to get that right though.
I usually bar/barre chord because none of my friends can do it right and i only have one capo lol...

It's probably the easiest song i know...at least i think it is.
I've been trying to get into the more complicated guitar styles, like finger picking.
It sounds so nice, i've been learning to play to zanarkand from FFX.

That's a good theme. But I would want to learn Aerith's theme though. Every time I've heard it, it's so beautiful.

I have to do more practice again today. Have to have a total of 2hrs by next monday.

It's good to hear you're practicing often, i've sat down and practiced for about 3 hours straight before.
I can't remember Aerith's theme off the top of my head...i'll have to look it up a bit later and see about learning it.
I've never had a teacher for guitar honestly. My dad taught me a few chords when i was younger but that's really about it.
Me and my friends learn how to play songs together, so i basically teach them, lol.
Does having a teacher help you a lot?

Yeah. I don't do good with book learning on my own. I have to have someone show me what I'm supposed to do, or I mess up. Books don't explain things very well and you can't always ask them the questions that you need to to help you understand. That and FAQs are only the ones that are asked 100s of times.

Now don't get me wrong about books. I love to read. I can understand what I'm reading. It's just learning from a book is hard for me to do. I have to have stuff thourghly explained and be able to ask questions.

I more or less went online and looked up songs then learned how to play them...i used youtube for finding the songs and ultimate-guitar for the chords. the rest was just up to me. I also have issues learning from books. I can understand everything perfectly as well, i just plain don't like it.

So other then practicing guitar what have you been up to lately?

I have games to play, but there is a sever thunderstorm warning for my area.
So i'm not allowed to play right now...
I'm trying to work on a new avatar too.
