Making certain that the black markings running over her body were concealed completely by her sable cloak, Olyviel stepped out of the room she had rented at the local inn, the Moonshadow. It would have been impossible to afford if Ollie hadn't managed to get an agreement between her and the innkeeper. In exchange for enchanted tools, she was allowed to say as long as she wanted. While she didn't plan on staying for long, the inn did serve as a base of operations until she could gather some people to venture into an old temple. Rumour had it that a staff resided there, as well as a spellbook or two. Of course, there were also bound to be other treasures, which she hoped would prove incentive enough.

Her honey blonde hair bouncing lightly as she walked down the steps in front of the inn, having finally woven through the patrons to the door, she surveyed the nearby marketplace a bit skeptically. A critical eye offered her a lot of insight into the various goods of the vendors, and it happened that quite a few were selling knock-offs or just downright false items. Anyone who bought something without examining it fully was asking for a world of disappointment. Her lips were sealed though. Ratting people out wouldn't win anyone's favor. They already distrusted her because she was an outsider, and doubly because of her strange eyes.

Her target wasn't the shifty marketplace that the city was so well known for anyway. Instead, she was heading down towards the sea, specifically the docks. The fishermen tended to be quite honest about what they found and what they caught. Very few of them were con-artists. The fact that she loved the feel of the mist on her face from the sea also didn't hurt. A few of the fishermen nodded at her as she passed by, though very few said anything. They accepted her as a trader, but very little more than that.

Even then, though, she continued walking. On one hand, she was just trying to get a bit of fresh air and help ease the people, but on the other, she was hoping to run into a few people who would be persuaded by the prospect of riches. The innkeeper knew that she was looking for companions, and so had offered to give out the information to any adventurer who came looking for work in her inn. So, she decided to take a break, sit on the bench near the water fountain, a masterful depiction of dolphins spouting water, and read one of her various books.

Amarantha wandered into town, her bow and arrows in their quiver on her back. The warm morning sun shown down on her red hair and creamy skin. She drew weird looks from people close enough to see her eyes, which were a dark blue green, the color of still water in a deep river. She ignored their looks, used to them by now and continued on through town, stopping occasionally to look over an item in the marketplace. She had potions and herbs she could sell if she wanted, but she didn't really need anything right now. She passed the inn, but kept going, preferring to sleep out under the stars when the weather was nice.

Feeling hungry she wandered down to the water and boats. She would rather catch her own fish and when she didn't she always bought straight from the fishermen. She eyed their catches casually, but kept going until she reached a not so populated area. She waded into the water and patiently waited, finally catching two fish. She carried them back up on shore and started a fire before cleaning them.

Usazair Colddusk had been walking all night, and most of the previous day. He was an elf, and a descendent of two dark magic elves. He though had chosen a different path and became a warrior. He had been in a coma for almost 50 years. All he remembered was protecting the princess, and waking up 50 years later. She was married now, and it ment he had lost the only thing he could remember, his love for her. Having forgotten almost all his years of fighting, he was once again stuck at being a beginner, and being so, he had been stripped of his armor and sword. Being so very humiliated, he had left his people with the only weapons and armor he could forge from his severed memory, and belongings he could carry.

Walking down the beach he came across the fishermen coming in from their catch. Talking with one, he gained some information about the town, and paid for a few fish by helping the man repair his nets while talking. They both shared the fish and once done, Usazair asked the best place to stop for the day. Getting the hotel name, he thanked the fisherman and once again began walking across the sand. His mind straining to remember the things he had forgotten, but it still seemed fruitless.

Sighing heavily to herself Andromeda sulked out of the shadows she had been standing in, observing everything and everyone. The naga always like to sulk around and observe everything around her. It made her life easier, well..it made stealing easier.

She was tall and dressed in all black. Black leather pants, leather skinned boots which gave her no footsteps as she walked. She had on a sleeveless body hugging shirt, a leather vest and leather gauntlets. Her hip length wavy hair was pitch black. The only bit of color Andromeda was wearing was a silver necklace with a crystal that rested just below her breasts, an iron fist on her right hand, and a silver dagger attached to her left thigh. On her back was a rugged black leather backpack, holding her violin and her disguise. The only real color were her eyes, a lovely shade of pale green. You could call it her curse as people tended to remember them. Andromeda didn't want to be remembered.

Walking over towards the fishermen she looked around without moving her head. After practicing for many years she could look around with out being obvious about it. She was about to steal some fish when she spotted a patrol. Frowning she darted off to the side. They were early and it threw her plans out the window. She needed to stock up on supplies. Last month she had almost lost everything after a job gone bad. The only thing she had been able to save were the clothes on her back and the bag she had been carrying, holding a disguise and her violin plus a few coins.

Coming out on the other side of a stall, near the water fountain she took out her violin case from her backpack. Taking the violin out she placed the open case on the ground and began to tune it. After a few seconds she began to play. If she couldn't steal she could try and earn a few coins. Andromeda was a master at the violin as was she at dancing. If she was short on job opportunities she often played or danced for loose coins.

Despite her reading, Ollie was quite aware of her surroundings, which is how she noticed the three individual strangers so well. To be fair though, she hadn't noticed at first. It was only when she heard the hushed whispers of people walking by that she had picked up on their presence. Still, a hope sprang up in her chest. Maybe they would like to help her out! The excitement made her bound to her feet, her book sliding into her bag gracefully. The closest person it seemed was playing a stringed instrument, the violin if Ollie recognized it correctly. While the third, a dark-haired, elven man was walking towards what looked to be the inn.

Standing in front of the musician, Ollie tried to get a feel for her aura. That, however, was not a skill she had a lot of practice in, so it was no surprise that she failed miserably. Instead she contented herself with scanning over her features. Her grayish hair fit her pale skin remarkably well, though it seemed that Ollie was missing something. The music was still being played though, and as it wound down from climax to the end of the song, Ollie pulled out five coins and dropped them into the case along with a note. The note simply said, If you're interested in a job, meet me at the Moonshadow inn tonight. Then she wandered away, looking for her next target.

The girl by the fire seemed like she wouldn't mind a stranger so much, or at least Ollie hoped so. Making her way down to her from the fountain, she waved in greeting, though whether or not she was seen by the girl was immaterial. As she neared the girl, she sat down and put her tiny hands to the fire. After a few minutes, she spoke. "So, are you perchance looking for a job?" she asked, looking up at the other girl briefly. She seemed quite a bit bigger than the petite mage, though whether that was just her mind playing tricks on her or not, she had no clue. Her pink hair was a stark contrast to Ollie's blonde, and was probably just as likely to draw strange looks as her own two-colored eyes. Hopefully she wouldn't find Ollie too strange to bother with her.

Amarantha looked up at the stranger approaching her. "Maybe," she answered cautiously, keeping her guard up. Many people, seeing the bow, tried to hire her as a thug and there was nothing she detested than taking life when it was not the only option. People seemed to prefer killing over dealing with their problems.

Coming towards the end of her song Andromeda noticed a women walk up to her. Glancing over her quickly she took in the clothing and the strange eyes. She glanced away and watched the women out of the corner of her eye drop in five coins along with a note. Finishing up her song after she walked away Andromeda quickly pocketed the coins and the note, put her violin away and then disappeared in the shadows.

Andromeda found herself a dark corner and paused, taking the note out. Opening it carefully she read the short script. A job opportunity eh? Even more curious now the naga placed her violin case in her backpack and darted through the marketplace, making her way to the Moonshadow Inn. She would stake the place out and observe before she would decided either to stay or not.

Once upon the Inn she slowed to a walk, clenching her fingers around her iron fist on her right now. She hardly ever took the piece off. Reaching down with her left hand she fingered the hilt of her dagger, sheathed to her thing. Letting out a heavy sigh she relaxed her hands and walked into the Inn.

Usazair made his way throughout town, glancing at things now and again at the market on his way to the inn. It was something he found himself doing slot lately, he examined things closer now, makin his memories more detailed and precious. After loosing most of his past life to a coma, the male was scared of loosing everything suddenly, and clung to everything he did have in his possession, memory or physical thing. Stopping to ask a merchant where the Moonshadow inn was located, and after hazy instructions from the questionable man, the elven male found the inn. Looking it over, he was pleased to see it wasn't nearly as questionable as a few other places he had thought about staying in. The only problem was that many didn't like his kind, especially since he was a dark magic decendant and looked the part. Taking in a breath he walked inside and spoke with the man at the front desk. The man gave him a sheet about a Jon proposition, and a complimentary paper of the city's publishing market. Thanking the man, Usazair moved to sit down at one of the tables, and began reading both the city paper and the job proposition. His eyes though were itching for rest, as was the rest of his body. Traveling had been more difficult then he had expected.

"Well, if you decide that you do want to get some treasure, feel free to stop by the Moonshadow inn," Ollie replie before standing up and making her way there herself. Two minutes later, she was entering the inn and looking discretely for the three people. She saw the man sitting down at the bar reading over a piece of paper while the musician was standing near the doorway wearily.

Ollie first made her way to the bar, nodding in response to a few waves as people looked up at the door. While the people had been wary at first, and still were, they didn't mind having their tools enchanted, and often acknowledged her presence when she passed by. It wasn't trust exactly, but more of a cautious respect; they still didn't like magic after all. As she passed in front of the musician, she gestured to her room to indicate that she should go there to wait. Coordinating everyone was going to take a bit of work.

Hoping that the girl would get the message, she sat down at the bar next to the man and looked over at him, specifically aiming her eyes at the paper he held in his hands. From her angle, it was pretty easy to see that it was the paper she had wrote up for the innkeeper to pass out, which brightened her spirits quite a bit. "So you're looking for a job are you?" she asked, her hands resting on the polished wood of the bar.

Usazair looked from the corner of his eye to see a girl approaching him, and sitting beside him at the bar. It was something that he didn't mind, though his appearence probably said other wise. The pale skinned elf was like most of his kindred, strong, good looking, and taller. The thing about him was that his clothes were black, his hair was black, and his deep purple eyes were nearly black. All around a pretty dark looking man to be true. Intimidation was good during a fight, but the male found it bother some mostly now. It was frustrating hearing that he had once been a lengand, and now was reduced to nothing but a youngling with his knoledge. Frustrating was an understatement though.

The elven male found his thoughts cut off as the girl spoke, and he turned to look at her. By looking at her he could tell she was a mage, his eyes immediately knowing what to pick out to anaylis a person. Surprised by her words he looked to the written out job offer and then nodded slowly. "Yes, actually. You would be the one putting this together then M'lady?" he said smoothly, respect something manditory being an elf. It was an unwritted rule within in his kind, because if one did not respect the people, they were shunned and outcasted. He was a little skeptical of her being the one to put this together, but as he had learned when waking up again, looks can be deciving.

Stopping just inside the door Andromeda played the part of a weary traveler. This way it made it easier for her to stand by the exit and observe everything before she decided to stay. Though she only had a moment or two, then she needed to decided. Her decision was practically made for her as the girl from earlier walked in. Fate it seemed wanted her to stay, the naga would at least hear what the girl had in mind before she left.

Watching her closely Andromeda picked up right away that she was a mage. Things like that were easy for her to come to. She read body language and all of the small things to figure a person out. The naga also noted how many people in the Inn greeted the mage as she walked in. That meant she had a good reputation around here for a mage, making Andromeda's decision to stay all that more final.

Catching the mage's gesture she headed off towards the direction of her room and went inside. Staying close to the door and with her left hand on her dagger sheathed to her thigh she looked around quickly. When she finally observed enough to know that she would not be harmed by anything in the room, she walked to the center and stood there for a moment. Letting out a heavy sigh Andromeda turned to face the door and gracefully sank to the ground to sit in the lotus position and meditate as she waited.

Amarantha sat thinking after the girl had left. Finally she decided to check it out. She got up and made her way through the wharf and back into town. She walked casually but her senses were alert for any trouble. She made her way to the Moonshadow Inn and entered. She stood just inside the door, scanning the place. It was like most inns, quaint but warm. She spied the one would had talked to her conversing with an intriguing man at the bar. She couldn't say why or what about him intrigued her, but none the less she was intrigued. She moved out of the doorway and over to a corner table from which she could observe, even the two talking at the bar.

Ollie nodded to the elf with a smile that she couldn't hide, oblivious to his frustration. "The meeting place is in my room over there if you want to head there to wait," she said, noticing that the archer from before had come into the inn as well. The elf though had the majority of her attention for the time being. He looked as lithe and graceful as their race was rumoured to be, but not as strong. Of course, it was clear to Ollie that one didn't need to be muscular to be strong. At the very least, and his armor made it hard to tell, he looked to have well-defined muscles, which was more than Ollie could claim.

Nodding to the man after she had finished speaking, Ollie stood up and made her way over to the archer, hoping to be able to get her to sign on for sure as well. She sat down across from her smoothly, her cloak working well to make her movements seem more than they actually were. In other words, her outfit added to the inherent mystery that being a mage entailed. Still, her smile was warm and radiated friendliness. "I'll be talking to the others in the room over there if you want to join us," she said, her airy voice bursting forth with excitement.

With that, she stood again, indicating the door subtly as she did. After a few moments back at the bar, she went to speak with the innkeeper to make sure no one bothered her and proceeded to the room herself. The feeling of giddiness was immense. Her first expedition! Hopefully the University would be more willing to include her with that on her record.

Amarantha watched the the girl walk away; she was intrigued by this girl and her mission. Amarantha's gaze traveled between the door to the room and the mage. Finally she stood and made her way across the room, winding agilely through the crowds. She stepped into the room and leaned against the wall by the door, in preparation for a quick escape if need be. Her gut told her that she could trust the one setting up this expedition, but what of the others. She wasn't sure yet what to think of the Elf.

Usazair smiled slightly, his teeth not showing, and nodded to the young Mage. Looking at the ring upon his finger, he felt his stomach twist. I no longer can serve her... Not even love will wait for a fool like me... Standing up he moved towards the room, and was the last one to enter. It seemed to slightly surprise the male that all the people interested where females. Then again many females of his race were more advantirous and skilled, so it was good to see other raced females of the same fire in being strong and self dependant. Stepping further into the room, he also realized the the darkly dressed female didn't seem, human. Considering he himself was of different heritage, it made him all the more curious to know just what the girl was, even if he wasn't one to pry. The dark male could feel their eyes on him, scrutinizing him. They were probably thinking why was an elf here? Elves are too high and mighty to mingle with our races, he should go home. Internally sighing, he just waited for the mage to start explaining this. He needed to aquire enough wealth and knowledge once again to one day rejoin his people... Looking down at the swords on his hips, he felt at a loss. He remembered when he awoke from his coma immediately drawing one of his curved double swords, the leather hilt feeling so natural and at home within his hand. He had lost everything when be had woken, his memories, his love, his parents, and his honor when they stripped away his weapons and armor. He was a shell of the man that he once was, and often he wished he would have just died. Then he would have been a hero instead of an outcast. Pulling his mind from his over active thoughts on his past, the male glanced at all the girls once more. This would be worth his time and efforts, hopefully.
