I think a lot of it is that an item loses it's "Brand new" status, causing it's value to go down. It's basically a wildly used marketing scam. They do the same thing with rings. My old white gold ring from when I was married is practically worthless.

World War 3 isn't possible. We intentionally intertwined our economies so that if world war 3 broke out, every country in the world would crash and burn. We did this after World war 2
