Mala didn't move when she heard the door to her room open. It happened usually at least once a day (at least as close as she could figure to a day, anyway), and she had long since stopped resisting. So there was no point in wasting energy looking up.

Except that no one made a move to touch her or make her move, which was odd. She blinked and she did lift her head at that.

Nadia was in her own room, a blindfold over her eyes. She lay quietly on the cot, though she listened carefully when she heard the door open.

Wanda was in the doorway of Mala's room, though she kept glancing down the hall and back at Mala.

"Come, quickly," she whispered. "We will not get another chance."

Mala frowned at her. "Who are you?" she asked quietly, though she moved closer cautiously.

Pietro opened the door to Nadia's room, looking at her for a moment before zipping to her side to remove the blindfold for her.

"If you want to get out of here, now's your chance," he told her bluntly.

"That is not important now," Wanda replied, glancing down the hall again. "Quickly, before they come back."

Nadia blinked in the sudden light.

"Who are you?" she asked, setting her feet on the floor. "Where did you come from?"

Mala frowned, trying to figure out if this was some kind of test, or deceit. An explosion from the other side of the base convinced her otherwise, and her eyes widened as she moved over to Wanda.

"Pietro, outside, and we need to get going now," he said, glancing around again. At the explosion, he grimaced. "That means we're behind now. Hurry up."

Wanda took her wrist and tugged her along, going for the nearest exit. She knew Pietro would meet them outside.

"What's going on?" Nadia asked as she got to her feet.

Mala followed Wanda easily, her eyes wide and her heart racing. She still wasn't sure this was real, but if it was, it was amazing.

Pietro sighed and picked her up. "I'll explain later," he told her, zipping out of her room and out the nearest exit so he could meet up with Wanda.

Wanda led her outside, out a hidden side door. It led out to a small empty space that was surrounded on three sides by trees.

"Out here," she said to Mala. "The others will meet us."

Nadia gasped as she was picked up and taken away. She hadn't been expecting it, and the speed was making her a bit dizzy.

Pietro set down his charge in the little clearing, keeping hold of her until he knew she was balanced.

"Now for Barnes," he murmured.

Mala frowned, confused and a little scared, but she didn't protest.

"He will join us shortly," Wanda replied, keeping an eye on the girls. "Let him have his fun."

Nadia looked around cautiously, just taking everything in. She wasn't allowed to have her blindfold off very often, so she was just taking in everything she could while she had the chance.

Mala leaned back against the nearest tree, just resting there for now. She figured it wouldn't hurt. And outside air felt wonderful.

Pietro grumbled, though he was clearly not actually upset, and settled in to wait and keep an eye on both girls.

It took a little while for the explosions and machine gun fire to die down. Once it did, and the silence had stretched for a few more minutes, the door opened slowly and the Winter Soldier stepped outside.

"These them?" he asked, glancing from the girls to the twins.

Pietro nodded. "Any problems?" he asked, glancing back towards the base, which was now utterly quiet. Not that he was surprised.

"Not anymore," the Soldier replied. He flexed his metal fingers a little, making sure they were still calibrated properly.

Pietro nodded again. That was quite normal. "Wanda, where are we heading now?" He glanced at his sister before he glanced over at the two girls, to be sure they hadn't run off or anything.

Wanda's eyes slid half-closed for a moment as she weighed the probabilities in her mind.

"The city is safest," she murmured finally. "We will need to blend in with the masses."

Pietro nodded. "So, clothes, supplies, and a place to stay," he muttered. "I can do that." Once they got closer to the city, anyway.

Wanda nodded.

"We need to move, now," she added, blinking and nudging the girl next to her forward. "We should not linger here."

Pietro nodded and started herding the other girl, glancing back at Barnes briefly.

Mala let herself be nudged and herded along, offering no resistance, though she was looking around at everything, trying to take in everything all at once.

Nadia briefly resisted being herded. She was still distracted by everything around her, and she wanted to keep looking at it all.

"Come along," Wanda murmured to the girl she was herding forward. "You will have more to see later. For now, we must get somewhere safe."

Mala ended u p keeping pace with Nadia, still looking around as they walked through the woods until they were on the outskirts of the nearest city.

Nadia looked around, amazed, until she caught sight of the city. She actually paused for a moment, looking at the city in wonder. It was so much bigger than anything she'd ever seen before.

"Wait here," Pietro muttered. "I'll get supplies." He ran off, since he knew Barnes and Wanda would keep an eye on the girls.

Mala, on the other hand, just looked a little nervous at the sight of the city. There were so many people, she knew, and that wasn't exactly something that made her feel better.

Wanda nodded and watched her brother go. Then she herded the two girls together and stayed with them, so Barnes could do whatever he felt was necessary.

It didn't take Pietro long to return laden with two backpacks, stuffed with fresh clothes, water, some snack-type foods, bandages, and a few other things.

"I found a potential place," he told Barnes, since he knew Barnes would want to check it out before moving everyone in.
