"Dark digivolve?" They both asked, looking worried. "What does that mean?" Jordan added at length.

Frimon just shook his head, now decidedly against attempting to digivolve. "It's just bad, Jordan... we shouldn't try doing that. I don't wanna dark digivolve!"

Jordan furrowed his brows "No one is gonna force you, buddy but what does it do? How is that different from digivolving?"

The party was moving slower and slower as they approached the floating city. They needed to be careful in case they ran into something nasty. Finally Casey heard a soft blip from her digivice and eyed it.

"What's up?" Dorimon poked her nose in the way of the screen.

Casey rearranged her digimon and the digivice so she could be able to see it better "It looks like Melody and the other newbie are back and heading our way."

"Dark digivolving happens when a digimon is forced to digivolve unnaturally," Melody explained as they walked. "Or they digivolve using corrupted data. It's not a good thing. The resulting dark digimon goes on a rampage, pretty much, and don't stop until they are stopped, or they run out of energy. Most digimon partnered with a digidestined don't have that problem, though, since their digivolving data typically comes from us."

"New guy came back?" Ben asked, surprised. His own digivice beeped at him, alerting him to the new new signals returning. "That's surprising, he didn't seem like he wanted to be here. How did they get back so fast?"
