Hey everybody!

I'm having a bit of a dilemma. Upon joining a group of Disney collectors on Facebook, I find that nearly all of them have named their collection one name or another for one reason or another. My collection? It doesn't have a name. I would like to change that and I need your help to do it!

I've recently discovered a couple of figurine collections -- the first called the Walt Disney Classics Collection (WDCC). They're figurines that look they've popped right out of a Disney movie or short - very beautiful in color and quality, and are made of resin and hand painted. The collection originated in October of 1992. While I'm 20 years late in starting this collection, I've recently been able to get my hands on nearly 20 pieces from years past, along with a few newer pieces as well.

The second collection is from the artist Jim Shore. His work is beautiful and his style is so unique. When I learned about the WDCC, I also learned of Jim Shore. Since my discovery of his work, I've been able to purchase nearly 10 pieces from his Disney line. These as well are hand painted and made of resin.

Prior to starting my collection of these figurines, I've been collecting snow globes for years. I don't have many, perhaps a handful, but I've always treasured them and my Mom got them for my birthday when she could find ones of my favorite characters (particularly Ariel and Belle).

I have also begun collecting Disney's Limited Edition / Designer dolls. I currently own the complete Villains Designer collection, the Brave LE set, and the Merida Animators' Collection Toddler Doll. Along with collecting the dolls, I have begun collecting the journals and mugs/glassware that have been released as collections as well. I own 7 journals, 7 mugs, and a few shot glasses from various collections.

Along with all of these, I collect pins and Vinylmation. I have quite a few Vinylmation (at least 20), but am only just starting my pin collection. I plan on collecting artwork as well, but have yet to get my hands on a piece.

Now, as you can see, it's very difficult to try to create a collection name that encompasses all aspects of my collection! Currently, I'm taking suggestions on names! Any input is welcomed, and hopefully we can figure out the perfect name for my collection! It's at times like this when I wish I had an interesting last name - then I could just use my last name as the collection name! But alas, I have a boring last name with no ring to it. :(

Disney Daydream/Nightmare Collection. I'm thinking the villains designer collection needs some attention to at least. Daydream= Disney light, Nightmare= Disney dark themed.

Please feel free to play off the suggested names! I am open to all suggestions and variations. Perhaps between all of us, working together and playing off of each others ideas, we'll be able to create the perfect name for my collection! A few "themes" I would love to sort of incorporate into the title are Greek Mythology/the movie Hercules, The Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, or Aladdin. If someone can incorporate a name that includes one or more of these themes, and incorporates my entire collection, you shall receive a prize! The person with the winning name shall receive 5,000g to do with as they wish!

I'm very excited to see what you come up with!
Remember though, I was something short, sweet, and with a ring to it!

I don't really see why it needs a name, but that is just my opinion.
What are some other names collectors have come up with?
You could go with a simple (name)'s Disney Collection.

I honestly like the idea of naming my collection!
I've always wanted a collection big enough to name, and now that I have one I'd really like to name it - I've just never thought about it before lol

Well, some do it by room - they'll theme a room and call it "The Pink Room" or "The Mickey Room" or "The Lennox Room", but that's just so boring to me. So is "So & so's Disney Collection". With that I feel like I'm a kid naming it, ya know? It just doesn't have a ring to it, and it's just not me lol

One person has 3 2-story art studio lofts full of collectibles and they named the entire loft The Pegasus Loft, after a character in the movie Fantasia, and then named each of the 3 lofts according to a main piece that was in it (mainly whatever life-sized figurine was located in that area) - One was called The Sith Lair, one Toad Hall, and I forget the 3rd one - but again, that's just not me - I'm more of a "The so & so Collection" type of a girl, or something like that - something that has a ring to it, is fun to say, has meaning, has a regal air about it, etc. - something that's just not plain and boring like "The Mickey Room" or something :3

Wow, thats a big collection, but some one with 3 storeys? Holy cow!

I'll shoot some basic ones to start off I guess...

I can't think of anything to incorporate hercules :O

The guy has been collecting heavily since 1995, but had started out slowly as a kid growing up - he was born in like, 1950 something lol

Treasure Trove doesn't work for me because Disney has an Ice Show called Treasure Trove that showcases a lot of Disney movies, and I'd feel like I'd be copying the Ice Show name - the second one is too long though :(

It's so hard to find something that meshes without over doing it and making it too long!
And Hercules is definitely hard one for me because I always want to go the Hades/Persephone direction, but that has nothing to do with Disney LOL

Hmmm - those feel more like chapter titles or game sequences versus a title for a collection - I do like them though!

Since you want them short, how many syllables would you think you'd like? :O So I know whether they're too long or not

Haha He's a very well off doctor of some sort, so I doubt it matters much - he drops hundreds of dollars on pieces like it's nothing :3

Would prefer it to be some thing like "The ----- Collection" - I mean, it's a collection we're trying to name not a book or anything, and so I want it to really represent that and be short with a ring to it :3

I figured he didn't live with them, because if they're chocablock, you wouldn't want to break anything when you're walking.

His next give-away is of Sparky from Frankenweenie - the new Tim Burton movie that he did based on his original live movie short that was showcased at the end of The Nightmare Before Christmas VHS tape :3
This figurine is HUGE, limited edition, and literally just came out within the last month or so lol
So he'll purposefully even purchase figurines to give-away :3

I just don't feel comfortable running that risk, even if there are books and countless websites and such that you use in making your decisions. I just couldn't handle being responsible if something went wrong - I just don't think I'd ever overcome it - so I'd rather just not run the risk and stick to business :3

He very much so is!
And he lets people tour his lofts and view his collections as well - he's a huge Disney fan and he loves sharing it with everyone :3
If he didn't live so far away I'd TOTALLY visit his collection! It would be amazingggg to see in person!

I haven't seen the new version yet, but I LOVED the original :3
And that's why it's in the tones it is - the original is in B&W to give it a Frankenstein sort of feel, and that movie is in B&W :3
He also did one based on Edgar Allen Poe I believe it was, that was on just before Frankenweenie on the VHS tape - been hoping he'll make that one into a full length movie as well!

Please try to remember I'm trying to name a collection, however, not a title to a chapter in a book or a book itself or something - these are kind of going along the lines of a chapter title in a book or the title of a book or short story ^_^;

Same here - I grew up on them and have been in love with Disney ever since I saw Beauty & the Beast :3
