There was no such thing as a dark night anymore. The buildings in the city cut into the skyline their lights taking the place of stars. In the past man may have battled nature but now in the present it was clear man had won. Standing on the edge of some unnamed unimportant building a figure clothed in black looked out over the city. Really for a powerful company Deccom Inc. their security left something to be desired. Of course who could really fault them. There was very few systems that he couldn't slip pass and he had a hacker in his contact list which was a plus. "Are you ready to get out of there Ghost?" The voice came in clear though computerized.Turning away from the Orin rechecked that the suitcase- a rather large suit case if he was being honest- was securely strapped to his back. "Yeah yeah. I've got the package." Pushing off the edge of the building he let himself free fall for exactly 2.1 seconds before twisting in the air and firing off a grabbing hook towards the edge he had just been standing on.

An hour later he was in street clothes and riding the elevator up to his fourteen floor apartment. The suitcase was in a duffel bag sitting at his feet. At three at night the building was pretty much empty which made moving around easier. A ding cut through the boring music that played 24/7 from the speakers. Moving down the hall the man swiped his key card in the lock stepping in as the door slid opened. As his black combat booted steps echoed through the empty apartment the over head lights flicked on. Setting the duffel bag down on the table in his dinning room the dark haired man unzipped the bag and stared at the sliver suitcase. Taking out the white canister of finger print dust he lightly brushed to powder along the key pad. So he wanted to see what it was he was being hired to steal. He didn't take on jobs very often. Punching in the numbers he opened the top as the case clicked open. Brown eyes widened at the sight in side the case.

Deccom Inc. Had been preparing for a grand unveiling of their latest invention. Something that would revolutionize and quite frankly, shock the world. It would change the definition of how everything was defined and written. They were about to change the world. All with that one suit case.

When the suit case was opened, it's contents, or rather, occupant, was awakened. The suitcase itself was a highly classified and well designed stasis pod of sorts upon further inspection. The small woman inside was completely naked, her pale skin covered in freckles as she laid there in a little curled ball. Beneath her goldenrod hair pale grey eyes slowly blinked open as a few buttons beeped and buzzed around her. Slowly the woman sat up, her hair cascading over her shoulders and hiding the curves of her bare chest as she looked for the other life form in the room. "Unit A1.375. May I have a name please?" Her voice was soft, but, oddly monotone as she looked at him with emotionless eyes.

Deccom Inc. had created the perfect humanoid companion and the only one of its kind had just been stolen.

Taking a few steps away from his table Orin stared dumbstruck at the girl sitting in the suitcase. A girl who was very much naked. He had not signed up for human trafficking. In fact it was where he drew the line. Grabbing the back of one of his metal dinning room chairs he dropped his head onto his hands trying to work this out. It could be possible that this is what Deccom Inc. had been working on. He would need to talk to Phoenix about any breakthroughs in the android department.

When she,it...what pronoun was he suppose to use, talked Orin snapped his head up making sure to make eye contact. Okay computers had advanced in leaps and bounds but he was sure that they didn't sound so human. It couldn't have been a real human though. Damnit. Pushing off the chair he ran an hand through his mused brown hair. He stalked half way towards his living room before turning around and staring once more at the girl shaped computer sitting on his dinning room table. "Phoenix we have a problem."
" yes?"
" The package is a human girl."
" I'm coming over." The hacker was always straight to the point when they conversed about a job. Not that they talked much outside of work. There was a distinctive click that let him know the line was now dead.

Keeping his distance from the table he let out a sigh as he watched the girl.

Deccom Inc. had advanced the android market in leaps and bounds and the woman on the table was the most advanced one on the market. Everything on her looked and felt human. Grown from real human cells, she was developed in a lab and integrated with bio-circuitry to create a high functioning, thinking, and growing organism. At certain parts of their development they could be integrated for more specific features, servantry or manual labor type work so that their muscle mass would grow more and they would have lass drive to grow intellectually, or they could be integrated to have a high drive for sexual intimacy. Being the first of her kind, The unit the Orin had taken was a standard blank unit, able to grow and develop as she so chooses, with of course her owners guidance.

The only key is, she needs a name first. The unit's true potential isn't fully developed until a true identity is given. Upon purchasing, the customer is to dub their new Android with a name and thus allowing their unit to blossom into a new individual and being. If a name is with held, their personality and potential is blocked until they are given the opportunity to become a true 'Person'.

The woman sitting on Orin's table watched him curiously as he backed away but said nothing. Slowly she climbed out of the suitcase and stood beside the table. It wasn't proper to sit atop a table after all. Reaching inside the suitcase she depressed a few buttons and shut the mechanism down before closing it altogether. Turning around she faced the man in the other room, clasping her hands in front of her, concealing her lower anatomy while her hair still hid her chest. After a long moment of just standing there she quietly walked across the room and stood before him. She was small, just over five foot tall as she looked up at him with bright eyes.

"May I have a name please? Clothes would also be appropriate. " Staring up at him she blinked a few times, but her face for the most part remained mostly unchanging.

He could really use Phoenix's help right about now. Not that he was sure the hacker could handle the naked girl standing...oh man she was standing right in front of him now. Heat inched it's way up his neck staining his cheeks red. He needed to keep a straight head, focus. This was no different then if something went wrong in a heist. If you panicked you got caught. Dragging the hand that was still running through his hair down his face Orin closed his eyes and tried deep calming breaths. He could handle this he was adaptable.

He just had to think it through. First there was no way that the girl in front of him- who he still refused to look at- was a human girl. For one she had been in a suitcase with no air for who knows how long. Second she was Deccom's new big thing. He was positive they couldn't have been that balls to have used a living human for their test subject. So she had to be so crazy science experiment they were about to show off.

So she wasn't human which means he shouldn't feel like a pervert for looking at her...her face. Yeah he was just going to stare at her face. Meeting her big light blue eyes Orin heaved another strained sigh, seemed he was going to be doing a lot of that tonight. " A name? You want me to name you?" His night could not possibly get weirder. After this he was taking a nice long vacation. Maybe go hit up an art museum in France. Taking a step away from the...package. Yeah that would work for now. Taking a step away from the package he held up hi right hand as if he was going to stop her from moving any closer. " How about you stand there and I'll go see what I can do for clothes." That should make it a little easier on him.

Without waiting for the package's response Orin turned on his heels and walked towards his room. His apartment wasn't very big, it was more like a loft apartment then anything else. Everything was open with the exception of the three doors down the small hallway. The master bed room was on the right. The bed room lite up as he entered it clothes were scattered across the floor and the kings sized bed. Books were cluttered on the single bookshelf he kept in his room. Books were hard to come by in this day and age with everything being read electronically now. The ones he had gathered-stolen- were a guilty pleasure of his. The room was pretty barren of any personally touches.

Grabbing a large black t-shirt and a pair of sweats that smelled cleaned the dark haired thief stood in his room for a few seconds longer. When he realized he was hiding from what was essentially a computer Orin swore at himself and marched out of the room.

The android watched him, or rather his reactions. The redness as it crawled up his neck and face. She stored the reactions in the back of her memory for later and continued to watch him. When he questioned her name, her eyes seemed to light up a bit, the first hint of potential emotion on her. "Yes, please. A name." She went to take a step closer, to follow him but his hand seemed to indicate to stay so she did.

Her eyes followed him until he disappeared from sight then her gaze switched to exploring the room. IT wasn't as interesting at the man so her gaze went back to the open door as she waited for him. When he appeared with the clothing she waited until it was offered to her before she took it. "May I receive a name as well?" It wasn't in her make up to wait so long from waking up to go without being identified. She stood there with the clothes in her hands as she looked up at him. Eyes stuck on him she blinked slowly as she deftly pulled on the over sized sweat pants he had brought her. They were much too big but the draw string in the waist kept them from falling down.

Then she paused again, seeming to still be waiting for a name before she pulled the tee shirt on over her head. Again it was too big, hanging off of one shoulder as she pulled her hair out of the collar and straightened it. Clasping her hands before her once more in what seemed to be her standard pose she looked up at him, waiting patiently. "My name please?"

The clothes fit about how he expected they would but it wasn't like he had any female clothes laying around. Maybe he should have told Phoenix to stop and pick him up some. It's not like he could keep loaning out his sweats. No that he was thinking of keeping her here. No he had to...had to...could he really hand her over to his employer. Who know what a rival company would do to her. But she had seen his face- it was probably stored in her hard drive- and prison wasn't a place he had ever planned on visiting. And when did he start referring to her as a she. Heaving another sigh Orin just gave up the mental battle of trying to not think of the living computer in front of him as a girl. A girl who wanted a name.

Was it like naming a child? If he named her would that mean he had some responsibility to her? All he could think about was the voice of a nun telling him not to name the strays. ' you'll get attached that way.' God, was it okay to compare one of the most advanced pieces of technology to a stray dog in an alley. The voice brought back a different memory.A memory fourteen years in the past. Big green eyes, curly red hair, and the feeling of holding hands and crossing the street for ice cream. Dammit. " Lets just go sit on the couch. I'm waiting for someone to get here."

Orin wasn't sure if she would follow him or not so he wrapped his hand around her smaller wrist and lead her towards the black couch. The couch was ten paces away from his dinning room table normally. Since he didn't want to feel like he was dragging the girl he had taken smaller steps. The couch was angled so that you could see not only the wall of windows but also the front door. The hacker needed to get here soon. " About this name thing didn't they name you in that lab of theirs?" It was of course a rhetorical question. If they had named her she wouldn't be asking him for one.

Her eyes went down to stare at his hand as it circled her wrist. This was new. The scientists prohibited contact of any sort unless it was while she was shut down or in stasis. They had told her contact out here would be a high probability and often occurrance but this was a first. The android let him lead her to the couch where she hesitated before sitting down on the soft material. It was so different from the cold metal and stiff plastics of the labs where she was kept. It was... odd. But she couldn't focus on that now. Until she had a name, she was all business.

Her gaze drifted back to his face when he spoke once more. "I am Unit A1.375 to my creators. A Name is your job. It is how I become functioning and how my true capabilities become realized." She stated simply in her monotone voice. Blinking she stared at him, waiting for him to comply with her request. She sat there stiffly, back completely straight, legs folded perfectly. The way one would expect any artificial life form. "May I have a name now please?"

The creators at Deccom Inc. didn't fully realize the magnitude of their creation and how one simple word could effect this beings life. Neither did Orin. With one little word he could set into action a chain of events that no one in this life time, or any, was ever prepared to undertake. This thief had no idea what he had just gotten himself into.

The large sitting chair next to the couch was soft since it was covered in leather. Dropping down into the seat he listened to her as she explained that he would have to name her. It brought up the same questions though. What would it mean to name her? Would he had to keep her, could he even give her back at this point. NO of course not. He never returned anything he had ever stolen. Would he hand her over to his employer? That one he wasn't too sure of. She appeared to be living and though he may dabble in several types of illegal activities human trafficking was not one of them.

Back on the subject of her needing a name. Looking at her again a name did come to mind. Not that he had ever been good at naming things. All of the strays that he did name- despite his warnings not to as a boy- were all mostly names after food.It was a memory of his boyhood that gave life to the name. " Arya." A fond smile graced his lips for a few short seconds before he caught himself. Sitting up a little straighter he cleared his throat. " Do that work for you?"

(( And I'm going to go bash my head in. it's short and crappy. sorry.))

The android sat still as she stared at him, unmoving as the man fought his internal battle. The lungs in her small chest, expanded slightly as she breathed. The organs, while grown artificially, were still flesh and blood, just enhanced to their full potential. She blinked once as she stared at him, and then finally, his lips spilled forth a name for her. "Arya." She repeated, confirming the code and name.

Her eyes closed briefly as her muscles relaxed. Instead of sitting stiff as a board, her back curved, shoulders rounded slightly, the tenseness in all her features eased away. Slowly her big eyes opened up, they didn't seem so bland anymore, so dull. Turning her gaze back to Orin a soft smile finally found its way onto her freckled face, her now bright eyes squinting up a bit at the corners. "Thank you." She said softly. Her voice was different now, no longer monotone. It was soft, a sweet soprano that hung lightly in the air. Her eyes drifted over him curiously before it landed on the window behind him she gasped slightly, but was grinning as she rushed to her feet.

Running to Orin's side she grabbed his hand and tugged him up to his feet before going to the large window that over looked the city. Hesitantly she touched the see through feature before she put any pressure on it. "Wow..." Her grin grew as did her excitement. "I've never seen the city before!" She looked up at him, beaming, her hand still clinging to his. "This is amazing!" Blond strands fell over her eyes and she blew them up in a somewhat childish manner, still taking in what she thought to be a tremendous sight. But when she was kept in the same laboratory room for the entire one month of her activation time, any outside view would be superb.

He watched the girl's posture change at just the sound of a name.As if life was breathed into her with that one word.Orin slouched a little more in his chair as he took in the differences of the girl. Her eyes were no longer dull but seemed to glow and she smiled. The first human expression he had seen her make since she stepped out of that suit case. " Yeah you're welcome." It still didn't answer any of the questions firing away in his brain but he figured he could let Phoenix handle. The hacker was going to have a field day with the girl...with Arya.

His mind was tugged back to the present when he was pulled out of his chair by said girl.Bored dark eyes looked out over the city. He had seen the same view every night for the past three years. Everything was glowing. It was a city that never slept. Mainly because the lights kept everyone up. The thief turned his head away from the window preparing to voice his thoughts to the girl. The childlike wonder on her face stopped the words in his throat. Her face lived up to her name sake. He almost laughed, not at her, jut the situation. He lived up t o her namesake alright. Slipping his hand out of hers he patted her head, " Well I guess I should introduce you to her." He waved his other hand out indicating the city itself was the 'her' her was referring to. " Arya this is Palmer 5." The city stood on land that had once gone by New York, but several wars and money exchanging hands and most of the old cities had been renamed. And expanded. Palmer was twice the size of it's predecessor.

"Orin are you there?" A computerized voice called from the area of the door. It had almost slipped his mind that the hacker was coming over. Since they were both involved in the job it made sense that they both should figure out what to do the unforeseen girl.

Looking in the direction of the door Orin called out." Door : code 0937." At the voice activated command the lock on the apartment door slid open. A tall figure in a long tan coat and black knit cap walked into the apartment closing the door. Turning to look down at Arya he removed his hand. " This is my friend. She's going to help figure out what to do with you." He ignored the tan woman's scoff at being labeled his friend.

Arya looked up at him with a smile as he gestured out to the city. Turning her gaze back to the window she rested her forehead against the cool material. "Palmer 5." She echoed softly, but her gaze slowly drifted up to his hand. Then the small woman jumped at the sound of the mechanical voice that came from the door, a small sound escaping her as she scooted a bit closer to Orin.

She looked up at him and then over at the oddly dressed woman as she chewed on her lower lip. "Your friend?" She question. "She doesn't seem very friendly..." She swallowed hard, and grabbed onto Orin's arm. Looking up at him her blonde bangs fell across her eyes before she brushed them aside. Her brow was drawn together, a look of confusion written on her innocent face. "What do you mean by 'figure out what to do with me'?" She asked him. "I belong here now, with you..." Her voice trailed off and she chewed on the inside of her lip a moment as she looked from the odd woman back to Orin. "Don't I?"

He was the man that had activated her, named her. She awoke to him. Was he not her care taker now? Was she not to belong to him?

"Orin?" She looked up at him, her bright eyes full of worry.

Slipping out of her coat Phoenix, though her real name was Darlene, tossed the tan colored outerwear over the back of the couch. She arched a single thin eyebrow a smirk on her face that dripped with sarcasm.Orin ignored the female hacker. His attention back on Arya.He wasn't sure how to explain that he had stolen her so no she really didn't belong with him. It did how ever answer the 'if I name her am I responsible for her?' question. "Arya..I..um..I'm not sure if you can stay here yet." Not like he could hand her over now. Best case scenario his employer would simply destroy her. Worst, he had people pull her apart and found out how she worked. No he couldn't finish this job.

Removing her grip he placed both of his hands on either of her shoulders. His light brown eyes stared into her blue ones. It was her personality , and a little it the name he gave her, that fueled his next comment, " We'll find a way for you to stay."

From her spot next to his chair the hacker clicked her tongue and Orin swore another sound had ever held such disappointment. With his hands still on Arya's shoulders he gave his sometimes friend mostly just partner a glare.

Everything about her was dark from her long straight black hair, her dark brown eyes, and the dark tan of her skin.It all contrasted greatly with the light blue dress she wore over white floral lace tights. Orin figured she had thrown on what ever housewifey outfit she had worn that day and headed out. Jeff was probably at home with the kids; he was sure he'd be getting a call at some ungodly hour tomorrow.

Staring up at him, she watched him struggle to give her a real answer. He wasn't sure? "But.." She was confused, that much was certainly clear. Arya almost protested as he removed her hands from his arm but she let him as she swallowed. His strong hands were heavy on her thin shoulders, but the weight was somehow comforting, reassuring as his soft brown eyes met hers. Slowly she nodded, offering him up a small smile.

But hearing the scoff from the other woman, her smile faded and she stepped a bit closer to Orin. Gaze slowly shifting over to Phoenix she wrinkled her nose a bit, wondering what the other woman's purpose was in determining her home. Her home was here with Orin. Right?

Slowly her hand reached up and rested atop of on of his as it sat on her shoulder. Arya just liked the contact, the warmth made her feel secure. She didn't want to be taken away. Glancing back up to Orin her worried smile struggled to stay on her face, and the fear showed in her crystalline eyes. "I want to stay..." She said in just a whisper. "Why does she think that's bad?" She asked him. It was clear by the other woman's body language, she wasn't happy.

He was surprised Darlene had kept her mouth shut this long. Body language and noises weren't really her thing.Arya must have freaked her out as much as she did him just a short time ago.Now he couldn't find one similarity between Arya and the naked human shaped thing that had been in the suit case. He knew she wasn't human but she didn't act anything like a computer either. She acted like a child scared of being taken away from their home. Orin knew what that look very well. "Darlene's just a being grouchy."

That seemed to be the last straw for the hacker. the heels of her ankle boots clicked across the hard wood floor till she wast standing at her full height in front of the thief and the android. "Really Orin I'm being grouchy. How do you think the heads of Deccom are going to feel in the morning when they find their new toy has been stolen? or what about Kavar? Thinks he's going to take the idea of you getting cold feet lightly?" By this point the tall woman was right in his face. They had a lot to lose if this job got screwed up. She of course wasn't tied to it. She never was. There was the thing with her having a family to keep safe.

Orin knew she was right.God did he know she was right. Not that his employer, Kavar the CEO of one of Deccom's biggest rival companies, had ever met him face to face. Orin had been doing this for years. Still they could track him down and that wouldn't end to well. Looking back down at Arya the pit in his stomach grew." I know Darlene but...god just look at her." She was a hacker he knew that she would realize what they would do to her. Hell he was sure a part of her wanted to take Arya apart and see what made her go." I can't just hand her over."

Arya took a few small steps back, her feet getting lost in his much too big sweat pants, as the other woman approached. Small hands clung to Orin's shirt as she tried to half hide behind him, seeming to fear that it was this woman that would be the one taking her away. A glare however managed to find its way onto her freckled face as she listened to the woman berate her rescuer. She didn't like that tone being used with him.

"I am not a toy." She said sharply. Her face still glaring up at the tanned woman. The anger, real anger was clear on her face for being referred to as such a thing. Her knuckles were white as her grip on Orin's shirt tightened. Her features softened though when Orin looked down at her. The anger twisted to more confusion as he spoke.

She blinked as she tried to figure out what exactly they were talking about. "Hand me over? To who? Do you... not want me?" The last part fell from her lips like lead weights crashing to the floor, she could barely force herself to ask. The thought of not being wanted was her biggest fear. If she wasn't wanted then she had nothing. Closing her eyes she tried to think. What if it wasn't Orin, what if it was this Darlene woman. Opening her eyes she looked back up to her. "Is it you? You are trying to make Orin give me away? Why?"

Dark brown eyes turned away from the thief to stare at the girl clinging to his side. The dark skinned hacker saw her like she saw another computer, even if slightly more advanced. Really it was pure genius that had built her.If Orin had stolen the girl for pure amusement sake she would go easier on him. This was different. Orin stood by the girl like he really would fight her. As if she was going to make a grab at the blonde computer girl. " He was not suppose to keep you." Those dark eyes turned back onto the thief. " The plan was to hand her over to Kavar and collect the money. Just be cause she looks human doesn't change anything."

Orin met her dark eyes with a hard look of his own. He had already made up his mind about not turning Arya over. Now he was just trying to figure out the safest place for her. And him if it came to that. " It does." FOr a woman with two kids he couldn't figure out how Darlene could look at Arya and not think that it mattered. she didn't just look human she had feeling and reactions. And she had never seen the city before.

"It can't." Those two words started their staring contest. Neither willing to back down.Orin wanted to keep Arya safe. If he brought her back she would stop being Arya, Deccom would turn her into something else. If he gave her to Kavar they would tear her apart with out a second thought. Darlene wanted to keep her family safe and that in a way extended to the thief she some times partnered up with.

Her eyes locked with the hacker's, trying to figure out the woman and her reason for wanting her to leave. "Not supposed to?" She echoed, confused as she looked back up to Orin. But at the mention of money she glanced back to Darlene. She knew in the back of her mind that an initial fee is paid for her. But the concept of prices and vales was beyond her. She had not been taught their concepts or meanings yet. She knew what money was, and its important and uses but... She didn't know what it was to be worth a lot. She had no idea how much someone would be willing to pay to dismantle and dissect her.

Hearing Orin stand up so firmly for her, lit a spark of hope with in her. At least that meant he didn't want to hand her over to this woman. What exactly was to happen to her she didn't know but, she just wanted to stay with him. But then the hacker retorted her own short, but just as harsh reply before they stared at one another.

"I am staying here." She announced with a note of finality into the tense room. "I am staying with Orin." Her gaze was set on Darlene, but her grip adjusted nervously on Orin. She was unsure of how he would feel of her outburst but she felt it needed to be said. They couldn't decide this for her. She had a right to help decide too didn't she? She belonged with Orin, it was where she wanted to be. There was so much she wanted him to show her, so much she wanted to learn about him... How could she if they sent her away? Arya swallowed hard as she awaited a decision to be made.

His arms uncrossed a hand dropping down to rest once again on Arya's shoulder. To show Darlene that the decision had already been made. He would need her help. They would need her help.Since Arya was a prototype there was no telling what kind of tracking system she had in her."Darlene..." Dark eyes continued to stare into his for another minute before they looked down into the blue eyes of the android.

She would admit that the eyes looked human enough. Even had a light to them that differed from that of a computer screen. But the girl was dangerous in ways Orin refused to see. They knew nothing about her. Nothing.Deccom wasn't leaking anything about their new project. Arya- as he kept calling her- could be a weapon system they had been planning to sell to the military. They could have a master control switch. The possibilities were endless. Also her name was a curiosity. It sounded familiar and not something one would normally name a computer system.

With one last look at the thief, who had tensed when she turned her eyes towards the girl, a low growl formed in the back of her throat. "I drop the kids off at school at 7:30. Be at the lab by 7:45." Turning around she headed straight for the door. Snatching her coat on the way. " I hope you can live with what's going to happen next thief." He flinched a little at the name. She all called him that when she was pissed. He could stand up to her all he wanted, and most of the time didn't care about her opinion one way or another but she was still a mom. It meant that she had this uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel as if they were in the wrong with a simple tone of voice a few short words.

Orin didn't move again until the door shut behind her. All the tension seemed to drain out of him. Man it was too late to deal with all of that. "You're going to stay."

She glanced up briefly at Orin as his hand settled on her shoulder before her gaze turned back to the woman. She swallowed nervously as eye contact was made and held for a few long and tense moment. What did the woman see in her? What did she want? Why was she so intent on tearing her away from here?

"Lab?" She echoed softly, but it was drowned out by the slam of the door that caused her to jump. She looked up at Orin, he seemed much more at ease, but Arya wasn't. That one little word scared her. More than it should have. She glanced back at the door. "Why do I have to go to the lab? I thought... I don't want to go back to Deccom..." She didn't know that there was more than one lab, that they weren't the only scientists. "Please, don't make me go back there tomorrow." She pleaded. "They aren't good people they... do bad things there." She could remember the initial tests. The stamina and endurance, the strength and flexibility... the pain tests. External stimuli, internal. They said they had to be sure all of her nerve ends had developed properly. It was more like torture. Then there were all of the mental capability tests. She was 'born' into the body of a twenty something year old woman. She needed the brain of one. The unending hours of tests and drills programming her to be capable of everything a normal human would be. It didn't sound that bad, but if you actually had to do them it was a different story.

"You said I get to stay." She nodded. "You mean for good though right? Not just tonight?" Arya was getting worked up, a real fear or getting turned back over to Deccom Inc. was evident as tears started to well up in her eyes. "I don't want to leave Orin, I want to stay with you." The last part was barely a whisper as it fell from her soft lips, a few bangs fell over one of her eyes as she stared up at him.

The tension that had left his body moments ago was back. The broken quality of her voice mixed with fear unsettled his stomach. Her words reassured him that he was making the right choice in not giving her back. Taking her hand Orin led the frightened girl back towards the couch.Since it seemed like Arya took comfort in his presence he choose to sit next to her instead of in his favorite chair. Her kept one hand wrapped around hers while the other brushed her bangs away from her face.

" Hey you are not going back to Deccom." A twist of anger settled in his stomach as he thought of the fear that the company had put into their own creation. "We are just going to go see Darlene's tomorrow. She's going to make sure that no one can track you down. Promise."

She would probably run some other kind of test as well but the thief had only the basic grasp on technology so he would have to trust the hacker.Which he did even if she was being moody. He would have to take care of the Kavar situation on his own. Later when Arya had warmed up to Darlene or he felt comfortable leaving her alone.

Arya let him lead her over to the couch, her hand still clinging tightly to his. A single tear managed to escape her eyes and leave a sleek trail down the curve of her cheek as she looked up at him. His words eased her fears for the most part. She wasn't going back to Deccom. She never wanted to go back to that place. But Darlene didn't exactly seem too happy with her so the prospect of going to see her wasn't all that exciting.

Slowly she nodded and wiped at her face with the back of her free hand. "Okay." she said softly. "I'll admit I don't really know what you mean by that but I trust you." IT was either massive genius or a massive flaw that the androids Deccom Inc. developed were instantly set with an almost infallible trust and belief of whom ever named them. They also left out almost every detail of their design. The androids themselves knew nothing of their makeup or components. It prevented them from deconstructing themselves or one another, and it also kept them acting human rather than like machines.

The woman sitting beside him sighed, her eyelids getting heavy. It was late after all and for her first night it had been... rather stressful. Interesting, but stressful. "I'm... sleepy." She looked up at him. "This has all been exhausting and confusing. Can we go to bed now?" Her eyes were still a little red but no more tears threatened to fall. Arya hadn't gotten a real nights sleep ever so this would be another first for her, Orin would be introducing her to a lot he would find out. All she knew was that she wan't his comfort and that meant staying close to him. Would he let her do that while she slept?
