Tavin helped Lainey with the dishes and helped take care of them . After that him Lainey went to the living room to watch TV. Where Tavin was from they had something similar but it was losing popularity. The shows were interesting . Some were shows about other peoples lives , some were drama, Others were what they called science fiction. Tavin mentally noted the science was inaccurate . "See you in the morning Lainey. Same time as today? "

Lainey was sitting watching tv when she heard Thomas ask she turned the tv off then stood up saying "Yup same time, you know where your room is I am going to bed." She turned and headed up the stairs and took the first door on the left, closing the door behind her. She got changed and slip into bed falling asleep. Her parents got home late and went straight to bed not noticing Thomas.

Tavin turned the TV off Lainey's parents had came home .He felt guilty and went up to the room. He dressed for bed, got the clothes he needed for tomorrow out and set and alarm on a watch like device. Tavin was confident he could do what was expected of him . Tomorrow would be a different experienced for him.

The next morning Lainey got up at 6 again and went and took a shower, walking back to her room she knocked on Thomas's door saying "Time to get up." She went back to her room and got changed into her uniform then headed down the stairs and into the kitchen to eat.

Tavin heard Lainey wake him up before his . He showered and changed into his uniform for his new job. He went down stairs and got some breakfast . "I'm sorry I was up so late last night. I promise it won't happen again." Tavin and Lainey finished their breakfast and left for work.

Lainey smiled then began walking to work after a few moment she said "It's alright we will make in time but you may want to set your alarm a little earlier tomorrow." When they got to work Lainey grabbed a note pad and went to a table to start working.

Tavin did the same. He was surprised that not all of the customers were as kind as Lainey and her parents. He did his best filling orders and get them there on time. The restaurant was short staffed and only had an one other server than them. After the shift was over, Tavin said. "It is a shame Lainey not all people are like you and your parents. I hope I did a good job today. I'm glad I could help your boss out by working for him."

Lainey finished up and put her things back, when she heard Thomas's voice she turned around and looked at him smiling. Letting him finishe what he was saying Lainey then said "I know their not but I guess that there can only so many people like me out there" she paused "You did a great job today, and the boss is just glad that he has someone else to help out around here in the mornings." She walked towards the door and said "So what do you want to do today? I know that this town doesn't have a lot of entertainment but we would think of something."

"I'm glad you think so. What ever you suggest is best I'll be fine with." In honest truth, Tavin wasn't sure what else the people on this world did for entertainment. Other than television he was at a loss. He wanted to learn more about this people the best he could. She knew more about this world than he did.

Lainey smiled then said "How about bowling? I know that the alley isn't all that great but it works just fine", she turned and walked down the street towards the bowling alley. She looked back at Thomas he seemed a little strange he didn't really add a lot to conversations but she just ignored that fact and kept walking towards the alley.

"Bowling? " He didn't know what it was but it sounded interesting to him. "Sounds like fun to me." He smiled. He tried to do this more know that he was on a mission. Usually he had a serious expression on his face. "I hope you can teach me how to play ,I've never done it before. " He hoped this comment didn't seem strange to Lainey. There had to be at least one person on this world who had never played it before.

Lainey stopped at the door and looked at him saying "Did you live under a rock or something, I thought that ever city or town had a bowling alley." She smiled then said "Nevermind I will help you", she opened the door then went inside and walked up to the counter and got a lane and shoes then looked at Thomas then said "Tell him your shoes size he will get you a pair of shoes and then come find me at on of the lanes." She turned and walked away headed towards one of the lanes then sat down to switch shoes.

He said his shoe size and joined Lainey to change his shoes. He hoped she wasn't starting to suspect anything strange about him . That was the last thing he needed. He observed some of the others bowling. It looked intersting to him. " This looks interesting. How long have you been bowling. " He asked to lighten the move.

Lainey smiled when Thomas joined her then said "Umm ever since I was little my parents used to bring me here once every week. But when I started uiversity I had to focus more on school." She finished tieing her shoes then sat up asking "So what did you do in your spare time if you didn't have a bowling alley where you lived?"

"I read , Spent time with my mother and sister. My father was away a lot when I was a child." He hoped she didn't ask to many questions . he only knew so many names from this world. It was getting complicated fast. "It's good you have a good relationship with your parents." He said to her.

Lainey smiled then said "We can go to the local library after if you want, and my relationship with my parents is better then most I guess", she thought about if for a moment then said "What did your father do?" She stood up and looked at Thomas.

"Sounds wonderful." This presented Tavin another chance to learn about Earth. "My Father traveled a lot.." This was a vague response but he hoped that it would answer her question. In truth, his father was a member of the Galactic Assembly Military.

Lainey smiled when he said that going to the library would be nice but then when he said that his dad traveled a lot she thought about it for a moment then said "Was you dad in the army or something?" She knew that there were a lot of jobs that made people travel but the most common one was army. She turned around then said "We should probably start our game so that we have time to head over to the library before diner."

"He was. I still don't see him much."It was the truth. His father still was as busy. Tavin enjoyed bowling. He had a hard time playing the first time, but was a little better the second game. They had a few hours till dinner, so they went toward the local library.

Lainey smiled as they walked and said "So who is your favorite author?" She reached the library and opened the door walking in. She didn't continue talking about Thomas's dad because it looked like it kind of brought him down. She walked down a science fiction row and pulled her favorite book off the shelf, of course it was about outer space. She looked back at Thomas then said "What types of books do you read?"

"Mostly non-fiction. But these type of books look interesting. My mother wanted me and my sister to stay away from fiction as a child." He picked up the book [book=%2$s]The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy[/book] and looked at it. "Have you read this book before? Would you recommend it?"

Lainey smiled then said "Really that would be horrible for me" she looked at the book and said "Haven't read it sorry It must be one of the newer books they got". She looked around then said "If you can't find a book here we can go to a different section."

"I think I'll get this book. I don't have a card but I hope to soon. What other genres do you like? " He liked this library it reminded him of the one where he was from. the one at home still had paper books but it was mostly computerized.

Lainey smiled then said "Ummm I don't know I like science fiction the most but I sometimes read a horror or a mystery book", she smiled again then said "It's alright I have my library card here so we can take the books out on it."

"Thank you Lainey." They each got a few books and then went toward Lainey's home for dinner. Tavin wondered if he should tell her about himself . He would wait till the weekend to do it.
