In his room, there was a narrow window. It had a bar stretching from top to bottom, so there were only a few inches of space between each sill, and the glass was behind it. Lovett's delicate chin rested on the cool sill, where he was able to look down into the courtyard. It was protected by thick iron gates, and the gates were wrapped with light ivy that made it hard to see the street outside. But he wasn't allowed outside the gates. Turning, Lovett slid off the ottoman he'd set beside the window, crawling to his small bed in the corner of the room and curling up as small as he could make himself, tucking his long tail around himself and turning his head to the silver pitcher on the low table. When he looked into it, he could see the water and the slight rainbow-like cloud within it, and grimaced even as he licked his dry lips. Putting inhibitors in the water was a rather intelligent thing his master did now. He couldn't go more than a day without it, his lithe body wouldn't allow that. He brushed back his dark hair to cover his body and took several deep swallows from the pitcher, grimacing at the very light, bitter overtone, and set it down, closing his eyes as his body and mind began battle with the foreign substance in the water. It was a fight he knew he'd lose, however.

He'd dozed by the time the door unlocked from across the room and someone entered. The form was tall and animal, a long, thin wolf with fine, long white fur he kept in check using Lovett, and an intense, wolf face with large ears that made him the best listener of his pack. Closing the door, Lovett's master, Eren, strode forward and used a clawed hand to pull him up and to his feet, then left him standing by the bed as he gathered powdery-blue clothing from the low dresser nearby. Lovett gritted his pointed teeth, his light brown ears plastered back against his head as Master Eren returned and pulled Lovett forward a bit, maneuvering him like a large doll as he was dressed. His clothing today, as usual, was elegant. A light blue shirt, followed by a tailed vest and a silk ribbon around his neck. Then flowing pants the same color as the shirt, and a long, flat wrap of the same silky material as the ribbon around his neck.

Then, without a word, he was left, though the door was kept open. He knew by now what he was required to do, and did it. He pulled his large, feathered blue fan off the wall nearby and left the room, entering a large hallway. Then he turned left, going down the curled stairs and through the main entryway, finding Master Eren where he was each morning; he laid out like a stuffed thing on a chaise lounge, his favorite piece of furniture if Lovett didn't know any better, because it was overly ornate and deep red, and incredibly hard to find. On the table beside it were the grooming tools Eren preferred most of all: A soft, long-bristled brush beside a shorter, metal brush, and a jar that was full of a sweet-smelling fragrance that kept Eren's fur bright and shiny, the envy of not only his pack, but every other in the city. It all sat on the folded wrap that Eren had been wearing just a moment ago. Lovett carefully set his fan on a chair nearby and approached, crawling onto the chaise and then onto Eren's stomach. It was obvious to anyone that he was exceptionally strong, and under Lovett, he felt like a stone, never giving. When he reached forward to grab the first brush, the metal one that would remove loose hair, he could feel Eren breathe in his scent. He knew he was drugged when he didn't feel like doing anything about it.

Lovett didn't mind the morning and evening brushing and fur care. When Eren was finished, Lovett would get a brushing that would give his hair a shiny appearance, which would add to his flow as he danced to entertain Eren, whether he were alone or entertaining packmates.

It had been a long time since Crimsen had seen his home high in the mountains. The beautiful gardens, the slow-moving stream that froze over in winter... He missed it only slightly. His mission drove him to continue his fruitless search of the many towns and cities, searching for slaves and freeing them, searching for the rightful heir to the throne... And after all these years, maybe... Just maybe he had something to go on.

As he approached the shining metropolis that the wolves had claimed for their own, he had heard rumours about Neko slaves within the capital walls. Wolves of high influence and power kept them like pets, forced them to do manual labour or worse. Crimsen hoped that these rumours were true and that one of these slaves would be the one, the one to lead Ishikai into power once more. He kept to himself as he came closer to the gates of the capital, knowing the types that often lived in the slums. These wolves had been outcasted, they were packless and ruthless. Some found pleasure from murdering unsuspecting visitors, so he stayed in the shadows, moving stealthily and swiftly.

He lingered on conversations, hearing the drunken wolves talk about some important pack members, the leaders of the city. He stopped in his tracks when he heard a familiar name. Eren. A silver wolf of high importance to the pack, and also the one that had been rumoured to own a slave. "Gotcha..." he whispered under his breath, the sound being filtered through his gas mask and becoming inaudible. With a blink of an eye, Crimsen had already moved from the rooftops of the slums, and was already near the gates to the city. He couldn't just walk in and knew he'd have to find another way in. He scaled the wall, using his abnormally long claws to grip at the metallic surface.

The jar was full of a silky substance that felt like gel at first, but smoothed into fur and hair seamlessly and gave it a beautiful shine, along with the scent of jasmine that was so rare, because so many forests were dead. Lovett pulled his hands down his master's back to work the substance into the thick fur, which so many would kill for. Had tried to kill for. All the males that had tried for Eren's place as alpha had been nearly killed by the wolf's superior strength and speed. When he was finished with the scent, Lovett slid off and onto the floor, sliding his hands over his pants to take away the overpowering smell. He was already dizzy, after all, and almost floating, even as Eren sat up and pulled him back, running his clawed hands over Lovett's ears and then brushing his hair out with the soft-bristled brush. It pulled only slightly, then Eren tied a long white ribbon around a section and braided it in with the rest, leaving the ribbon to trail in a fan-formation several inches below the end of the braid.

Eren's hand treated Lovett's tail, running the brush over its long fur. It was a rather sensitive appendage, and Lovett was high enough to take appreciation in the brush's soft bristles. Eren must have felt the switch in Lovett's demeanor, because he put the brush aside and leaned forward. "Will my pet purr for me?" The tone was a growl. A wolfish growl that Lovett was used to, but it still mixed his emotions. Underneath the drugs he tensed and wanted to fight back, snap at the so-sure-of-himself tone in Eren's voice. It was overpowered by the cloud of downers that lowered his inhibitions, so he did so, breathing out a low rumble and hearing Eren laugh quietly. "Good. Dance for me, and I will let you eat."

Lovett closed his eyes, and opening them again was a challenge. He stood, scratched gently by Eren's sharp claws, a tiny red line to add to the many other lines that had long since healed. He picked up the fan he had discarded, flipping it open and stepping into the center of the room for Eren to see him easily. Despite the lightheaded, floating feeling the cocktail of drugs in his system, he moved fluidly, twisting into a whirling dance that passed by Eren, and on the third rotation the silk wrap around him was snagged and twisted around Eren's strong hand so as Lovett moved, his clothes sewn into the wrap so they pulled loose a layer at a time. At first he had refused to partake, until all his water and food had become laced with that bitter drug he still didn't even know the name of.

The city was old, but cleaned and fixed to look new. Crimsen would have thought the wolves had built it themselves, if he didn't know his history. This city had belonged to the Bergu; boar-like people that were brilliant at inventing technologies and once loved to build great cities. Before the century-long war that struck the land, the Ulewo people took the city from the Bergu. They had been the beings that instigated the war and that had nearly destroyed the world. Now they were worshipped like Gods by the wolves. Crimsen jumped from the top of the wall to a rooftop nearby. He landed easily and softly, almost gliding through the air.

People never looked up and it was the best way for him to sneak about the city. His appearance would raise questions and he preferred to get in and out with his quarry without having to decapitate thousands of wolves. His trusty blades sat on his back and he moved stealthily, their blades stained red with the blood of his slain enemies. He had trained for years, most of his childhood had been devoted to learning how to kill and assassinate. Once his Master had died, he had set off on his task to find the heir.

His pointed ears twitched occasionally, pin-pointing noises in the streets below, and listening to the conversations happening. He couldn't hear anyone mention Eren, so kept moving across the rooftops. He stopped near a large and important looking building, perching on the edge of the roof like some sort of gargoyle. He could hear more wolves talking, and these ones had mentioned Eren. It seemed Crimsen had found the building the wolf lived in.

Most of Lovett's clothing were gone by the time he was told to still. He did so quickly, folding his fan and lying it and himself on a chair nearby as packmates of Eren began to be ushered in. He was to lower his head when his superiors approached, and allow himself to be touched and spoken to however they wanted. While Eren was Lovett's master, he allowed his packmates authority over Lovett as long as the young slave did as Eren said in the end. He lifted his chin when the pressure told him to do so, keeping his eyes low so not to meet the eyes of the grey wolf. They all wore similar wraps in ornate styles, but Eren's was the most ornate. They spoke deliberately in a growling language that only wolves could understand, and sat around the area as a rather small wolf, one not quite classified as a runt and forced out of the city, appeared with a large silvery tray. There were varieties of meat lined among one another, separated from fruit that was so hard to find outside specially grown greenhouses.

Eren nodded down to Lovett, who fell onto his knees on the floor. When one of them gestured forward, at the amusement of the others, he held up a piece of red meat. Lovett crawled forward, stretching upward to reach it with his mouth---but never his hands, as he was instructed from the very start---to bite the meat from the claw of the gray wolf. He leaned forward as it was slowly moved away, and he found himself losing his already unsteady balance, falling forward onto the wolf's lap. The small group laughed, and Lovett was hauled up before being allowed the meat, which he swallowed quickly before it could be taken away again.

His tail was pulled and he twisted around, losing his balance and falling to another chorus of laughter. He pulled himself up, gestured to again with the promise of more meat. He couldn't get to it an easy way, so he had to slink forward gently, watched while his tail lifted as in greeting despite himself. Somewhere under the blanket of drugs, Lovett hated himself.

A window... Crimsen gently climbed to it, glad to find it was open. He stayed near it, his ears constantly moving to listen to any sound of alarm. Suddenly he heard a wolf talking inside the house, and the door to the room was opened. He hung back, his hand resting on the hilt of one of his blades. If the wolf looked out of the window and saw him, he'd slice its face off in one strike. But instead, the wolf left again and Crimsen could hear someone in the room, breathing hard like they had run a marathon. Crimsen peered into the room, smiling when he sighted the neko.

The poor creature looked bedraggled and roughed up, and lay on the ground either because he was so tired, or because he had been drugged. Crimsen had seen it before. Nekos weren't naturally subservient and to make them better obey their 'Masters', they would be given many different drugs. He climbed through the window, landing on the soft carpet quietly, his clawed feet leaving no marks. He approached the neko, glancing over the form. "Are you alright?" his voice came out filtered through the gas mask he wore and made him sound almost robotic. "It's OK, I am a friend."

When his entertainment value ran its course in every possible way, Lovett was dressed well once more, and his hair and fur was brushed. Again Eren braided up his hair in that ribbon and he was taken up to his room, pushed in and given another jug of water that had the same bitter taste when he took a long drink. Growling, he collapsed near his bed, but at least he was on the soft half of the ground on the carpet. Sighing, he curled himself up and picked at his hair, the uncomfortable ribbon to try to get it out, and then went to his tail, which had been wrapped in ribbon as well and tugged more than he liked. Eventually he gave up and fell into a deep sleep.

Something felt wrong, however. It felt like only a moment passed before he opened his eyes to a shadow and jumped backward, falling onto his back and staring at the strange... creature. It didn't look well built like the wolves, but didn't quite have a Neko's body. And its face was covered in... something? He blinked, trying to understand what he was seeing, then hearing. "Um... Uhh... Mmmm... What... are you? You look... weeeird..." He felt woozy again, the same lightheadedness he got when he ate or drank something that was laced.

Crimsen sighed. This neko was far too intoxicated for him to have a proper conversation. He would save him, yes, but assessing if this one was the heir had to be done later. "I am wearing a mask. Now be quiet, I am getting you out of here." But how? The neko wasn't in any state to climb out the window, and his claws had been blunted. Crimsen's ears twitched as he heard the company downstairs leave. Perhaps... He looked at the neko, digging in his pockets for a bitter root. It would make the neko sick and hopefully sober him up a little bit. "Eat this," he directed, placing the root in the neko's mouth and forcing him to chew and swallow.

Going cross-eyed several times, Lovett turned onto his stomach and tried to sit up. The wolves had given him a lot of alcohol before they were done with him and he was sure it was taking its toll on his body, which was smaller than the wolves'. He finally managed to sit upright and against the nearest thing---the bedframe---and stare at the creature. He was wearing a mask, but he didn't share any scents that Lovett knew, and he only knew two---his own, and the wolves'. When the masked newcomer forced something into his mouth, Lovett couldn't fight back hard, but the taste was awful, and immediately his stomach started twisting. "Eww, ick, what the he...?" He turned away, throwing himself onto his hands and knees and retching, a flood hitting him almost at once.

It felt like an eternity. Bitter vomit and stomach acid pooled between his hands, looking awful enough to make him gag again and scramble back. His stomach and throat burned and ached, and his eyes were watering as though he'd been crying. "Oh, nooo... ew... W-why'd you do that...?" He could see slightly straighter, but everything still had the slightest haze to it. "W-where... we going?"

"I am sorry," Crimsen bowed his head slightly. "I mean no harm, the root is known to help get rid of drugs in your system. What is left now would be the alcohol in your blood and the drugs that had been absorbed before." He turned and focussed on the sounds of Eren downstairs. The wolf hadn't heard his neko, or smelt the sick yet. Wolves' hearing and sense of smell was almost as good as Crimsen's, so no doubt this neko's master would be up to investigate. "I am taking you home, to Ishikai village."

He found his blades and pulled both of them out, glancing at the neko. "I will have to kill your master. Come along if you want, or stay in here. It is your choice." He then tried the door, surprised to find it unlocked. He left the room silently, leaving the door open in case the neko wanted to follow him.

He was still dizzy, but nonetheless stood and stumbled against the wall. There were still drugs in his blood that would eventually be purged, but he wasn't under the influence of the alcohol they had given him. "T-taking me... home? But... I don't have a home..." He kept a hand on the wall, going forward when the door was open. During the day it was left unlocked, but at night it was bolted from the outside. He blinked in the light and held onto the wall, staring at the stairs. Normally he wouldn't have a problem with them, but Eren had to physically haul him up them earlier.

"He..." Lovett's voice was very low. "Eren is usually in his greenhouse at this time... He prefers to be alone, and the door is left open so I'll not bother him..." Eren deserved whatever this... thing was going to do to him. He was tired of Eren's abuse and the abuse of the packmates He didn't exactly want to be the one to kill the wolf, but he wouldn't mind watching from afar.

Crimsen nodded, one ear directed at the neko that struggled to walk behind him and the other scanning for sounds of the wolf. They were alone in the house, which didn't surprise Crimsen. Wolves didn't employ others to cook and clean for them, they often bought slaves, but since nekos were dying out, a lot of them didn't own any. Bergu were not slave material, even though Crimsen had seen wolves kill and eat one before.

He walked down the stairs carefully, not hearing the wolf in the hallway or living area. He crept into what looked like a kitchen, keeping low so no one could see him through the windows. Sure enough, the kitchen led to an outdoor garden area, a magnificent greenhouse. Crimsen moved quickly, crawling across the dirt ground and ducking behind a planter as Eren watered his plants. Soon the wolf would notice Crimsen's scent. Even though he kept himself as scentless as possible, his kind tended to smell like death.

The wolf was bent over a fruit plant, watering it and humming to himself. Crimsen moved along the row of planters so he was close to the wolf. He pulled out his blades once more, which didn't make a noise as they unsheathed. Eren stopped and stood up straight, his nose twitching and his ears alert. He slowly turned around, his eyes falling on the intruder. Before he could react, Crimsen dashed forward, bringing one sword across the wolf's neck and the other plunged deep into his chest.

Eren's face registered the shock and pain of being swiftly murdered, before the body sunk to its knees and then onto the ground in a puddle of blood. Crimsen could smell the liquid, even though it had been mostly filtered by his gas mask. He turned around before the urge to drink was too much to bear. His eyes fell on the neko, who had managed to follow him into the greenhouse and now was staring from the body to Crimsen.

Lovett slid down the stairs on his behind, slowly following the thing---since it didn't smell like him and certainly didn't smell like a wolf---and crept through the ground floor of the large manor. The greenhouse was near the kitchen to give the kitchen as much light as possible, and Eren always kept the doors open so he could hear what was happening in his home. He crept along just out of reach of the other creature and pressed against the glass wall to watch what happened, gasping and moving forward when Eren's pure white fur started darkening to a deep, almost beautiful tone of red. Blood. He'd seen his own many times, and he could count every one because of the light scars they left on his body.

He slunk forward, kneeling at the head of the wolf and clasping his face. "I had to take care of this fur so many years..." He said, mostly to the form above him whose hands were full of bloody blades. "And he'd say only I could compare. It's so much work gone to waste... It's too bad, isn't it?" He sighed, looking up to the masked face. "This... where do I come from if this isn't my home? I was raised here..." He looked down at the wolf's dimmed eyes, but didn't register them.

It was a shame to waste such beautiful fur, but skinning the wolf would take too much time and probably make resisting the urge to drink a lot harder for Crimsen. He was surprised to not hear any remorse in the neko's voice. Sometimes slaves became attached to their masters and it took them a long time to adjust to being free. "Ishikai village. It is where your people live." He smiled behind the mask, even though the neko couldn't see his face. "Where your family lives. Now, answer my question. Before we leave this place, I must know something... What is your name?"

The imperial family all had odd names for nekos, and Crimsen had been searching for one with the name of Lovett. Maybe this one had been named by his master and didn't know his true name. In any case, there was a sure-fire way to find out if this neko was in fact the heir.

The words registered, all of them, but he stared straight ahead, barely breathing. Finally, he gasped in a breath as his eyes dampened. "I have... family...?" His master had told him he was an orphan all his life. That he should be grateful for the home he was in and that he had only to be a pet to be treated well. He hated the wolf, however, and his pack. He openly defied every moment he could, unless he were to be drugged, and he had spent most of his adult life under a heavy fog. "M-my name is Lovett. My master tried to give me a name, but I had a... gold collar around my neck with the name engraved in red gems. He said it was easier than giving me a new name..."

He reached up to his neck. Sometimes he wore the collar when he was out with his master, paraded around to be shown off. The collar was kept in his master's bedroom.

Crimsen exhaled, feeling exhilarated. He couldn't help himself. He put away his blades and hugged the neko tightly. "I've found you, finally... After all these years! Lovett! You don't know how long I have been searching for you! I can't wait to bring you back home! I miss my home too... So many years..." He realised his voice was starting to choke up with emotion and tears were falling into his mask. "Lovett, I am your servant. My family has pledged to care for and protect your bloodline. Your Highness," Crimsen bowed low in respect.

"We must get away before someone discovers Eren's body... Do you wish to bring anything with you? Any possessions? If so, go get them before we leave this place. I got a good look at the layout of the city and I can assume we can stick to the dark alleyways. Then we may have to climb the wall, but I am certain I can carry you up it... I may be small, Your Highness, but I am strong." He had forgotten to clean the blood off his blades and pulled them out, finding water to run over the metal. "My name is Crimsen, by the way."

Lovett gasped, stunned into stillness by the crushing hug. Servant? Your Highness? The words weren't for him. He was a slave. He'd been taken into slavery long ago. He was a slave neko and that was all he'd ever be. Whatever this creature was, he couldn't speak to him quite yet. At the mention of any possessions, he numbly stood and hobbled out of the room, going back upstairs and down the wide hallway, where the double doors to his dead master's room were located. pushing them open, he could smell his master's scent, and some of his own, mingling in the room.

His collar hung above the bed, and he crept forward, grabbing it off its hook and settling on the edge of the bed to stare at it. Gold. Solid gold, and plated so it fit his neck well. His name was embroidered in deep red stones: LOVETT

Did this mean he really was a... royal? It didn't feel like it. He felt like a neko, still, a slave, and he still felt drugged. Crimsen. That was the other one's name. That only just registered, and his head snapped up. Jumping to his feet, he stumbled out of the room in a half-run, half flail, and hit the railing hard. "C-Crimsen...! I... M... I... I don't..." He paused, looking at the collar in his hand. "I'm sorry..."

"What is the matter, Your Highness?" Crimsen asked him, having cleaned his blades and hidden the body among the leafy foliage growing in the greenhouse. He had helped himself to some of the sweet fruit that grew there, savouring the rarity of the taste. He tilted his head and looked at the glimmering collar the neko held in his hands. It was like the one that the late emperor wore. "Your bloodline... The last emperor had a collar similar to this, Your Highness." The neko had grown to be old and wise, but unfortunately died before they could form a battle plan.

He hung his head slightly, his ears drooping. "I... may have lied about your family. Sire... You are the last of your bloodline, as I am the last of mine. But never fear, the people will be your family. I can't wait for you to see the village... I know you'll love it... But for now... We must be off."

Lovett quietly went down the stairs, feeling awkward at being addressed as anything but his name, or 'kitty' or 'my pet'. He rubbed his bare arms and ran his hand absently over the gold. "I... guess I should feel bad for having no more family." Lovett said after a moment's contemplating. "But... But I can't. I like that I have... others of my kind. I've never seen another like me before... Are... is that what you are? You smell different, but..." He leapt off the final step and paused in front of Crimsen. "What... are you? Your scent resembles... the dead. But your mask... would you take it off after we leave the city?" He looked around cautiously, feeling eyes all over.

"P-please, let's just go... I want to get out of here, there... so many bad memories." He slid the collar over his neck and clasped it in the back. It fit perfectly, and felt... warm on his skin. "Do you know the city...?" How else would Crimsen have come to find him? And how had he found him in the first place? There were so many questions Lovett had, and among them, a request to stop being called anything other than his name.

Crimsen left from the back entrance, finding a narrow alley that lead to the main road. They walked down it, his ears alert for sounds of wolves. "I am not a neko, no. My kind were called Vladis, but I am afraid I am the last one." He stopped before the end of the alleyway and found an intersecting one going south. They went along this one, ducking briefly behind a dumpster as a wolf exited one of the buildings and walked in the opposite direction. Crimsen's ears swivelled as they continued, small noises being heard by him easily.

"At the end of this alley is a street that runs around the wall of the city. It is basically unused, save for the few merchants. We should be able to get to the Southern part of the wall, where I will climb." He turned to face Lovett. "Sire, once we are free of the city, I will answer all your questions. But first, we need to get over the wall and away from the slums. If I have to fight, I want you to run, keep running south until you come to a rocky area. There is a cave in there I have made my temporary home."

Lovett blinked, following Crimsen quickly and sticking as closely as he could. His tail was in his hand so it wouldn't inadvertently stick out if they needed to hide quickly. The wolves were everywhere and their scent was unbearably strong, crowding in on all sides. His ears twitched and worked painfully, hearing everything magnified multiple times. He'd never been in this place. They had always avoided the dirty areas, Eren and Lovett, so they would remain clean and free of negative scents.

Blinking at Crimsen, Lovett shook his head hard enough to make his ribboned braid fly. "Leave you behind? No. No. I'm absolutely not doing that. I can fight, Crimsen, I can... I just... need to be free of this... drug first. And I know it goes away within a day or two, I'll be able to hold my own after that, easily. But I won't leave you after all the work you went through to get me out of that hell. And killing my... master." He grimaced at the word, as he always had when Eren couldn't see to punish him.

Crimsen ignored what Lovett had said. They had reached the road. He looked both ways, using very high-pitched sounds to see his surroundings. No wolves nearby and a clean shot to the southern wall. He grabbed Lovett's arm and moved quickly, almost teleporting to the wall. He moved silently along it, using his echolocation to pinpoint any dangers. They were lucky. All the wolves seemed to be elsewhere today, and not even a merchant walked the road.

They got to the part of the wall Crimsen planned on climbing. It was hidden by a huge clocktower, so they wouldn't be easily seen scaling the wall if anyone looked in their direction. He turned to Lovett and grimaced at the blunted claws the neko supported. "Put your arms around my shoulders, I will carry you up the wall. Just mind my blades and my wings." The delicate leathery things were tucked away under his clothes, but could easily tear. He adjusted the swords so they were more to the side, allowing Lovett to get on his back comfortably.

Lovett gasped, dashing forward with Crimsen when he grabbed his wrist, long nails digging in. Wolf scent clung to the place, but it was rather old. The noise Crimsen was making was nearly inaudible to him, but it cut through his ears terribly. He gritted his teeth hard and stumbled to a stop when Crimsen halted, shaking his head and rubbing his ears until they stopped ringing, blinking to understand Crimsen.

He knitted his brow and looked up at the wall. Then he glanced sideways at the other wall, which was at the base of the clock tower. "No... No, I couldn't... I can jump, Crimsen, I have... I mean, my feline abilities are still... strong. I don't want to weigh you down, please, not after what you've done..." He stepped back. "And I really don't want to hurt your wings..." Wings... If only he could have them, then both of them, perhaps, could fly away. He sprinted to the wall just nearby, climbing up several yards and kicking off hard, grabbing the ledge above his head, then swinging across the way and grabbing onto the dullest area of the wall, heaving himself up and onto the two-foot-thick top. "I promise you, whatever you assume about me, it's probably wrong. I can handle myself, I just... I need my wits. Come on..." He sidled back so Crimsen could have space to climb up.

Crimsen was surprised Lovett knew how to climb and jump still. A lot of the nekos he had rescued didn't even know about their abilities. He dug his claws into the metal and climbed easily, as though it was a ladder. "I'll meet you up there, then." He continued climbing, keeping an ear on Lovett. If the neko fell or got stuck, he was sure he could fly down and rescue him. He didn't use his wings often, and had never carried someone while gliding.

He got to the top of the wall before Lovett and sat, watching the neko jump and climb his way up to where he was. "Glad you still have your instincts. I am sorry if I offended you, Sire. I was just worried."

Lovett smiled and crept up along with Crimsen. His claws weren't long enough to get a foothold for more than a moment, but a moment was all he needed to steel himself and leap again to where Crimsen sat perched. "Don't worry about it, I just... I'm not... used to it. At all. I don't know how to take all this but I understand I have to keep it all bolted down until we're... safe." He sighed, throwing his legs over the other side of the wall and catching himself. "And please, please call me Lovett, I'm not used to being held in such... such high regard."

He slid off the top, feeling his heart lodge itself in his throat before he landed with outstretched arms and legs on the ground below. He knew nekos existed, knew they were able to jump exceptionally high, several times their own height and even more with a running start, and that they could land easily on their hands and feet from extreme heights. He sometimes practiced when Eren forgot to lock his door at night, jumping from the balcony inside.
