I'm kind of curious about the changes to user events. Like that the announcement isn't in a little bar at the top and why the forum was placed in the contest forum.

They've only done what they've done for every user event.

By putting it the front page so people actually know about it? I'm sure the "setting up" thread wasn't seen by everyone on the site.

We paid for that and they have done that for every user event that has paid for it.
