I would normally say last day, because we normally do no work and are all looking forward to the holidays. Then again, the first day of school is very often my birthday so I do enjoy that day as well ^^ For my 15th I was feeling a bit down because I had to get up early and go to school but as soon as I arrived my friends swamped me with presents. That was a good fiirst day back at school

Although I like the first day of school because it is as how some have put it, a chance to remake yourself, I don't change much, minus my looks and all, but after the first day's excitement it becomes dull and tedious and repetitive. I despise that more than anything. I hate my school because none of the people there are worth talking to really because they're all insensitive jerks to me, and my kind. (nerds, artsy types, poets...etc...strange kids? lol.) But, the last day of school is what I would have to say is my favorite day because I spend most of the day saying goodbye to all hte people that I don't have to see for the next 2 1/2 months and the teachers that were mean to me, and saying I'll see you next year to the teachers that were amazing. Although I'm usually on good terms with most teachers, I don't like teachers who are bland, and arrogant. :3 BUT most of my teachers aren't. Last day of school for me is usually just a see you later day. :/ but some days we do have work.

I love the last day of school, but I think the first day is WAY more exciting.
I guess I love the idea of a class having really great potential, and at the end of the year you can either love what you've learned or you can be disappointed in the way the class went. At the beginning of the year all you can do is hope.
I also think that one of the reasons why kids drop classes is because the class isn't going the way the student had hoped. Well, for me at least. I hate signing up for a class that seems really interesting and then I walk in and the teacher is completely boring and the material is NOTHING what you had hoped it would be.

Back in high school, I'd have to say the last day was always the best. Everyone was just relaxing, teachers didn't give any more work, and the last few school days were nothing but wandering the halls, playing DDR in the small storage room, and stealing, then wheeling, the gigantic metal bin of milk cartons into history class, where everyone, even the teacher, grabbed a couple.

Er, long story. And I think that my public school was more lenient than others.

But in college, I'd have to say the first day is the best. Moving in and seeing all of my friends again, starting all new classes, and not having any papers due looming over my head is fantastic.

So yes. High school - last day. College - first day.

Well I love them both. Though do you mean in a typical week or term wise?

If you mean in a typical week then I love Fridays best because I can escape the tyrinny of school.

Though if you mean termwise I have no idea. I love the first day because I get to see all my friends again and give them all a huge hug, even if I see most of them in the holidays, but I also love the last day because I get a break from exams and boredom and the likes :P

For me it's the first day, though I know I might be a bit weird in thinking that!
It's just that you've had your holidays and stuff, but at the same time you get to see ALL of your friends again, and you don't have to say goodbye to anyone, you've got a whole new year ahead of you and I find that exciting :)
I am at a boarding school, so I miss many of my overseas friends during holidays.

I don't think that's weird. I am quite like that. Though all my school friends don't live overly far away from me. But I miss them none the less :)
