Mmm, that sucks. There should be some sort of rule against 24hr shifts. :stare:
Let's see... Where did you go to get the explanation? To put it simply, samples of certain peoples' voices are recorded to create a synthetic singing program. In other words, you type whatever lyrics you want to, and tell the program what notes you want the lyrics played at, and the program "sings" the song. It's literally a "singer in a box"
Some people have gotten really good at manipulating the programs to the point that it's almost impossible to tell if a song is sung by an actual person or a Vocaloid.*stares at said people in awe*
What OS are you running on your comp? They apparently have demos of some of the singers, but some of them will only work on Win2000 or WinXP.
Like I said earlier, I just need to make a final decision on which one I'm going to get. I've got it narrowed down to three different Vocaloids right now.
I have Win7, so I'm in the same boat you are. Still, it seems that they're re-doing some of the original Vocaloids to run on the newer systems.
Well, I'm thinking about getting either Hatsune Miku, the Kagamine twins (Rin & Len), or Sonika. The things that are making me second-guess getting Miku or the twins is that they're only sold on the Japanese site, which makes ordering difficult (since I still don't know how to read Japanese). Also, it's been confirmed that Hatsune Miku is going to get re-done in English, so I wanna kinda hold off on getting her yet. Since the twins are the second most popular Vocaloid, they'll most likely be re-done in English as well, so I kinda wanna wait for them as well. So I'll most likely go with Sonika (since she's on the UK site, she's already in English, and she is supposed to be able to sing in pretty much any language anyway).
@Ultima: How long do you think the wait will be? *really would like to try*
I've seen so many cosplay and such for Vocaloid. They really like it in Korea.
You mean until Hatsune Miku and the twins are ported over to English? No dates are set yet, and Miku is the only one so far that's been confirmed for getting ported at this time, but there's still no date slated for release yet. That's why I think I'm going to go with Sonika. She's got a good voice as long as you don't try to take her out of her "normal" vocal range. Here's a good video (one of the best I've heard for Sonika yet) to show about where her range is
Vocaloid is pretty popular all over the world. You should see how many vids there are on youtube.
@Chunsa: xD I bet some people waiting in the hallway thought we were crazy as we sang that song to annoy one of our coworkers. xD She doesn't like it because it gets stuck in her head and she starts singing it. Hilaaarious!
