Dinah walk's till she see's Thomas waiting for her by the newspaper mechanic. she holds on to her bag with her right hand. the young woman smile's and waves to him with a smile on her face. "Did you get a newspaper like you wanted to?" Dinah ask him she stop's next to him her basket. still had the food in it nothing more she thinks to her self. about his last name but can't recall anyone with the last name Parker so far. that lived in here in town unless that person moved away as a kid growing up?

" I did." He said holding it up. " What else can you show me?" He said.

"How about we get out of here I can show you around town. this town was found in the 1945 the city still has some old 1950's shop's." she says to Thomas as she garbs his free hand. so they could walk to her house to go get her car so she could show him around.

" Sounds like a wonderful idea." Thomas said. he was having a wonderful time with her today. They headed back to her house.

As they was back to Dinah's house she tell's him about the history of the town. even answer any question's he would ask her. once they get to her house she go's inside to get her car keys. she comes right back out with out the basket are the bag with the new locket in it. "Hop on in I'm driving so where would you like to go first? we got a malt shop, a drive in move threat and a old fashion drug store." Dinah ask as she unlock's her car so they could get in to it. her car is a powder blue Thunderbird the car had been in her family for years.

" I would love to see the Malt shop first." He said. He had to admit he was hungry. He knew he had enough money so he could buy her lunch.

"Sure thing to bad the old 50's dinner got burned down. by a horrible thunder storm that happen when I was still a teenager." she says while turning the old car on then starts to drive. down the road so they could go get some lunch at the malt shop for lunch. as Dinah drive's Thomas could see how big the town really is. as well other stores,places to eat at even some house's.

Thomas was in awe as they drove. He was impressed at the size of the town. He soon relized he was in his home town. Just a past version of it. He smiled at the sight of the house near downtown. It looked the same . He was very happy to see a familiar sight.

Dinah park's her car in a parking spot once they get the the malt shop. "Come on let's go inside to get some lunch. I hope you like are town Thomas a lot of people that are. form out of town can't believe we still have a few old fashion places still running." Dinah says to him while walking over to a small booth they could sit down in. the booth had a small juke box on the table so people could listen to music. of there choice at there own tables.

Thomas loved this place. He sat down with Dinah and looked at the menu. Every thing looked good to him. Even some items he didn't know what they were. " What are you going to get?" He asked .

"I'm going to get a hamburger with french fries and a chocolate milk shake. did you find anything you want to try out? this place sell's a lot of 50's food here one of the oldest drink's this malt shop has is called a egg cream. my uncle all ways get one when he comes for visit." she says while trying not to laugh recalling they last time her uncle. had come in to town when her mother was still a live. yet just thinking about that old memory wanted to make her cry right now. Dinah's mother loved to drink the root beer floats at this place.

" Are you alright?" He asked . Something had made her feel sad he noticed. " I think I might get the samething. A hamburger sounds really good .

Dinah look's up at Thomas as she put's the menu down on the table. "I'll be fine please there is no need to worry about me." Dinah says to him as a waitress walk's over to there table. "What would you like? aw Ms.Sand do you want your normal meal? what would you like sir?" the teen aged girl ask them as Dinah nods her head. in to a yes to the teen aged waitress that would be severing them.

"The same as her please." He said . The waitress walked off and he said , " Are you sure?" He hoped she was alright . He really cared about her. Even if they had just met.

"Thomas I had a old memory come back to me is all. my Mother loved to come in here to get a root beer float. ever since she died my uncle won't come in to town any more. he all ways sends me money to buy flower's to put on her grave twice a year." she explains to him while smiling trying to hide. a sad look on her face that was starting to show up. Dinah was worried about her father since he was over in Iraq she wonder. if that war would ever end so people could come back home to there family's?

" I understand how painful it is to lose someone you love. My grandfather never came to visit after my dad died. I'm worried about my brother in law. He's figting a war far from home and my sister hasn't heard much from him lately . If you ever need someone to talk to I'm willing to listen .

"Thank you for saying that Thomas heck sometimes I wonder. if I'll ever get married have a family? I know I would like to but the right guy has not come in to my life yet." Dinah says with a soft smile then sighs out in a daydream like one. there food would take a few more minutes the waitress. comes over to there table placing the milk shakes on the table.

" You are welcome. I feel the same way . I'm 34 and most of the men my age already have families." He took a sip of his milkshake. It tasted good to him. The milkshakes in his time were not nearly as good.

Dinah pick's cup her milkshake glass and takes a nice long sip of her milkshake. then put's it back down on to the table. I'm one year younger then you I'm 33years old a lot of women. here in town are all ready married even have some kids." she says to Thomas while blushing a bit when talking. heck he seemed like a really great guy to her even. if they have just met she felt like he could be the right guy she was talking about.

Thomas smiled. He felt she was the right girl for him. He didn't want to hurt her when he left to go back to his time.

The waitress come's back with there food and places the plates down. in front of them so they could eat then walk's off. "The food smell's great shall we eat now?" Dinah ask Thomas as she look's at the hamburger en fries. even if the food in this unhealthy it is great tasting.

" We should." he said with a smile. Thomas took a bite of his hamburger. It was much better than the ones back home. They looked the same but they were vegetarian. Thomas was enjoying his time with Dinah.

Dinah pick's up her hamburger and takes a bit out of it she loved. that it was made out of meat not a turkey one. she keep's quite while eating at lest this was a good day.

Thomas enjoyed Dinah's company. "Thank you so much for today. I haven't had this much fun before." He ate his french fries. This was turning out to be an amazing trip.

"I'm happy that you are having a good time Thomas." she says to him yet was thinking to her self has he never done. fun thing's before? yet she dose not ask him that it would be so rude to do so. Dinah sip's at her milk shake then eat's some of her own fries.
