Gavin hated moving just as much as he hated eating vegetables. It was horrible. Why did his father and mother leave without him? Why didn’t they take him on the cruise and just leave school out of the subject? But no! He had to move the country side with Uncle Tom who was some type of farmer. The vision of a farm for Gavin was muddy, too much humidity, dirty animals running around and people to rude for his liking. He missed the city so much.

It was the morning of going to his new school. He had just arrived yesterday in this country side late at the dead of night. Not once did he see a mall. He was so upset, he didn’t even bother to look for a horse which he always kind of dreamed of riding one but in the city there was no horses.
He settled all his bags in the corner of the room tiredly when he got to Uncle Tom’s house and didn’t even bother to get comfortable in his room. All he did was drop down on his small bed and fall sleep despite he was very upset.

He wasn’t rushing or anything to get to school; Uncle Tom was giving him a ride to school instead of letting him ride the bus so Gavin’s day wouldn’t be as awkward.
Gavin was wearing a bright blue cotton shirt with some black skinny jeans. His hair was done nicely as always and soon enough, he was on his way to his first day of school in the old Chevy pickup truck of his uncles. His uncle was man in his late 40’s with graying hair and a 5 O’ clock shadow decorating that strong jaw.

The school wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be, but it wasn’t better than his old school. He waved at his uncle, not being so close to him and muttered a small thank you as he gathered his bookbag on his shoulders and slipped out of the vehicle.

He sighed lightly and looked around curiously as he made his way to a bench that was on the sidewalk. His lips pursed tightly and Gavin exhaled sharply from his nose, inspecting the school more. He had to admit, the school had a fresher smell and the grass looked healthier than in the city.

“I can tell you’re rather new.” Said a light husky voice behind him.

Was it that noticeable? He thought to himself as he looked over his shoulder to see a male with light brown hair that reached his cheekbones, bright brown eyes and wide shoulders. “Yeah, I moved from New York..” he muttered with a light sigh.

“Oh, nice. I’m Erik. It’s nice meet you.” Erik said with a small smile, planting himself to sit next to Gavin.

“Gavin. Nice to meet you, too.” he added with a small awkward chuckle, his dark blue eyes looking into the other.

“You like it here?” Erik asked casually with a laugh, enjoying how awkward Gavn was. He thought city folks were a bit funny so he talked to them as entertainment.
